How has God proven his contempt for you? By showing His love for you, by sending His Son to take your place in judgment? To bear the awful load of God's righteous wrath, and just punishment of your sin? Christ died in your place. He credited His righteousness, and holiness to you, so that God could forgive you and adopt you as a son. That the gates of Heaven would swing open to you, and you could enjoy a relationship with Him forever. That, is how God has proven His contempt for you?

Only Christ can define that term and relationship. Are you saying Christian scholars don't believe Christ knew what he was saying? The language has been around for a long time and is clear. And the New Testament comports with the Old testament to make a compelling case for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

A true Christian is marked by a sincere, passionate love for Christ, the Scriptures, and the Truth. Do you even know why Christ was born? This verse is clear. Mark 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. Jesus Died for our sins, but it is only through conversion that our sins may be forgiven. And once converted, one shall sin no more. When we turn to Jesus and walk as he walked and believe and practice all he did, we are true followers of Christ.

The error is all yours, not his. Dr Stanley never said that it is OK to sin. He never inferred that in any way. That is completely contrary to everything he has ever said on the subject, ever written on the subject, and contrary to the life he has lived. Dr Stanley is no false apostle. And where did he ever claim to be an apostle? He is not a deceitful worker, and you had better take care to watch out for yourself. The Bible says: Touch not God's anointed. You have slandered him.

My point was that of one being (me) is not four beings. Even though it may be hard for you to understand, or comprehend, there is nothing illogical about the trinity. It is not a logical fallacy for one being to exist in three persons as the Bible presents the one true God. You may not like it, and certainly that's clear from your rejection of this foundational Christian doctrine. However, the trinity is clearly taught in the Bible, you either believe it or not. It is no problem for God.

I think caring about your neighbors is the important message. I don't think it matters whether you believe in God. If he/she exits I am sure they would not be so insecure that they would deny someone entrance to the Pearly Gate just because they didn't believe in him. I would have thought that all religions that preach kindness should be equally valid, not just Christianity. Its funny how all religions claim to belong to the one true God. Maybe they are all the same God?

I would then take your car keys and make sure I have the key to your home and just move in. Any expenses involved I'd just charge to one of your credit cards. And there are some hard realities that you need to think through before you find yourself standing before Him.

@DPMosteller Hello again. I think my point really is the following. Even if someone stole my keys, car, house, savings etc, I would never let them burn for all eternity in hell. I still wouldn't hesitate to rescue them. Even my worst enemies, I would save them, because very few people deserve such a terrible fate. If there only crime was to not be aware of me or believe in me, then I certainly would save them. I would image that God would show at least the same level of compassion. Wouldn't you?

With all due respect, you missed the point again. Initial point: God is sovereign over His creation. Just as you have rights, God has rights. You are not God. As a sinful finite creature you certainly have no basis or standing to sit in judgment of your infinitely Holy, Righteous and Just Creator. None! For that you should be ashamed. What more do you suggest God do to show His love for you? He poured out all of His wrath for your sin and rejection, upon His own Son Jesus Christ.

I imagine that God would be too mature and confident and loving to punish somebody simply because they are not Christian. What chance would Indian Hindus, or Japanese buddhists, or Arab muslims, or Chinese Taoists, agnostics, or athiests have of entering heaven if God took this stance. A lot of kind and decent people would be sent to hell. Wouldn't that be wrong?

If we refuse to worship him then there's only one place for them who refuse to worship him. He says in one of the commandments to have no other God's or idols. :) I'm glad God has always been there for me and that he gave me salvation. I really think God is awesome:) He is wonderful. You're in for the surprise of your life. You will spend eternity regretting your rejection of Jesus Christ's death on a cross in your place, and God's loving kindness, and provision toward you in offering His Son as a sacrifice for your sin. Im sorry but how could god care about humans, when after all we are nothing in this universe. If you multiply the circumference of earth and find the distance of the orbit of earth around the sun and calculate how much we are in motion in the universe for one year is 2.6 x 108 km/year.. divide it by light years equivalance to km, then multiply by 80 years (avg age of human being) and then we get .003 light years.. so we are only alive for .003 light years.. so why would godgiveashit about nothin
