  • just love this song and this band, simply awesome and still this song is awesome, timeless songs, wonder if any of the new songs that comes out these days will still be as awesome as this is 40 year after its release!

  • you think we have went bacwards in 40 years How progressive where they

  • they played at the toto concert at friday in stockholm it was great

  • Amazing!! Loves to you!!

  • this is better than the boss'

  • I bet that sounded awesome live.

  • can someone put the studio version on here it blows all the live versions away

  • das aller allerschönste Lied auf der ganzen Welt. Danke Danke für diesen Song

  • can't beat the creator. watch bruce do this at hammersmith odeon 1975

  • at the old school house Woking, I was there, had great times there its now a police station...

  • Chris has an amazing voice and with springsteen songs you cannot go wrong! i heard him sing this live at the Ocean in Hackney for the 10th anniversary tribute for freddie mercury, it was beautiful!

  • There best song even better then Blinded and Runner.

  • Actually, MM had hits with these songs BEFORE the Boss did...back when the Boss was starting out MM recorded and release several songs that were written by Springsteen

  • u must be very young not to know that MM was a very successful band in his time 4 u b b light the heat is on to name but a few were great hits by this band

  • Actually I was being sarcastic! i knew they did Blinded, but I didn't realize they covered so many Springsteen songs.

  • They covered a lot of Dylan songs too, and both Dylan and Springsteen are believed to love the MMEB versions, not only for the royalties they got from MMEB selling more recorded copies of them than they did themselves ;-). MMEB have a vast list of self-written songs both on and off charts, beginning in the sixties. Even now they tour live, which is sort of a high prize to pay for anyone their age, but possibly also the greatest reward as well. Support them, go see a show.

  • I concieved my first son to this song! Long Shall It Live. I Love You Shawn!

  • You're a real funny guy! Not to mention rude!

  • @ElAngelPerdido

6 minute conception................the rest of the album was......

    shall we say, played 'fore.

    Rock on, Shawn's Mom!

  • die live version find ich jetzt net so überragend aber das lied ist ultra geil

  • dieses LIED IST GEIL!!!! 1000* Ich könnte es mir 1000 mal anhören!!! kann mir das jemand senden??? ICQ:416 537 117

  • i could listen to it 1000 times as well, i remember when i was in the u.s. army stationed in Darmstadt, those were the days ( 1978-1981 ) i saw Manfred Mann in Heidelberg , now, im 30 years older, and live in south florida, tschuss

  • u.s. army (1979-1982), hanau; our group and division headquarters were in darmstadt.

  • hello, i was stationed in darmstadt ( elk ) from october 1978 till may of 1981, the 94th heavy combat construction company, i spent 22 months in wildflecken , 3 in aschaffenburg , where we built a repelling tower, as someone that did a good job speaking deutsch i also got to go places the regular troops were not allowed into, i was 19 when i got there, saw led zepplin in frankfurt in 1980 and manfred mann in heidelburg, that was really a unforgettable event, prost

  • wildflecken..just a few kilometers from my birthplace/hometown schweinfurt..born in 1974..many greetings from "good" old germany!:-)

  • ich auch

  • He makes me feel like singing again as I don't look half as bad.

  • great cover! where would they be without Bruce! all three of their hits are his!

  • 20 years old... but sooo cool!

  • bloody hell... warm me back. i went to school in surrey.

  • i meant 'warp me back'. i dont know what warm me back means. it's the tears... i cant fucking type now. oh blimey...

  • My all-time favourite song...!!! =)

  • its one of those great songs that sounds good no matter who sings it. i like mmeb much better then bruce. amazing how different the band looks compared to 1976.

  • Not ever knowing who the members were over the years I always thought they had the same singer all along...from "Do wa diddy.." to "Runner"...

    their voices are very similar

  • Bruce is an incredible writer. Hard to imagine but he was around 20 years old when he wrote "Blinded". But MM makes Bruce's songs so lively and they add the catchy rifts to Bruce's songs. With MM, you want to dance to the Bruce songs. With Bruce, you appreciate the grit and sweat behind the songs. You can't really go wrong with either one.

  • I never heard much until now from these guys they are really good!

  • Love the video, thanks for sharing it. MM's versions of this song and "Blinded By the Light" are so much better than Springsteen's, even though he wrote them.

  • Would create a too long discussion. To my mind Bruce's original is more intensive and fits much better to lyrics and atmosphere of this song. Watch the piano solo from 2002 Stockholm. But I admit, MMEB's version is better to dance to .

  • great song, thanx for post it.

  • disco boys live!!! :))))))))))))))))))

    *loooooooooooooooooooool*

of course. this is disco boys live ;)

  • this is disco boys live?

  • No, the Disco Boys just made a cover version of a Song which is by Bruce Springsteen. This is Manfred Manns Earth Band, who covered the song long before the disco boys were founded. However, the Springsteen version is not alike the Version by MMEA. So the Disco Boys covered the version of Manfred Mann, and this is Manfred Mann performing it live.

    Yep, that was it

  • I know it's a Springsteen tune.

But they are (to my taste) sounding so much better than he.

Though Springsteen IS an Amazing / genius songwriter.

    Thanks for the clip.

  • great voice, I dont know much about Mann's earthband but I love their songs!

  • this is awesome

  • I haven't heard this song in at least a decade. Classic Rock radio forgets Manfred Mann had more great songs besides Blinded by the Light.

  • the two MMEB biggest hits were Springsteen covers. "I came for You" & "Blinded by the Light" but they are still great recordings which gave BS more exposuer in the early days

  • I don't think they'd be nuthin, but still a couple of good versions nonetheless.

  • I LOVE this song, especially Mann's version. Isn't the song about a girl who commits suicide?

  • How many people realize this is also a Springsteen song like Blinded By The Light?Incredible rendition , but with the sorry ass state of American radio you'll never hear it on the airwaves.

  • the harmonies all everything is just perfect in this song, gosh i love the earth band :D im going to a concert with them in copenhagen in october.. *looking forward*

  • one of my favorite all time albums!

  • Thanks! My favorite Manfred Mann song!

  • Chris, you are the best!
