  • Those who grew up in the 80s didn't know how good we had it. Such great music. I feel sad for my daughters

  • VVVV I'm 21 yrs old too and smoke my fair share of ganj but that's beside the point... I love this song so much!!! I grew up with Echo along with Siouxsie, The Smiths and New Order. I still think these bands are revolutionary to this day and have influenced a ton of bands afterwards. Damn, I love the 80's!! :D

  • hii i am 21 and i love this song i listen all days smoking weed is normal?????

  • Went past St Georges Hall today. Not sure whether the Bunnymen were made for it, or vice-versa. Truly great, both.

  • I feel like turning into a vampire whenever I hear this song.

  • nice one,i was at this.

  • 10 tone deaf people just don't get it.

  • best Echo song ever

  • The reason talent is "hard to find" is because, unlike those times, record companies now hire "hit makers" rather than talented people. I'm not dissing nowadays musicians, what I mean is back then, the record companies managers were a bit more open to new bands.

In any case, if you're a musician like I am just keep playing, and create your own chance. If you're a music fan, support the incoming artists if you like them...

  • @Carlosmr1984 the market is swamped with manufactured rubbish. I blame Simon Cowell. The devil incarnate as far as real music is concerned.

  • @Carlosmr1984 True but you can't blame record companies either because they're only trying to make a living too. So they need to be more careful chosing which artists to support. Because the music industry has changed so much since the time of this video, they need hit makers, rather than talents because those are risky investments...

  • the heart of 80's.

    thumbs up for this sound

  • One of the true greats that helped define a decade.

  • Fuck yeah...Prince Albert is impressed..just ask Lance Armstrong!

  • I think Jorn & I dance to this one....

  • Better than the Beatles that says ALOT!

  • Wow,what a solid song!!

  • What has happened to music you'll be very hard pressed to find a good band in the 21st century sures theres plenty of bands you listen to and think "oh this sounds pretty good" but you dont find many whose albums you would go out and buy, Echo and the Bunnymen are one of those bands whose work i would happily pay for.

  • I'm sure your parents said the same thing about your tastes when you were young.

  • @MrSamuraibry

I'm not one to pick fights, let alone online a, but somehow I'm not so sure I can agree with your opinion. What you are stating is that "all the good stuff has already been written and now there's nothing left". This is simply not true. I wager you can go to any period in history, all the people would say that same thing. I would argue that actually there's never been a more fertile time for music. I'm 19 and I love this music, but I have great respect for the genius yet to come

  • @DeadWhiteButterflies im not saying is dead im saying your hard pressed to find great music nowadays, i mean lets face it the majority of modern music you hear about is tailored for 13 year olds, i mean you have to look really hard to find a good band nowadays whereas in the 80s-90s that wouldnt have been the case

  • @MrSamuraibry I disagree with you, the only music that is tailored for 13 year olds is the mainstream pop. There are literally hundreds of thousands of bands still creating music just as good as this.

  • fantastic.a timeless classic.

  • Faith up against your will , though the thick and thin...great lyrics.

  • It's Fate not Faith, but who cares. Great song, all of it, lyrics, music, etc.

  • Thanks for the correction, you are right, fate, and faith are different thing!

  • Hey great song, who cares at this point. Glad you like this song and the Bunnymen.

  • soooo good!

  • can someone post the avalanche ep please

  • Love the guitar at 2:05

  • i do really love this song eversince ...new wave 80s

  • Que excelente tema :D

  • Jake R.I.P

  • Jake Drake Brockman R.I.P.

  • that guy's mullet sure is big

  • great lyrics :) we just love this song...great voice again :*:*:*

  • Under blue moon I saw you

    So soon you'll take me

    Up in your arms

Too late to beg you or cancel it

Though I know it must be the killing time

    Unwillingly mine

  • Fate Up against your will Through the thick and thin He will wait until You give yourself to him In starlit nights I saw you So cruelly you kissed me Your lips a magic world Your sky all hung with jewels The killing moon Will come too soon
  • Fate Up against your will Through the thick and thin He will wait until You give yourself to him Under blue moon I saw you So soon you'll take me Up in your arms Too late to beg you or cancel it Though I know it must be the killing time Unwillingly mine
  • Fate

    Up against your will

    Through the thick and thin

    He will wait until

    You give yourself to him

    You give yourself to him

    La la la la la...

  • Ian McCulloch is in his 50s now. to bad music didn't evolve much. I still hear the same styles in some bands today. But then again this is my favorite style of music. haunting echoish sound

  • no, its on the events thaht shook the world :)

  • I love this song..on Discovery Chanel :)

  • on nasa's greatest missions? :D

  • best of the 80,s

  • i fucking love this song!! this was performed the year i was born. :-)

  • Okay man.

  • Look I don't care for negative postings on a great song and performance. If you really knew Ian, you would know that he quit smoking a while ago. Later postings of this song shows an improvement on his vocals. Also I am not a liberal hippie. I just do and discuss what I feel is right. Peace.

  • Don't even waste your time with this "snotra" dork. I've seen this jackass spew his jive all over youtube. He's just another one of these self-loathing momos that uses youtube tagboards as a forum for "one-uppage". Just enjoy the videos and don't give him the satisfaction.

  • Brewzerr thanks. Now that you mention it I have seen this poster spewing on other songs that have been uploaded. Great advice and peace.

  • Apparently, snot got us with negative posings. Let's even the score.

  • Ah, who cares. If that's the only way he can feel better about himself then let him bang away on that stupid little "thumbs-down" tab. I really don't get the point of those "rating" tabs anyway. I guess it provides a placebo effect to those lacking in backbone.

  • Brewzerr you are on it. Snot resembles that remark. Peace.

  • So is your post. Don't preach here. This is an excellent song played extremely well live.

Go see Robert Schuler or Tom Cruise for your path and don't post that moralistic BS here. OK SNOT?

  • AWESOME

  • This is a great live version of this song (truly GREAT)

  • Sounds really good for live. Cool song. Why weren't they bigger? Any ideas anyone?

  • Wouldn't sell out. Stayed true to their music. Rubs certain music producer control freaks the wrong way,

  • this song inspires me so much..

  • I love the beginning of this song :)

  • Siii, es bacán :)

  • thanks - you're right :-) after I posted that, I thought, that's the wrong guy, but could not remember who it really was.

  • this song is the best

  • what's Donnie Darko??!

  • are you serious? it is a movie starring some lovely pheonix boy (maybe joaqhin - spelling - too hard) v v cool.

  • i know about joaqin phoenix, actor,he had a brother River also actor who killed himself. i'll look for that movie if it's so special

  • you've got the wrong actor. It's Jake Gyllenhaal in Donnie Darko. Joaqhin pheonix was in The Village and Walk the Line (i think).

  • correctomundo compadre, also his sister in the film is his real sister Maggie Gyllenhaal

  • You should be able to find these easy things out for yourself... Donnie Darko is an awesome movie with Drew Barrymore acting and producing.....

  • There is not even a trace of Joaquin Phoenix in Donnie Darko. Its Jake Gyllenhaal who plays Donnie.

  • Its a really awesome movie

  • Nothing on earth can make me happier than this song.I 'm so grateful for it.

  • what a great song!!!

makes me feel so focussed in life

  • I wanna go back in TIME, PLEASE!!!

    Joy Division, The Smiths, E&TBM....

  • Nope. There are plenty of legal music download sites now offering cheap downloads and they seem to be working.

There are plenty of artists who have become successful through self-promotion using modern tools. All you need is a load of gigs and a MySpace page.

Where are you getting this 2 million figure from? There is the potential to reach global audiences for FREE! And records don't cost that much to make, especially now the hard product is less important..

  • "P2P kind of made it impossible for any underground bands to afford making records anymore"

Bullshit. It's easier than ever for an underground band to make it. It's cheaper to record and release music. It's much easier to promote yourself.

The only thing that's more difficult now is being "underground" because there is no longer an underground.

  • that sounds so freking good..even before the synthisizers

  • they sound grrreat live

  • This gives me continuous chicken skin!

    Outstanding.

  • Damn, what happened to songs like this? It's like after the 90s all music went to hell....

  • don't be silly, still good music out there, you just have to find it

  • like ?!! give us some bands dude.

  • Always thought this would make a good opening song for a James Bond movie. Sure beats the Beyonce one for Quantum of Solace.

  • at least made a superb opening for donnie darko!!

  • most in tune and best version on you tube!

  • I was there!! Awesome gig - Hi to all my old chums from Derby Hall - Aladdin the bear, Rick, Garvin et al....Marshy

  • yeah this song is sick, donnie darko is one

    of the greatest films ever.

  • Right the theatrical version of Donnie Darko. In the Directors cut it starts out with INXS's "Love will Tear Us Apart". But at Donnies halloween party Joy Divisions "Love Will Tear Us Apart" is playing in both films. Very powerful.

  • Comment removed
