I have an early Tremodillo made by the man--Cesar Diaz himself that is very Fender Blackface Trem circuit sounding. Chicken head knobs are foot-tweekable on stage if you are barefoot or just wearing sox!
i think it's quite ironic that Boss is hated so muchfor being considered the norm in guitar effects pedal companies, but it's being left these days so mch that it's becoming the ONLY different guitar effects company lol
Not all Boss pedals suck, case in point: the TR-2. I hadn't experienced a volume drop or any tone suck with mine, and it sounds better than the other pedals in this video. In no way is it a Tremulator, but for $75, I'll take it.
Agreed, Boss makes some great pedals. For example, the BD-2 will kill a TS-9. The DD-7 is an all analog bypass which does not digitize your guitar signal which causes lag and tone suck (unlike the Lie 6 DL4) and the TR-2's have been known to have a volume drop but this was fixed officially by Boss 2 years ago
The T-Rex sounds brighter and not as sterile as the TR-2. But the Supa Trem's warmth and versatility makes it worth its money. I know that the Line 6 Tone-Core Tremolo has a tap tempo feature, which seems very useful.
Monte Allums has an under $30 mod for the Boss TR-2 that he claims makes it comparable to the more expensive boutique tremolo pedals. Has anybody tried it or know what it sounds like?
A delay pedal takes your signal, copies it, and repeats it, creating echoes (you can do other things with a good delay besides just echo, but that's the main concept everything is based on). A tremolo pedal just turns the volume of your signal up and down at a fixed rate, as if someone had hold of the volume knob on your amp and were constantly moving it back and forth.
The red one adds treble and the black one adds mids. The green one doesn't do anything to the tone. I think it's better since tremolo is a volume modulation and therefore shouldn't effect the tone.
if you have a Hard mode on the Supa Trem then turn it off, will it still be in Hard mode when u turn it back on or do you have to press it again?...same with the speed button??
The guy has a negative opinion on someone else's boots so that makes him gay and means he has a foot fetish? I think you're a little too sensitive when it comes to other peoples' opinions about footwear.
Yet, none of this has to do with Music at all... I came here for a demo, and to hear other people's feedback on these specific pedals. Boots has nothing to do with it, it's that fact it had nothing to do with this video at all.
For what its worth, I just put this demo up to show the difference between a $75, a $200, and a $300 trem pedal. I dig the SupaTrem for me, but they all have their good, and BAD qualities...just glad to see y'all checkin out the clip...profanity is always encouraged in the Gearmanndude world, so please keep it up!
Before I bad mouth your favorite trem anymore perhaps you can answer me this: Does your Supa Trem add a sort of heavy compression to your sound when it's on? Mine did and it sounded like ASS, hence my disdain for it. It sounds o.k. on your vid, but it didn't cut the mustard trough a Bogner Shiva effects loop. Please keep making vids, GMD!
@gearmanndude GMD...I know it has been a crap ton o' time ago, and not sure if you are still rockin' the SupaTrem, but how does it act with a dirt (Luther) pedal thrown in the front of it? Demo by any chance?
Dude, you dodged a bullet. The Supa Trem BLOWS. Out of all the trems I've tried/owned, it's my least favorite. I love the Diaz Tremodillo, but it isn't true bypass and doesn't necessarily play nice with other pedals. Regardless, I think it's the best I've ever heard on the trem front. The Tremster sounds pretty cool too.
Fulltone is pretty much the same as Boss, I'm afraid, Mike Fuller is doing the same cost cutting, self serving crap that boss always has, he just charges a lot more for it.
Wow, nice reply, don't forget to take your meds. Of COURSE they cut costs. Why do you think there's four different versions of the OCD pedal? Fuller found cheaper op amps and redesigned the pedal around them. He does it quite regularly. Don't kid yourself, there are better pedals for the money. Oh, and you forgot the "h" in paperweights. Dumb ass.
Leave it to you pompous douchebag types to get their panties in a bunch about a matter of opinion and try to justify their ignorance with half assed logic. Your mom must be so proud of you. Learn how to spell, idiot...
I like the TR-2 because it has a blend knob between the hard square wave and triangle wave instead of just an on/off switch. I saw one of those boutique pedals that had a crazy amount of variations in how you could tweak the tremolo settings.
The Boss Tremolo is actually one of their better pedals. I have a Keeley modded TR-2 with the volume knob added and it's actually very good. If you have a good sound to start with, probably, alot of tremolos out there will satisfy. Good review as always.

Just me, but a trem or vibrato pedal sounds sterile compared to actual fingers or a trem bar which both sound more human and natural.

Could someone tell me what's the difference between a delay and a tremelo? It ''kinda'' does the same thing or am I missing something.
Tim8tei 2 years ago
A delay essentially echoes what you play, whilst a tremolo gives you that type of helicopter sound and cuts up anything you play through it
dirtyzine 2 years ago
a delay echoes the sounds of the guitar. like if you were to stand on a cliff and yell.
a tremolo is like if you were to yell and open and close your mouth with your hand quickly.
i hope that helped.
