  • It was an interesting outcome for Poot, but people are talking like he's out forever. Plenty of people quit dealing and get back into it. If Poot lost his job, he could easily follow the advice he gave to Dukie and go back out on the corners.

  • Poot decided to turn his back on the gangster life. Good for him. :)

I think the fact that everybody he worked with in season 1 (D'Angelo, Wallace, and Bodie) is dead now, and maybe even the time he spent in jail, influenced his decision. I like how he put it, though - "Shit just got old." Yeah, he wouldn't just open up to a casual acquaitance, so he just put it like that.

Still, haha, what a thing to say: "Bang for a while longer." That's kinda shitty given that he turned away from it.

  • There a lotta of irony in this scene cause everytime i see poot i think automatically of bodie, wallace and d'angelo, how all them niggas got dealth with in sad scenarios.

  • Dukie never deserved anything he got, If i were to rewrite season 5, i'd have Marlo get shot at the end and as he's dying, he writes a 10 million dollar check made out to Dukie!!

  • @whatsgoingon07 shut up

  • @5g5g5g5g1 lol

  • @whatsgoingon07 but that's what the wire is about. it's raw, it is real. and sometimes reality is unfair and people don't get what they deserve. i loved every bit of that show and i'm really glad that there were no happy ending bitches in the writing staff..

  • @DrivinMeWild09 Sometimes people do get what they deserve. Cheese and Namond are prime examples. I'm not into tragic dark "gritty" endings for the sake of it. They're just as corny as happy endings that aren't logical or "earned." As long as it makes inevitable sense, a happy ending is cool. Same as a tragic end. Like the fact that It made sense that Wallace got killed by his best friends. Even though it was hella sad, The game is the game. But some people do get out. Like Poot

  • @whatsgoingon07 That's the most fucked up ending I could imagine for The Wire. It's a fucking shame on The Wire that your dumb ass got to watch it.

  • poot was a good kid

  • well his job hasn't changed much, he went from selling dope to selling shoes

  • .....and then dukie becomes a crackhead

  • fuck kinda name is "Poot" though?

  • What is this? Anyone??

  • @aquilas2santos The Wire

  • One of my favorite characters...god damn this was good.

  • you wonder if he had been given that job, maybe he wouldnt have gotten into drugs

  • you think Poot still fuckin these hoes?

  • @GreenBlaze He's been burned so many times, I'm surprised his dick didn't rot off.

  • i hate dookie

  • poot always sucked

  • Do the chair know we gonna look like some punkass bitches out there?

  • it sad that the kid became a crackhead at the end

  • lol

  • i really do wish that somehow poot could have got marlo in revenge for bodie..

  • Poot and Slim Charles were some lucky bastards

  • And Poot lived happily ever after! <3

  • I think I'd rather die than work at Footlocker.

  • @DrSnazz u a dummy if u rether die than work at footlocker smh lolll

  • poot said 'bang a while longer' like its a regular job lol

  • I see Slim Charles as kind of a winner too. He survives through a lot of shit.

  • @fixajob1 that last scene with him and cheese was great yo.. me and me brothers got more respect for dat nigga now.

  • @fixajob1 apparently he survived a lot of shit in real life, heard he's been shot like 18 times

  • @LeBronForTheWin WHAT? Really? Do you know what happened?

  • man, i aint realize how short that nigga poot was

  • @MrMondayNight360 Go look at the Season 1 when he gets the Couch for himself in the pit lmao!!!. He standing the couch and still cat see over ther backbrace of the couch lmao!!!

  • Let me help ya'll with Poot so this can be put to rest. Poot goes to jail after season 1. He was a dumb ass and only cared about pussy more than anything. When he gets out he is much wiser. You can tell from the jewels he drops. My favorite.."The world going one way, people another yo". Best line in the wire. Sad but jail provides time to think and educate yourself. Something Bodie never got to do.

  • only motherfucker that made it out, smart

  • @Maplesyrup41 and naymond but he was really never in it

  • nothing but respect for bodie but Poot kept it real man, fav character on the show

  • @Clownface125 poot ran away while Bodie was being shot at, kept it real?

  • @LeBronForTheWin yea but poot was always on point with his arguments, bodie got himself killed in a way

  • @LeBronForTheWin Poot only ran away after Bodie motioned for him to leave. Bodie knew it was his time and wanted to go out fighting while his friend got away.

  • poor poot. all his friends are dead. tsk tsk

  • damn Poot is so short while Dukie grew like five fuckin inches from season 4 to 5

  • Never thought Poot, out of the original young cast of Season 1, would straighten up and get right.

Bittersweet considering he always came off as ignorant and just dumb at times in comparison to D'Angelo, Bodie, or Wallace.

  • @mk741 I think the fact that he's the only one of those 4 still alive probably entered into his decision to get out of the game while he still can.

  • @mk741 He started thinking much more like Cutty, remember when he got more exposed as a bitch when Bodie was about to be assassinated? Poot was always hesitant and just didn't have "it" in him much throughout the series. The only truly HARDENED characters throughout the series were: Bodie, Omar, Avon, Snoop, Chris, Marlo, and Mike.

  • @DeathandGrim2 Wee-Bay?

  • @DeathandGrim2 slim charles ? wee bay ?

  • @westrrt Charles woulda been one I admit, but Bay started thinking more about his kid and started looking back on his actions and regretted them if Bay was truly stone hardened for the game he woulda forced Namod to be what he really wasn't much like his wife was trying to do but realized "this shit ain't worth it, look where I'm at right now" and let his son go with Colvin and his Wife. So Bay would be one of those who started thinking like a man

  • @DeathandGrim2 And Brother Mouzone

  • @DeathandGrim2 And don't forget the legend Weebay.

  • @DeathandGrim2 Slim charles too and cheese maybe.

  • @DeathandGrim2 dont forget slim charles!

  • @mk741 he was goofy at times but he seemed more like the voice of reason to bodie's hot headedness. he also put wallace out of his misery when bodie couldnt do it. Also the time when bodie was upset that marlo had little kevin killed and poot told him that they did the same thing to wallace because stringer felt wallace was a liability just how marlo thought kevin was a liability. "it a cold world bodie..world goin one way people another"

  • So, as far as I can remember, out of all the characters in the show Poot and Namond are the only two who escaped or weren't done in by The Game. I won't say Marlo because of his last scene. Did I miss anybody?

  • Comment removed

  • @amayagab bubbles and cutty

  • @brainysmurf58 Holy Cunt Monkey! How the hell could I forget them?!

  • @amayagab lol

  • @amayagab You could count Lester's girl as well. Remember she was a stripper at Orlando's club? Not sure if she counts as being in the game tho.

  • @Antrizzle2009

    Her name's Shardene.

  • @Antrizzle2009 thats another game yo, the playas of that game are called hoes

  • Lol poot is short as fuck. He's like the Spud Webb of the dope game

  • Poot was the last surviving member of the original 1st season Barksdale crew. I don't remember Slim Charles until season 2

  • @amensupremera aint Him and Avon the only ones

  • @mabey202 Avon ended up in jail by the end of the show finishing his sentence. Poot was the only one alive and on the outside. Bird, Weebay, and Avon are all in the prison.

  • @amensupremera uhm.. Wee-bey? Avon? Bird? Shamrock? By the word surviving, you mean actually 'surviving' right?

  • @shegwin No, I mean survived as in got away scot free. Or survived on the street till the end of the show. He was the only member of the original Barksdale crew not locked up or dead. Not sure how much time Shamrock got but he was (locked up), Avon (prison), Wee Bay (life), Bird (life). But come on, did you really need me to explain that you?

  • @amensupremera Actually Poot did get locked up at the end of season 3, but he got out after a year...

  • @PharoahsKingdom Maybe people are reading my comment wrong, or I didn't write it clearly. As fas as original season one Barksdale Crew, at the end of the show, Poot was the only one not dead or locked up. All the rest were either in jail or dead. Maybe Avon's sister might count but she really wasn't in the family business so I don't think she counts.

  • Poot only got out the game coz Bodie got done, but still good to see him doing well. wouldve been good to see both of em get out.. btw, poot was unrecognizable at first coz it was so unexpected to see him, then it hit me lol

  • nigger kicking a can....that made my day :)

  • @MrElucidate ignorant asshole the only nigga i see is you

  • the store is called "Jacob's" footwear yet for some reason the employees wear referee outfits like in Foot Locker....!

  • This right here is the saddest part of The Wire. 'Doing the right thing' -- walking away from the drug trade and all that violent madness -- means working in retail for minimum or damn near close to it for people like Poot. Unless they're the next LeBron or Jay-Z, that's their only way out: right on into economic slavery. It's not surprising that most of them opt to stay in the game, even if the odds are that they'll end up in prison or dead.

  • @Thomistica

True, but you can tell he's at ease with it. At least it's easier. Character development in this show is top notch man.

  • @Thomistica

Working retail is not "economic slavery." It sucks and pays little but it's better than the drug trade and I'd bet it actually pays better than the drug trade too, so many boys in the projects want to be drug dealers that workers come cheap. The sad part about this scene is that Dukie wants to get out of the game and get a real job, but there are no jobs available, so he doesn't have any other options.

  • Poot was pretty much the sole survivor of the original Barksdale crew. erybody else either locked up or got..

  • Dukie your luck is terrible. Good for you Poot at least you got out of the game.

  • poot doing good for himself

  • I love how matter-of-fact Poot is like yeah just bang a while longer and then come back.

  • It's good that Poot/Namond turned their lives around after witnessing and realizing that the drug game was not for them. KUDOS to them!!

  • how was poot able to leave the game yet wallace was not?

  • @Chriseycarlyeah324 Poot was able to leave the game because he was under Bodie's corner. When Marlo called the hit on Bodie, Poot was there begging Bodie to run. However, Bodie went down fighting and Poot no longer had any reason to stay in the game. He had no connections since he was recently released from prison after the Barksdale fiasco and no heart to get back in anyway after his boy Bodie was murdered.

  • @Chriseycarlyeah324 idk maybe because by then poot wasnt working for nobody...all the original barksdales was gone

  • It's a neighbourhood mom n pop shop - they'll usually give a young'un a chance if they come in with the right attitude and show they are willing to work. Everybody has to start *somewhere* with no experience... At least Poot can live his life not having to watch his back. Pooer Dukie though... sad that l'il man couldn't get a fair shake.

  • @leviathan1987

Poot had plenty of heart ... but it got ripped up when Bodie got gunned down. And what motivation did he have for staying in the game? Who was there to get his back any more, who was there that he cared about? Remember Poot is the one who was always connecting ("pussy hound), always cared about connections, like his sadness when the towers were taken down.

  • naw this wasnt a footlocker this was a shoe store on eastern av in south east bmore

  • Good for him.

  • From $500.00 a hour to $5.00 a hour. Ain't life a bitch.

  • @olh1152 heh, somehow i dont think he was making $500 an hour in the pit

  • @Liface, i don't know, just a guess. i remember a scene with stringer bell and marlow and stringer bell ask if he was pulling in a million a month.

  • @olh1152 more 250 bucks a day to 6.25 an hr 220 a wk.

  • Personaly I feel Poot was more gangsta than Bodie. Bodie was stupid and reckless, he would have never made it to be a kingpin. Poot could have ran shit if he would have decided to stay in it. He was cool headed and thought about shit, and he was loyal.

  • @ThinkinAboutSex

Poot and Bodie complimented each other way. They made it pretty far considering bodie was only 19 when he got killed. He rose up from worker bee to trusted lieutenant to running his own independent operation. As even Marlo had to concede he was a rightful hustler.

  • @ThinkinAboutSex cool head dont make you gangsta...i dont think poot was more gangsta...prolly smart enough to run, thats about it

  • @cherry3749 he shouldnt of never tried to live that life no way is my point....

  • poot was a BITCH anyway

  • I remember when Bodie hit one cop and Kima, Carver, and Herc kicked his ass.

  • lol poot at footlocker... thatd be funny if like omar or marlowe had come in and mad him go get shoes for them

  • @THEfox888, Footlocker in the mall, not a storefront.

  • thats not even a footlocker. looks more like a mom and pop shop

  • @cokacowboy nah thats how footlockers look in the projects

  • i love the wire!

CHECK OUT - BREAKING BAD !!

  • Finally a real man! You have to WORK for a living!

  • so footlocker employs drug dealers

  • @goonie50 Well now that he's a shoe salesman, he's not a drug dealer anymore. That's one...

  • I don't think it was bad advice, it was the only advice he knew to give. Basically just stay alive long enough to do something different. It's messed up because the Dookie never had a chance. From day one you knew how he'd end up, even when he tried to do the right thing the deck was stacked against him. Sad.

  • What horrible advice, Poot was a interesting character.

  • nothing wrong with workin at all, i bet hes still makin more loot then dem punks on the corner.

  • what bad advice to give a kid......being that he said he got tired of the game himself.....

  • what he gonna do? a man gotta eat. either bang or starve

  • Poot may not been making more money than he did on the street, but you can't make money while your dead!!

  • would've been nice to see Bodie sell some sneakers too lol

  • ye tat woulda been hilarious lol r.i.p

  • @Apexed818 Nooooooo fuck that, them marlo would be selling shoes to, along with stringer and omar

  • what season and episode is this?

  • @TBIGMIL season 5, episode 9

  • I find it ironic how Poot went through a lot of shit throughout the series, yet he came out top in a sense in the end.

  • Yeah thats true sucks that Bodie couldn't be their with him

  • ye but i couldn't see bodie wearing them footlocker uniforms. he ain't built for that type of clothing :P

  • thats why kids is on the corners now

  • how the hell does pooy survive hes been through season 1-5 he should have died in 1 of those shootouts

  • why? he was only lucky twice. you can be that. he ran away when Bodie got shot, and he stod next to Bodie when he fired all them shots. Noone replied until Poot ran off and O Dog killed Bodie from behind. that wasnt a shootout. No one hit anything in the crew fight, so everybody got lucky there, only real luck he had was when Snoop killed the dude next to him, but not Poot.

  • LOL this scene made me laugh i dont even know why. maybe cause the uniform is so alike the one in footlocker in the UK or maybe its cause of how small poot really is =P

  • lmfaaao ! loooka poots faace and his expressionnn inn 0:30 lmfao ii waas rollin till i peed maa paants lmao !

  • "so i guess you need to bang awhile longer, then come back and see if we got something"

  • I guess selling sneakers would genereate much lesser money then selling dope, but if you dont wanna risk getting killed at work everyday this was a wise decision

  • poot was kool except for the fact that he was always talkin bout goin to the clinic from fuckin them dirty hoes...i remember stringer bell got on his ass about talkin on the phone while in the jungle

  • Cool? He fucking shot Wallace, twice.

  • Wallace had it comin he was a snitch

  • NOW THIS IS A REAL BARKSDALE SOLJER...

  • it was good to see poot off the corner... but poor dukie it was just foot locker but it would have been nice for him to make some money he would not have been fuckin wit that dope head

  • poot was my favorite characters on the show.

  • I know its a show, but ain't nobody gonna believe that Dukie is suppose to be 15 in this show.

  • why not? Some kids hit puberty early on and not to be racist but it's hard to judge how old a lot of black kids are from 13-18. and the actor wasn't that much older than 15 was he?

  • seriously, i know kids with beards that are 15.

  • i know a bunch of white bitches that only looked good from about 13-20, after they turned 21, they were as wrinkled as my nutt sacc.....they must age in dawg years, not to be racist......

  • you obviously need to look at more white women

  • i know right... he look like he bout 19 20 right there

  • he did not even look 20. lol he looked like a little boy that got tall as shit

  • oi dont remember seeing that on tv

  • Poot was probably the coolest cat on the Wire. Sick swagga too

  • some people make it out of the game......not many though..

  • in real life when your in the drug game there is no way out but death or getting locked up

  • Thats bullshit. Its up to the individual if they want to stop selling drugs or not. It different when your a gang member, If you in a gang, then your in for life.

  • true but most people get caught up and dont want out until its to late, by they time they want to get out shits caught up to poot got lucky he got before he got killed like bodie did. Just ask me i lived in bmore for 12 years.

  • so what happened to poot!. when was this? didn't he jump back in the game?

  • no, this clip is from season 5. at this point poot had had enough of the game & had moved on with his life.

  • lol i replayed the first two seconds a bit before i watched the whole thing

  • hehe. Yeah. Nice and tight huh.

  • If wallace was living what ya'll think he would be doing now or how wallace would of turn out ?

What yall think D would of been doing if he made it out of prison way before his 20 years was up ?

  • I think they both would have snitched and relocated .. living more quiet and nice lifestyles.. Wallace might have enrolled in community collage and later in life would have been a math professor

  • Why you think they would of both snitched ? you talking about poot anad wallace ?

  • Wallace was mild at heart, that was the reason he got clipped .. Mild hearted people are the easiest ones for the cops to flip, and the second dood I´m talking bout is D´Angelo .. He was ready to give up the whole thing when he saw the pics of Wallaces´dead body remember ?

  • Whats a mild hearted people ? explain that

Yes I remember did they have d angleo at the police station when they showed wallace the pictures ?

Explain how Omar was ? Why did you think Omar was so cold and ect ect because he had feelings as well ?

I knew a guy like wallace in real life

  • wallace was a righteous type of dude and mightve been a little too young, but i liked him man i thought that was fucked up for bodie to just do his friend like that

  • like everybody else, you keep on forgetting that Bodie HAD to kill Wallace, as it was an order from Stringer.

  • Bodie didnt even like him that much ,he was poot's friend.

  • Wallace was stupid and didnt understand which way was up.

  • huh?

  • He should have never come back to B'more.

  • I still think someone will kill poot tho even tho he aint in the game know more..

Where in the hell is donut ? I wonder whaat donut doing ?

Can ya'll image micheal in 5 years he already sticking up people how you think micheal will turn out or the person he would form into ?

  • Micheal prolly would end up 30 to life for murder not long after his robbing career. He wasn´t as cold and intelligent as omar

  • How do you think mike would of got caught up for a murder charge ? How long in his robbing carreer do you think he would of got caught up ? Would you be shock if spider shot mike ?

  • yeah, poot really was one of the few "success stories" so to speak. i mean, out the game, alive and not in jail (and then working a solid 9-to-5). i'm sure lots get tired of that lifestyle but i'm kinda surprised he didn't have more empathy & try 2 help dukie given he himself can testify 2 what it is 2 want more out of life and 2 actually have 2 go find it as difficult as that is, coming from the experiences he was trying 2 leave behind. so as 4 dukie, can't a brotha get a "keep ya head up"? lol

  • You need to bang a while longer, then come back" LOL!

  • Poot was always one of my fav. characters on the Wire. He reminds me of a nigga I know.

  • Poot look old as hell... How old is Poot now in this scene like 23 on the wire....

Which season they kill wallace ?
