@tf88888888 t61's have a hd saver app that stops the disk when u move the laptop. But yea after throwing it around and so on, it finally failed after 3 years.
24 hours later, my T61 came back to life. The spill test really doesn't mean anything big, because no one would accidentally pour water so carefully like this, but this feature allow user to turn off the pc and let it dry. I have been doing some water testing on mine in the past 2 days. I poured water on it twice and it came to life after sitting more than 12 hours on the vent.
way to plop it back onto the puddle you tool, you fried all electronics because the water went through your battery and memory card/hard drive opening bays
Did you ever find a 'reset' switch that might be flipped when it detects liquid? I spilled a much less amount of coffee on my T60 and is not responding whatsoever- no leds, no boot- nothing. going to let it sit and pray now.
@Esoteric44 I didn't know if there was either. There isn't- to my knowledge. But fortunately after letting it sit for a few days, it came back to me 100%. I have no idea why, but glad it did!
@athlon866 - yeah i know lol, my computer was acting up and wanted it rebuilt by ibm under my accidental warranty so i poured water on it. It worked until i moved it and water got into the battery. If i didnt move it than it would have worked fine. My friend has the same computer and poured a bottle cap filled with water and his computer shut off for a day until it dried.
Oooooops!!! Mom!!!!!!!

seriously . you have to let the water drain away from the laptop . to just let it sit in the puddle is kinda weird.
SimpleStress 1 year ago
the keyboard drains.
but if you let it sit in a puddle where the water goes back into the fan vents you defeated the purpose

also note, shaking the laptop like that if it is not a ssd will prolly lead to hard drive failure....

I should not have done this to my T61. Somehow it didn't drain properly. I used way less water than you. It's sitting dead for a night.
