I found a fix for Xbox360. My problem was hes was stuck on the stairs. Fus Ro Dah him near the wooden door below the one you entered. then beat the shit out of him until hes on his knees and keep hitting him, until it scoots him to the door, wait for him to get up him will open the door and everything will be fixed XD!

Try wooden plates. For some reason I had better luck with those over regular plates

damn, this quest is full of bugs, 1st he doesn't move to the tower, 2nd he doesn't open the secret door, 3rd he doesn't walk the stairs to the library, 4th he doesn't open the library, 5th he gets stuck in the air, ground and walls, 6th he walkes trough the barrier, 7th he doesn't destroys the barrier at the skull...

this happened to me on PS3 but i was able to fix it by waiting till he's about to go into the temple at the beginning then entering IMMEDIATELY BEFORE him

@boose2007 just that problem 5min ago. u can push him up the stairs w/ your toon. once close to the top he will continue. hope this hlps

@Dreadric79 I tried that, he'd just stand beside the door, so I went outside and done what was done in this video and he opened everything perfectly :)

@MrBolyo1 i found a way, you can use the cheat TCL (noclip mode) go trough the door then kill a couple of sleeping guys then he suddently stands behind you (if TCL doesn't work, try restart the game)

I wouldn't upgrade to a PC and buy Skyrim so I can get around a fix a bug in a console version as this would cause a glitch in my wallet and a syntax error in my brain. Just run around map I am sure the old priest will turn up he disappear when I was at the entrance then I ran around and like the panto he was behind me

hy, first thanks 4 the help, i like that game a lot, but there are horrible bugs in there...but! have a questions with it this fix.i open the console with the 0 number.and if i type it it closes. with the num pad i cant bring in any number, and by the controll settings i too cant do anything for this problem.any help?thanks

In all honesty this game really wasn't all that buggy from launch, especially when you compare it to New Vegas. Now that was a bugged game.

@Binabik1337 It's the nature of Bethesda's games. The only thing they should get shit for is that there is a main story line quest that can bug out easily- preventing you from completing the game.

@SWKentertainment Dude every game is going to have it's bugs this game does have a couple that can screw up a quest or two but the only reason this one seems to have more is because people are finding the glitches left and right because they know that they can exploit them to get better benefits. If people didn't know about the exploitable glitches then this game would seem like it only had a couple here and there, this is a great game along with the whole elder scrolls series.

@Rhynosaucerous that truly is not it at all. people are finding glitches left and right because bethesda didn't take time to properly test it and fix the errors. this game is near unplayable on the playstation 3, it crashes CONTINUOUSLY, this has happened, other bugs have happened that prevented me from finishing some of the theives guild quests (which thankfully i could abandon and get a new one), unlootable corpses, lag, vanishing horses, the list grows larger everytime i try to play.

@Rhynosaucerous im not talking about the exploitable things, like the magic treasure chest in dawnstar, or the bugged persuasion command on an npc. im talking about real things that are wrong with this game that PREVENT people from playing it. like this bug- the quest is impossible to finish if it happens to you. impossible to finish? really? and no way to quit the quest and start over? just hope you saved recently since you had to turn off autosave so your ps3 wouldnt crash every 5 minutes?
