  • I wish, I wish Hugh Laurie would sometime do some House mannerisms as himself.

  • He should get hair implants.

  • @CeresLegend @CeresLegend why? he is charming and he is not totally bald LOL if he left his hair he can hide it a little bit ...Hugh has bald since his 30

  • Love the part where Jon brings out the Steinway... the BABY Steinway.

  • lol that would be funny if Fry played "Microft" in house since he just played it in holmes

  • I love Hugh, but If you ever want to try a beard, do it before your bald spot shows up.

  • @HeartlessConservativ Maybe he can use some of the grown beard to patch the bald spot haha

  • @HeartlessConservativ LOL many men are bald ,beard has nothing to do with his head ..Many people are bald and have beard its not weird..Espcially for Hugh ..He has bald 20 years now

  • I LOVE that he and Stephen are still SO close :)

  • He has British accent but all he is asking is American.. Swag y'all :P

  • Funny how Hugh is talking about Stephen Fry acting as Mycroft (Sherlock Holmes' brother) when he eventually becomes that role exactly in Sherlock Holmes 2.

  • like this if it made you want to go watch house again! Hugh Laurie cannot be described or complimented enough, even if the whole interview is spent doing so!

  • they shoulf bring stephen fry on to house now that cuddy is gone

  • The clip works as advertising for the show, so if they asked YouTube to take it down, it would be a shot in the foot.

  • we twit eachother HAHA

  • who looked up shhh?

  • You can tell Hugh is a comedian, pure class

  • House = UNREAL SHOW!! sooo good

    "i box"

    "ohh, against other people?"

    "ehh small children...." LOL

  • 0:19

Haha. I love how he said "I grew it because it was there"

And then hes all like "Did I just say that?"

  • I love how he mocks this guy...his answers are so insane..

  • @7:17*thinking NO FUCKING WAY*

    @7:28*thinking YOU BASTARD*

  • @WCGwkf Probably my favorite Youtube comment ever, just saying.

  • "Le Beard" Lol

  • "Le Beard" Lol

  • Trying to sneak in his atheism!

  • mostly small children, up to eight. lol nice

  • "small children" lol

  • I wanna join shhh

  • @daithesceptic He's not a dick man! Come on, he has a sarcastic sense of humor but take it in the spirit it's meant to be he is a funny guy and asks great questions!

  • @daithesceptic You must be American.

  • lol "la beard" Ereec's face at that moment made me laugh hard.

  • Hugh Laurie looked okay when he was younger- now, talk about aging with style.

  • @GeekInChina owwwww yeah !!! He sure knows how to age ... :-)

  • @GeekInChina yeah i agree he now looks amazing.

  • 1:21 "who don't latch on to EASY things" - that'd be code for religion.

  • @wcibbt Also fads, drugs, porn, technology, alcohol, political correctness... the list goes on.

  • I just LOVE british people!

  • I love House & Hugh Laurie and hem mentions another love of mine; Bones! :D

  • I rofl'ed hard at the blues riff on the toy piano.

  • Man it would be epic to see Stephen Fry in house.

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 wouldn't that be interesting lol

  • this is the first interview I have ever seen of Hugh Laurie and I must say, his humor is wonderful :)

  • wew hahahahah a few things I LOLed at..

beard thing.."I grew it because it was there.."

shhh person "Ive subcribe to a shhh network where you write something down and dont sent it anywhere"

"he did threatened me..to come in the show as a man with 2 limbs.."

awww HE DONT LOOK 50! O.O

"baby version of the grand piano!" XDDDDD

  • @icakaoko11 I believe the quote was "as a man with two limps"

  • the velcro thing had me laughing my ass off

  • I am now imagining Hugh and Stephen sat together in sunny California, sharing a house... ahhhh :D

  • ''I grew it because it was there'' :)

  • he doesent hav an acent

  • he seemed very....uncomfortable

anyone else get that vibe from laurie?

  • @ReducedToAsh I think he hates interviews, but he gradually warmed to this one because Ross mostly wasn't asking him the questions he always gets asked. (Except the bike bit, and the bit about moving to the US.) He definitely appreciated the Scottish accent joke because American presenters are *always* asking him if it's hard to keep up the American accent.

  • @plevyman I reckon he really appreciated the piano too ;D

  • @plevyman He got asked about his dad, too. Pretty much everything he usually gets asked about, except he did a little comedic twist on the accent thing.

  • @ReducedToAsh He looks like a very humble man and I think the interviews and the praises make him a little bit embarrassed, hence uncomfortable.

  • @sanbilge Yes perhaps. It was sort of perplexing to me, after seeing him being very funny and jolly on "A bit of Fry and Laurie"..

    He seems nice overall, though.

  • Never heard of Jonathon Ross before, but I always love a Hugh Laurie interview :)

I'm glad Hugh recently had the opportunity to show off his vocals and piano playing :)

I can't wait for Mr Fry to make an appearance on House :)

There needs to be a petition :)

    :P

  • I cant stop laughing at the part where Wossy goes. "To do a scottish accent like that....."

  • That oil rig thing, esp. 3:07, makes me scream with laughter every time. I really don't know why.

  • a three pipe problem... What a class act this man truly is.

  • a three pipe problem... What a class act this man truly is.

  • just love this guy...

  • Eddie Izzard is awesome!! I though Hugh Laurie was suppose to be in this?

  • As much as id love an onscreen reunion of Hugh and Laurie, I think id hate the fact that House would lose out to someone more ha!

Unless at the end of the episode House beat his 'Mycroft' somehow :)

  • @arrywaterworth08 did you mean Fry and Laurie ;)

  • @arrywaterworth08 I'm in a silly mood as it is but an onscreen reunion of Hugh and Laurie gave me a 5-minute eye-watering laughing/screaming fit. So thanks for that :D

  • i'd love to see stephen on house :p wouldn't make any sense though but i've been thinking about how that would be for a long time :p

  • i'd love to see hugh fight an 8 yr old :p

  • hahaha the irony of the ignorance of the person who uploaded this..."I had to cut out the House clip in order to avoid copyright infringement."

  • I'm not a Twitter person, Jonathan, no. I'm... I'm more of a "shhh" person. I've subscribed to this "shhh" network where you write something down but don't send it anywhere.

  • Shhh network lol

  • Same old usual questions, yawn.

  • I don't know how Hugh Laurie can stand to be in the same room as the very unfunny and embarrassing untalented piece of shit called Ross.

  • @uncled39 Because he's kind and gentle - unlike you, shown in your comment.

  • @freddyzcount90 That's true.

  • This is hilarious xD

  • " I grew it because it was there *starts to think..*" XD

  • @jailbroketouch95 no he resigned from the BBC because of his antics with Russel Brand :P

  • @Beefie11 He more left because he felt he was getting stared upon by the BBC for what he says, and he didn't want to slip into saying something bad once that got him sacked. So he left when he felt he was safe still.

  • loved this interview!!! thanks

  • -Stephen, who?

    Haha, just great

  • Sorry but Jonathan Ross is a twat! Love Hugh Laurie soooo much thou :)

  • I see why this show isnt on anymore if i remember correctly. He has a lot of awkwardness. Hugh Laurie though is great.

  • Wow... That pic of him with Stephen Fry looks kinda like he could play a live-action version of Sideshow Bob.

  • i always wondered if they based house on sherlock holmes

  • Well Hugh, I'll gladly keep you company when you're alone in the US ;)

And oh God, Stephen as a man with TWO limps!

For fuck's sake I laughed at that piano!!

  • How do you keep shape?

    I box

You Box, what with other people??

    Small children...

  • Oh please oh please oh please oh please let Stephen be Mycroft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Stephen is going to play Mycroft in the new Sherlock Holmes film

  • i grew it bc it was there

  • its a mask of manliness

  • Anybody else notice the subtly on Hugh's 'SHHHHH" comment right after JR says something he probably shouldn't have.

  • John is so mean, for tricking Hugh that he got a baby grand piano

  • fry as houses older brother like mycroft would be the greatest thing in tv history

  • what kind of shoes does he wear?

  • Is he wearing desert boots?

  • @Soapjuna

    Laurie has style! :D

  • Isn't it weird that he talks of Stephen Fry playing a Mycroft character & Fry is currently filming Sherlock Holmes 2 where he is playing the part of Mycroft.

  • gotta love hugh laurie and his beard !! <3

  • I dont know if hugh laurie keeps playing dr. house or dr. house is just like hugh laurie but what he says and the way he acts on tv he always stays that clever and funny 50 year old that we all love so much

  • If anyone else had played Dr House it would have ended after the 2nd season

  • I don't understand why a lot of English people on here get so upset that Americans think Hugh Laurie is American.

That is the context we know him in.

His older comedy doesn't air very often here.

It's not my civic duty to look up the national origins of every actor on TV.

If you speak with an American accent, I'm going to assume you're American.

    Obviously.

  • My god. I'm a twenty year old woman and don't have any daddy complexes or something. But Hugh Laurie is bloody sexy!!

  • @lizoerd i'm a 21 year old heterosexual male and yer... he damn well is bloody sexy

  • @EtherJunky haha! awesome :D

  • @lizoerd i think we should meet up an talk about hugh laurie

  • @EtherJunky Haha maybe thats a bit extreme. He's sexy but I'm not about to start a fanclub or anything :D And from which country are you??

  • @lizoerd hmmm you not wanting to start a fanclub sounds like some daddy complexes, I'm from Belgium and i could cure you! coincidentally i also have a limp and a drug addiction

  • @EtherJunky Hahah zalig!

  • @lizoerd you know am starting to think you're not belgian at all! i think you're just toying with my emotions

  • @EtherJunky hahaha goe bezig!

  • @lizoerd aaareet, riddle me this, what language do they speak in belgium?

  • @EtherJunky Dutch french and german.

  • @lizoerd Fuck Dutch, it's Flemish! Vloms!

  • @Raissmo haha ok, if you want to put it that way. But Flemish is more of a dialect. The correct term is dutch.

  • @lizoerd The correct term would be Dutch indeed.. But i wouldn't say that it's a dialect. Dutch people for example think that everything is 'lekker' while we only use that word if it's about food. W becomes a v in Dutch, thet have 3 different ways of pronouncing the letter 'R', every s is an sh and station becomes statsion. G's sound like they vomit and sneeze at the same time. L's and o's sound different and i can go on and on. Vloms zeg ik ou!

  • @Raissmo haha ok ge hebt gelijkt. Vlaams it is :D

  • @lizoerd i kneeew that, was only testing you... well done you passed, so hows about us playin doctor? you could sing to me with that heart warming voice of yours

  • I never watched Ross cause I always thought him a bit of a dick. I still do, but I have to say damn he knows how to interview a person.

Compare his style to any and all of the fake moron chatshow hosts over in the USA. Ross asked most of the same questions they did, but did it in such a way Laurie was encouraged and allowed to speak rather than give a stock answer.

Letterman and all could learn a lot from watching Ross. Like how to bloody interview without being boring or patronising.

  • do you'acholy wait 'etters

  • da-yum hugh!! is there any interviews with him where he is asked to do the accent and actually does it?

  • i have beard envy

  • I love that he gets the same two questions "Could you diagnose/treat someone in real life" and "I hear your father was a doctor. How does that affect you/your portrayal of the role" and he doesn't just give a stock answer each time.

  • I think it would be amazing if Robert Sean Leonard (Wilson on House) played Sherlock Holmes and Laurie played Watson in a mini-series or something...

Both are amazing actors, and the switch would be very interesting imo.

  • @sovietsentinel Oh my God yesss, and Mr. Fry as Moriarty *dreams*

  • House is a brilliant show

  • 1:16 I LOVE HIM....

  • stephen and hugh together again....hell yeah i wanna see that

  • There's so few utterly nice people on the planet who are extremely famous, extremely rich and extremely popular. 99% of the time arrogance takes over and people in that position can't help but assume their status makes them better than other people. Hugh Laurie is one of the few exceptions, he'd be charming, polite and friendly to anyone he met. Great great guy.

  • i would

  • and i know its extravegent.... and a little crazy

  • Stephen Fry for Mycroft House!

  • @freaky108

Scares me if it flops.......They need to write it.....Stephen and Hugh. Wait til its perfect.

  • Seriously, you get so used too his voice on 'house M.D'. This just seems weird.

  • lol funny how Hugh talked about Stephen Fry playing a Mycroft version of House that he's actually playing Mycroft in the Sherlock Holmes 2 movie.

  • oooh tssssssssssss my dad is 60

  • ALOT of sound problems!

  • he's just so charming and lovely :)

  • should have given Hugh a real Steinway. this man is a giant of comedy, he did not deserve such a low prank. or did i take it too seriously? :))

  • getting old there house lol

  • Anybody else see the piano thing coming?

  • who are they talking about at 5:50? i watch bones and house all the time!

  • @hsm3freak

Stephen Fry. He has done loads of work with Hugh over the years. these days he does a panel show called QI, you should check it out

  • @hsm3freak its the guy that does the shrink in bones, not the young guy, the older. The shrink that later becomes a chef.

  • @hsm3freak Stephen Fry, I can assume you're not British. Hugh and Stephen used to do a lot of comedy work together, they've been friends for years and years

  • @hsm3freak Stephen Fry plays Gordon Gordon Wyatt, a regular guest star on Bones, he is a British national treasure, who used to do a lot of comedy work with Hugh when they were younger, they went to university together. Type 'Cambridge Footlights Revue' into Youtube for a treat.

  • omg u are hot but the beard is awkward

  • Shhhh...lmao

  • Love the beard. Hugh seems like he'd be so interesting to talk with, oh man. It's cute how him and Stephen stayed so close.

  • Comment removed

  • I want him to be my dad! And i'm sure my mom does too!

  • How can you not LOVE him. And he actually plays piano, not just in House.

  • he funny

  • omgod he is too funny

  • He's well funny.

  • Only English interviewers actually get to know him and ask him decent questions!

  • @Rachiejane1 Decent people, decent questions. Makes sense.

  • Lol love what he did with the grand piano at the end.

  • he doesnt look too relaxed, his eyes are looking a little wild. The marks of life no doubt. Wish him all the best.

  • @conscious4now

I think his wild eyes are just him. He's always had a fidgety look about him. Fry is Bipolar and I wouldn't be surprised if Hugh's a bit ADHD as well as being a bit bipolar himself.

He looks more handsome now than he did 20 years ago in Fry & Laurie. He's an incredibly talented, intelligent and witty person. Shame that US chatshow hosts are ignorant of these facts and stick to such asinine questions as, "You play an American but you're NOT?!"

  • 6:50 with transcribe audio

"50 years old" becomes "50 years on death row" :L

  • i would love love love to see stephen fry on house ;)

  • omg, if Stephen Fry appeared as "mycroft" on House, that would be AWESOME!!!!!!!! I'm American but I love sherlock holmes and house, and a Laurie & Fry reunion on house would be amazing!

  • @csmars Yes! That would be amazing. Stephen Fry is such a legend and everything he does is amazing

  • I think the reason House isn't as popular in the UK as it is in the US is because America ain't as used to sarcasm to the same extent as the Brits. And of course, new things are almost always more popular.

  • im not a twitter person, no. Im more of a sshh person! thats a house comment from hugh

  • Uri Geller was before my time, but I'm glad I missed him. It's been enough to put up with the likes of John Edwards, James Van Praagh and Sylvia Browne on TV if my lifetime. Thanks for reminding me about the Randi thing with Hugh. I hadn't seen it in years and had forgotten about it so I just went back and watched it. Yeah...Hugh is SOOOO confident just like the guy described. Actually, I've never seen a more self-effacing, self deprecating celeb than Hugh.

  • I want Hugh to appear on Bones lol and Stephen to appear on House!

  • Yay empiricists! (I'm a Biology major)

  • @drgregsgurl

Hey, me too. How 'bout them creationists, eh?

    (biologist water cooler talk)
