Like I said, search for other transhumanism videos. I've posted quite a bit of rational anti-transhumanist thought there. I make no apologies for wanting to beat the shit out of these people, though. Someone should have done it a long time ago. Perhaps a good old fashioned chimp-like thrashing would revive their will to live and they'd turn on themselves, realizing with a shudder of dread that they've been gleefully advocating the mass suicide of humanity.

Life might become very organized with AI and robots completing most tasks like transportation and food cultivation, and anything else robots might be doing. entertainment will be incredible of course, a huge part will be videogames and massive multiplayer simulations, metaverses like secondlife and niel stevensons snowcrash will be realized in full, will perfectly realistic graphics and total 3d immerision with headtracking visor displays or direct neural input. Also for traditional movies most will be done 100% through animation but it will look 100% real, real actors will be a novelty only to be seen in theatre and heard as voice actors.

I don't advocate "replacing humans with machines." I advocate enhancing existing human beings with technology. I think most of this technology is going to be biological, though electronics may be a part of it.

How about eliminating aging? Increasing your sight, hearing, ability to think, memory, lifespan? Plenty of reasons.

the idea is utopia, i think this collaborative hive mind and super computer future would garner breakthroughs in the way of free energy, like cold fusion. Then breakthroughs in food production, and a world government to bring a utopic communist state . I think its hard to imagine but we would be mind altered into a pleasure and happy state, while the government is almost automated, the enviroment becomes healing, energy free, food automated, little then needs to be done.

I don't see why those things would be lost, since few if any people desire an existence without meaning.

We have machines that pump our gas for us, but this didn't suddenly reduce the amount of work available. So long as future improvement and scarcity are concerns, there will be work.

It's also important to remember that scarcity will always exist. Even if basic survival needs like food are no longer scarce, something will be.

The consequences will be grave but I suppose every major historical shift has been. It just sucks that I have to be the one to understand what so many other people will be hard pressed to even fathom. The Shift, technological singularity, Nano-Bio-Info-Cogno Revolution, or The age of Scientific Mastery, amongst other identities, all point to the same observation of what is about to come. "Future Shock" seems to be amongst the first that will attempt to understand what society's reaction will be which at its most fundamental level will understandably be one of fear and disorientation. The question is then what can we do to bring society & ourselves up to speed?

That's all well and good but society and culture as a whole is really constructed at an interpersonal level. If you discussed these kinds of things with family, friends or just somehow with someone else who is interested in the subject and they did the same and they did the same then these ideas get woven into the fabric of society.

I am aware of some of the media already being produced. This media is the result of many thinkers and artists discussing this topic at the "interpersonal" level that you speak of. It is people like you, I and others who will strive to expand the consumer base to something more mainstream and while society has an organic nature, nothing happens if you don't try and ficilitate something. Nothing happens on its own, we just individually decide not to take part.

Right! This is unfortunate however as the general public should have these concepts made more mainstream as soon as possible. A couple of decades may be enough time to have them enslaved by the few well-informed. In my opinion, the more people know about this stuff, the less likely it is for that to happen. But I have no idea how to effectively do this. I have a few ideas though. Any suggestions?

That may be, but why would you? If the general public is more interested in celebrity craziness than in the real beauties of life. Let it either be nature or technology, both of remarkable sophistication, -presence and -resemblance. So be it.

You're not bound to other interests, only to your own. I don't care mainstream is going south, while that tiny percentage including me is going north. Sooner or later they should face it or disagree with it (due to ethical issues).

And example of such a system could be that there are two identical governments that depend on each other to take decisions and their only tool of communication can be viewed by all citizens.

If one thing is boring, it doesn't follow that the absence of that thing would be not boring. For instance, suppose that I find it very boring to collect stamps. So I quit collecting stamps. Am I automatically not bored? No. I'm only not bored if I can find something to do with my time that is less boring than collecting stamps.
