Everything that is homebrew for psp needs a cfw unless your psp is official firmware 1.50. But NEVER upgrade to an offical firmware above 1.50 because then you can't play any homebrew and use any themes.

You need CFW and to make it look like the way it did in the video you need to flash your psp or play it safe and use a CTF theme. But the main thing is u need CFW

If hes doing illegal things with his PSP like downloading iso games, and if somehow hes sending his psp to sony (if its broken/warranty), then they often search in forums or youtube if someone got this MAC adress. If they find a matching adress, and a vid or sth where your psp has an iso on it, then they can fucking sue you or report you to the police. So its Important... only If you do legal things its not very dangerous.
