Kurt is quite high up in most guitar polls but I think its fair to say its more for the conviction and raw emotion he put into his guitar palying rather than for virtuoso musical ability. A lot of his solos are just the melody of the previous verse. But that isn't a necessarily a critisism. He and his band certainly were the real deal. Probably the last guitar band to come out of America who genuinely had a punk rock ethic for real. Unlike todays fakers like green day.
