DDT stopped lots of things, unfortunately it became political....After loses 50 million a year due to malaria, which DDT stops...fruit flies, bed bugs....Whatever pesticide is being used now is not good. Organic fruit is ok, as long as it is soaked for hours in a bag...but I used to eat regular Apples, Pears, peaches, apricots, plums, etc....then didn't eat fruit for 23 years...Only now, with the help of my doctor, am I able to eat some things....

I had my 1st allergic reaction (apples, that day) in 1986. I was 12. I'm very careful and after more than 23 years have now started to soak any fruit (nuts are still suspect) and only "organic" fruit. I have an Epi Pen with me at all times, just in case someone starts eating a pear around me (the smell can set me off). Honestly, I think the reason it's on the rise is because of the disuse of DDT. Whatever pestiside is being used now, it can't come close to what DDT did.

Watching this video kinda makes me realise how lucky i am to be alive cos about 4 years ago when i was 10, i had a severe anapylactic shock to cashew nuts and it took about 20 minutes for the ambulance to get to me. I could barely breath. id never tasted casshew nuts before so i didnt know what to expect. I have epipens now just incase another one occurs

Allergy is not mostly genetic! It's because of highly selective food habits from childhood.

And I blame it on the parents!

I too had allergy from egg, soy and prawns ( not life threatening though) . My parents made me eat very little amount and the moment I develop rashes , they gave me anti allergic pills. Slowly and slowly i increased the intake of its food quantity and now I am not allergic to anything! I gulp dozen egg whites in a day!

Go play in dirt and eat everything!

This is all because of Genetically modified food, corporations are turning crazy to discover their Genetically modified food seeds and Food allergies are a result of those. Friends I advise to have as much organic food as possible and avoid eggs and sea food which is not good for human consumption. Sea animals are already contaminated with the trash we have thrown in seas and oceans.

No, scientist believe it's because parents don't let their kids get dirty anymore (plus all the hand sanitizers). The body begins seeing everything as an antigen. Do you even know how GMO works?
