It's actually a hacked ISO of the game, with voice clips from the Japanese version pasted over the ones in the English version. Hence the reason they call it an "undub"

The jewel gives you 10% recovery to HP and TP gradually. Think of it as a better Holy Symbol and Spirit Symbol combined.

Yeah, it's the result of Asch getting 198 levels with the Tutti Core. No herbs for defence. And his armor makes practically no difference compared to his default Maestro Robe.

Yes, but Asch can't equip either without a hacking device.

The Jewel is BOTH a key item and an accessory.

You just use equipment mods to replace his Maestro equipment. Save, then reload without codes. Have you checked my Asch guide at gamefaqs?

Also, make sure you're not using my codes in conjunction with any encrypted ones that might've come on your device already. Make another game entry on your game list just for my codes if you have to. One final note, using any more than 3 lines of code for equipment mods crashes the game.

Go to gamefaqs and check out my Asch Guide for all the info you need. There's a method using a hacking device, and one without. I use a combination of the two though.

Question. Do you have a modified ps2? I only recently heard of the undub version as I was trying to get the iso to play on my ps2 emulator. So im wondering if you got the undubbed version to play on your ps2, because the gameplay seems way too crisp and fast to be on an emulator.

If you use codes to get rid of his Maestro equipment, Asch can equip everything Luke can (except the Nebilim).

Correction, it's most likely "Take up the Cross" from ToP(Ya know, for Mint). "Ability Test" was a remix of it. A battle theme from each of the Tales games the cameo team members come from got put into "Everlasting Fight"(the music in the cameo fight).

This match was done as more of a test than anything. The capturing device had such a bad delay with the controls. The one I have now is decent at least. Anyway, if you want to see a tough no healing/JoL battle, watch the solo one I did with Nebilim. (Though I plan to redo the cameo battle later also)

How were you able to withstand the Strike and Fonic Artes? Did you add something to Steel?

Level 200 with all Tuttie level ups makes you quite resistant to fonic artes. IIRC, I even reduced his Mag Res CC stat by half for this battle. Also, Steel had a Grass Chamber.

I think it's the way the Undub is made. The English voices remain for when they get hurt, but it's Japanese otherwise.

check out afterdawn for good tutorials on dvd brands and dvd burning. you want to go with good dvds, preferably DVD-Rs since they're better for playback. and 2.4x is a good speed for ps2.

Um, and now a question.. I have the undub... Are there any places with perhaps an english script to the vids in the game? I'd kind of like to know what's going on in the movies.

No unfortunately. Skit voices were dummied out of the NA version, so it would take quite some reprogramming to make an undub with voiced skits.

I know, but this was mostly a test run of my old capturing device. It was ridiculously hard to play well at all because there was a nasty delay in response with the controller. So this was just to show off Asch being in the coliseum, it was not a real show of skill. The delay forced me to drastically adjust my timing for spell cancels and combos, that was HARD.
