One of the best videos for reflective mood on YT. What a spacious, dreamlike landscape - the low Victorian bridge blurred in the distant sunlight, the aged tree stooping in the foreground; a peaceful parkland free of life's turmoil...set off by Farrar's voice filled with yearning, lamenting what has been lost (to be sure her annunciation is impossible). Joggers lope past, lovers, family tells children the mahogany box is a time machine. The hypnotic power of the past. Thanks for posting.
With her Met debut in 1906 opposite Caruso, Geraldine Farrar became one of the most popular celebrities in America. Some 50+ years later she was interviewed by Kevin Brownlow, author of "The Parade's Gone By," a great book on Silent Film, which Farrar also appeared in, albeit briefly. Recall how impressed he was at her friendly, down-to-earth nature, lacking in any trace of the haughty diva. How nice. Thank you for posting this! Cheers, etc. CurzonRoad --
nice video, and very pleasant sounding recording coming from your VV-50. It`s playing in it`s natural surroundings....outside and in a park setting. thanks for posting.
