  • mrsyeltrik, Yes you purchase this DVD. It is titled "YOUNG AT HEART". It was produced in 2008 by FOX SEARCHLIGHT PICTURES. You can purchase in on CD UNIVERSE.COM or probably AMAZON.COM as well. It is not too expensive, and believe me, it is worth EVERY PENNY. Watching FRED KITTLE (one of the singers) perform "FIX YOU" will make you cry. I hope you buy it and like it. I think you just might.

  • FoxSearchlight, just so you know, this film is BEAUTIFUL. I own it on DVD. I am a 43 year old man and my father's health is ailing. He is 86. The music director is amazing and everytime I watch it, my heart swells. I have cried many tears watching this film and I applaud the people who made it. It makes me appreciate this weird crazy thing we call "LIFE|". Thankyou.

  • @robtuohy1 Did you make your own DVD or is it sold someplace?

  • These people are coming to my school to learn a song with us :P sweet!

  • I just learned about this because my neighbor is lifelong friends with the guy who organized, and leads the band. This is really kool.

  • Why people have to die ? :/

  • whats the name of the song the sing in the prison?

    thank you

  • @Biotektan

Hi. The song from the prison scene is 'Forever Young' by Bob Dylan.

  • I saw them in Hartford this past Friday. I sobbed when they came out, and smiled for the rest of the show. Just amazing. Don't miss them if they come around; truly inspirational.

  • If I was walking through a nursing home/retirement home and I saw all the residents singing "I wanna be sedated" I think I'd die of happiness!

  • I watched this last night on Independent Lens. I had no idea it was a movie in theaters. Very heartwarming.

  • You have got to see the line dancers in "White trash trailer mama"on you tube it's well worth the visit they really kick up the floor

  • I sobbed for the whole movie. So beautiful. So heartbreaking. They are amazing.

  • @tubbymctubsta

Enough with excuses, quit complaining, and live life. Period.

  • Have you heard Young@Heart is coming to NYC? They are playing at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn later this month

  • enjoy this preview-

  • They were wonderful in every way. Tokyo performance was a superb, marvelous and full of energy. They gave us "youth" and health. If they can can, why can't we?! You can can, We can, can.

  • I saw the movie March 23, 2010 in Tokyo. A marvelous movie! They are now in Japan and I am going to enjoy their performance (or rather, join them) Mar. 27 evening in the Orchard Hall, Bunkamura, Tokyo. I can hardly wait for the occasion.

  • The trailer can't hope to capture the true spirit of this documentary. It's available on Netflix ya'll, so go order it and put it at the top of your cue. These folks exemplify how powerful music is, and you'll fall in love with them instantly.

I DARE you to try and fight back the tears when Fred Knittle sings "Fix You" by Coldplay.

  • I'm watching it now, its a great movie....

  • all of his movies — the loneliness. See this film free @ Movie Watcher. US

  • For the record: this has caused me to seriously rethink my plans for my own retirement. (Can I sign up now to audition in 40 years?....)

  • This film fills my heart with HOPE, inspires me to sing and dance every day, makes me forget the sad things and focus in my life now. I want to keep my brain busy. Young at Heart Choir are so inspirational. They are real and they teach me so much.

THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR THE MOVIE.I Love PBS Indep Lens

  • I lost both my parents in the last 6 years, so I cried at the fact that they never lived to be like these vibrant seniors. I hope to be like them...full of piss and vinegar!

  • I also watched the film last night on pbs. It was wonderfully uplifting. I'm 55 yrs young and now I feel even younger now.

  • Watched it last night too. I was either laughing, jamming or crying. And I am a 45 year old professional musician that sometimes feels down or like quitting. The music never dies. I will play and sing until I can't.... My band also does most of these tunes!

  • Great trailer! Looks like a great movie!

  • I happened across this film on PBS last night. I couldn't turn it off! What a wonderful group of people...they are so inspiring!

  • As the director of the film (genuinely), I just want to say a huge thanks to all who watched it and were as moved to laughter and to tears as we were when we made it with this incredible group of people. It certainly changed my life. Stephen Walker, London.

  • No, THANK YOU!

    Laughter, Sadness but hope.

I laughed till I cried .., and cried at the beauty of these wonderful people and the courage they had in doing what they are doing. I wish they would come to San Diego...

  • one of the best movies i have ever seen.

I do treasure it, and the feelings that I had

  • I could not properly express how good this movie is, see it, buy it, treasure it

  • Sure to warm your heart and inspire...oh and oodles of tears and giggles.

  • See it and your heart will smile

  • I bought this video (the film) on iTunes the other day. Let me tell you, its one of the best films you'll ever hope to see. These folks are amazing.

I could have done with a little less of the director (of the film) injecting his "humor" into the film, there were times that I would have punched him in the head if I could.

That being said, the film did an amazing job making me care so deeply about 24 people in less than 90 minutes. Simply brilliant.

  • I saw this film at the Curzon Soho and was totally blown away! I was inbetween laughing and crying the whole way through. It's showing throughout the country in selected cinemas over the next few weeks, so check out the nearest one to you, and make sure you get to see it whilst it's on!

  • The best movie I've seen in years! I laughed and cried so much watching it.
