Good video. I've only seen Tea Partiers as the pawns of big corporations and billionaires like the coke brothers, and usually ignorant or unable to elucidate the facts behind their ideas, to boot. I didn't know they actually had valid arguments that I already agree with.
your government is a corporation and cares little about its cattle (you) just as long as you are sedated enough with false hope and information long enough to sneak more dirty legislation that takes all your freedoms away, right under your nose. wake up! tea partiers want smaller government and founding fathers ideals, bigger government only means smaller you, fewer rights and more taxes for everyone (except the mega rich theyre always exempt, they own the corporation duh..)
The tea party are republicans not a third party. Everyone pays taxes & the constitution guarantees the right to vote for all citizens not tax paying citizens even if they didn't. We do have regulation & we're better off for it so we don't live in our filth or make toys with lead in them as they do in China and then to top it off the idea that the tea party wants a happy medium to anything is laughable. You can try hard to make the Tard party sound reasonable but your candidates prove otherwise.
Having a black man on the GOP prez-hopeful list doesn't prove you're not a bigot. Actually electing one might, though. Let's see how it turns out, if Herman Cain gets 10% of the vote in the primaries, I'll acknowledge that Tea-types aren't racist.
(Gosh, someone holding you up to your own standards... that's gotta be anti-American! LOL)
@cornstar5 You're a damn fool. It would be a liberal to elect someone based on the color of their skin and not the content of their character, or their views. People not voting for Cain would be for a million and one different reasons, none of which because he's a black man.
Anyone see what's happening in London ? Anyone think that couldn't happen here if prez bho tells poor people the GOP wants to take away their free lunch ? Open your eyes people & get a fire detector or........
Neither mendacious corporations nor inept governments should be trusted with our welfare. Both are merely concerned with perpetuating their own power far and above their concern for other human beings. The only path out of this is for people to take responsibility for their own lives and cooperatively solve their problems. Don't vote, do something.
I have a higher IQ than something like 95% of the population, so I'll bite. The problem with capitalism- straight capitalism that is, a mixed economy is fine- is ruthless profit focus and general greed. For instance, diseases aren't cured, they're treated. There's no money in fixing problems. That, plus the rich usually hoard wealth. With 1950's (a prosperous era) age 70-90% tax rates, it gets circulated around. Moot cause I'm an anarcho-syndicalist/resource economy, but meh.
@Dustindarninvalid Saying that rich people "usually hoard wealth" in an unfounded generalization. Rich people get rich by understanding the flow of money. They could lose it all, but create it again because of their fundamental understanding of how money works. The poor were never taught and will always find a way to be poor, unless they learn how money works. Do you actually know any of these rich "hoarders"? They pay the most taxes and are quite charitable.
@thepulls Actually many people become poor from events that are not under their control and your statement is a horrible misunderstanding of the cause (lack of education is not the only cause of poverty). The number one cause of personal bankruptcy in this country in the past decade has been caused by health issues, financial burdens and loss of assets and the ability to create income due to disease and injury and the escalation of costs in the health care industry.
@unquietsoul Becoming poor can happen suddenly. Staying poor or always being poor is a result of mindset. We all have control over our response circumstances in most cases. Start looking for ways to not be poor and you'll find them. Then it takes action. A poverty mindset will freeze you in your tracks. It's all a belief system that you can opt out of at any time, but then it takes work too. Blaming outside forces for your circumstances will always keep you in poverty.
@thepulls I have a relative who was in a nearly fatal car accident where the other driver was at fault and the investigating officer on the scene 'lost' the information regarding to other driver that hit her. The Insurance company who she had a $1million policy with has dragged the case thru the courts for 7 years hoping she would die so they would not have to pay. Permanent brain damage, physical impairment and loss of a $100k a year income. Guess What... mindset has nothing to do with it.
@unquietsoul Definitely tragic, however you are talking about extreme minority examples which aren't representative of the population at large, despite the tragedy. In this particular case though, it seems you agree that insurance companies are the root of these hold-ups that you speak of. My point about mindset is that I could give you $1 mil dollars and I'm willing to bet you'd be poor again in a year.because you are looking for things outside of yourself to fix your problems instead of in
@thepulls I had a friend pass away 2 years ago, a good Libertarian Republican, who left $20k of debts for his family to deal with from the combination of the ambulance and hospital time (1 overnight stay) when he had a fatal blood clot caused heart attack. Why? Because he had no insurance. Why? Because he believed insurance was unnecessary and an infringement on his rights (he opposed the Massachusetts Health Care Law and Didn't pay into it). Republican Principles Killed Him.
@unquietsoul Insurance in most forms is not necessary. Health care is though. Health care would also be a lot less without all of the red tape associated with insurance companies. If your friend would have had a high deductible policy, there would not have been a $20k debt. It's really unfortunate what happened to your friend, but this one-size -fits all approach to health insurance does nothing to solve the root problem... insurance companies standing between doctor and patient.
@thepulls Hoard Wealth? How about... Steve Jobs... who did not give anything to charity according to all accounts (unlike the philanthropy work of Bill Gates). I think he'd count as a hoarder.
Lots of people by the way do not earn their money. They Inherit it. That's been true for many many centuries. George Bush is an example of this. Except for politics and his National Guard Service he worked in the oil business (where he lost money).
Those evil rich people make too much money... hahahah. oh my. Can I get everybody registered in an economics class? Here is the bottom line: If you want rich people to pay for the government to do as it pleases, don't ask them for anything else... jobs, a good 401(k), products, engineering, . . . Why the fuck do people hate capitalism?.. is it some kind of a joke? I am smarter than 90% of the population, please debate me... please try to call me stupid!! hahah, I will ruin you , haha.
@dolst WTF are you talking about? Yes Va does require you to buy car insurance. If you lapse for even 5 minutes you get fined $500 bucks and they suspend your license until that fine is paid. 5 minutes. Insurance companies are required to report lapses of any kind. So you don't live here or are ill-informed
"The $500 Uninsured Motor Vehicle (UMV) fee, which is paid to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), does not provide any insurance; it only allows you to drive an uninsured vehicle at your own risk."
That is not a requirement to be insured, but it is a very heavy-handed "incentive" to be insured.
@dolst If that were how it worked sure. I live here. Quote mining does you no good. It's $500 to receive an sr 22 have to be re-insured 35 license re-in statement fee and possible court costs. Been through it twice myself.

WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT, THE MANDATE IS NOT MAKING PEOPLE EAT SPINACH, ITS REGULATING HOW YOU PURCHASE IT.
@jaa93997 No, that's not correct. Especially since I'm not a member of the Tea Party...just a libertarian. Funny though, how often people who don't like the tea party will resort to using racism as a tactic to discredit their opposition. "A beaner"??? What the hell does that have to do with a group of people who want the government to operate within the rule of law? Sad tactics. As for being a hick, that'd be pretty hypocritical for a Wyoming boy to call someone else lol.
You failed to spell the word "rely" correctly even with youtube's spell check function. Your assertion that "tea baggers" use "big bad ass fancy words" to confuse the average joe is quite funny. Big bad ass words like "rely"? Every member of the tea party that Ive ever heard speak used plain english to make his / her point. Your limited vocabulary and inability to understand plain english is your own personal problem and not that of the tea party.
@MOTOWNFOREVER What does Fox News have anything to do about this? And yes, I have listened to several songs he has sung, it's disturbing. I also know he named his daughter after a convicted cop killer. But I wasn't talking about his songs, just the fact he's against interracial marriages. And give me an instance where a Tea Party has been racist. Liberal's call everyone they can't beat in an argument racist. And bringing up random things that have nothing to do with the subject. (Fox News, etc.)
@karaokeregret YOU NEED TO LEARN GRAMMAR AND ARE STUPID AND IGNORANT JUST LIKE A TEA BAGGER IS! I only stated a few politicians like Rand Paul and Sharon Angle are Tea Baggers and Republicans. But you know what not only are a few of the idiots Repukes they are Racist... Boolyah Shut up you lose...
@MOTOWNFOREVER Just like a Liberal, take the attacks personal when you don't even know the person. You need to calm down, you sound childish. And yes, but in the video they didn't say the Tea Party represented the Republicans solely, you simply stated a few Republicans that have most of the Tea Party at their backs. And oh, something else Liberals use to distract from the topic when they are losing an argument. If what you say is true, how do you explain Allen West, Herman Cain, etc. ?
@karaokeregret FIRST OF ALL YOU INSULTED ME PERSONALLY FIRST! Well even though I m moderately liberal and proud of it, I agree with you that the Tea party has a few Reverse thinking people of color. Just like a true Conservative just because you know a few and you have black friends does not mean the tea party are not bigots.
@MOTOWNFOREVER 1. Calm down buddy. 2. Saying your ignorant isn't exactly a personal insult. 3. How is the Tea Party racist? It seems if you disagree with someone, your racist. 4. I am going to go personal now, your an idiot. The Tea Party is racist? Oh please. Also, are you aware your hero, Barack Obama, invited a man ("Common", along with others) to the White House, who thinks interracial marriages are wrong? But no, you don't hear anything about that with the bias Liberal mainstream media.
i might not want mandated healthcare but you have government funded medicare. Tea partiers are repubs explain ron paul sarah palin michelle bachmann scott brown allen west???? these are not independents but an r after their name?
@MOTOWNFOREVER 1. You really need to learn proper grammar. 2. Your very ignorant, saying a few people in the Tea Party who are Republicans doesn't mean everyone is, many are independent, and even a few are democrats.
It is not about stopping people paying when they get sick, it is about the fact that medical insurance companies view people as investments, and therefore will not insure people who have pre-existing conditions. The solution to this problem is a solution the tea-party opposes, a publicly run health insurance company which will force costs down.
One more comment (as If I hadn't commented enough!):
"even if you tax people at 100% you wouldn't be able to balance the budget"
This shows that you don't even know the difference between deficit and debt. The DEBT is a bit over 100% of GDP, however the DEFICIT (the actual amount needed to balanced the budget) is about 11% in the worst of the recession. (we've been running 4% prior), so taxes actually wouldn't have to go up all that much in historical terms to balance the budget.
So how come these tax cuts didn't kick our economy during the Bush years like you claim? The economy (for other reasons) ended up blowing a huge value-asset bubble which burst with catastrophic consequence. This reduced economic activity which in turn generated far lower tax revenue at a time when expense increased - unemployment, along with economic stop gaps such as TARP, Stimulus. Soon your $750B+ structural deficit DOUBLED to what we have now.
The CBO predicted a 1.2 T deficit the first year O took office. Bush started two VERY expensive wars, expanded medicare costs AND cut taxes. These commitments (along with a desire to continue the tax cuts) created a STRUCTURAL deficit.
Much of Bush's spending was done off budget - via legislative appropriation - so the REAL deficit did not show in the BUDGET deficit. If you look at raw debt, you'd notice the AVERAGE annual deficit during the bush years was around $750 BILLION.
Funny how you engage in stereotyping whilst trying to fight stereotyping. Hypocrite.
The printing of money serves to devalue the debt (really share it with all of us) as well as prevent a deflationary spiral. Look up (on wikipedia) what a deflationary spiral is and how damaging it can be. The fact of the matter is that policy is working - companies are now sitting on some of the largest cash reserves in recent history. Watch for mergers and acquisitions as well as stock repurchase.
"even if you tax people at 100% you wouldn't be able to balance the budget"?
100% tax is ridiculous, but this is patently false. Many effective tax rates are relatively low in historical terms.
After the spending in WWII spurred massive infrastructure development (not saying all spending DOES), the highest marginal rate reached 91% and the US had one of the greatest periods of prosperity in history. The newly built factories made products all the world wanted. The middle class prospered.
Just like "buying across state lines" is supposed to be good for us. People don't consider that this also means "selling across state lines" is the other side of that coin. States gut consumer protection to attract insurers to locate to their states and we have a race to the bottom. Soon all insurers are only located in one or two states that have gutted protections - just like in the credit card business.
And this: Are the needs or miseries of one human being a mortgage on the freedom of another?
That's the ONLY question that needs to be answered because government must either protect the individuals "Right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness", or the government must force one person to be another’s keeper (from each according to his ability to each according to his need". It MUST be one or the other…Period!
If you hire the government to force others to give you what YOU want, you have no right to complain when others hire the government to force you to give them what THEY want.

SINCE the making of this video:
1) We had a credit downgrade and many clothes were rent over the whole notion of the devaluation of this country as a whole due to overspending
2) Obama was defeated, smacked down.
3) The Tea Party moniker has been co-opted by a bunch of nutcases
4) Obama has revved up EXACTLY the kind of language I put in the mouth of the socialist. "Paying their fair share", "greedy corporations" etc.
Seen this story before. It doesn't end well.

karaokeregret 9 months ago

MOTOWNFOREVER 9 months ago
@MOTOWNFOREVER 1. You really need to learn proper grammar. 2. Your very ignorant, saying a few people in the Tea Party who are Republicans doesn't mean everyone is, many are independent, and even a few are democrats.

It is not about stopping people paying when they get sick, it is about the fact that medical insurance companies view people as investments, and therefore will not insure people who have pre-existing conditions. The solution to this problem is a solution the tea-party opposes, a publicly run health insurance company which will force costs down.

well said however the other video has merit as well.

Oh I forgot to mention the CBO 1.2 T deficit prediction was early Jan - before O even took office.
garveymf1969 10 months ago
So how come these tax cuts didn't kick our economy during the Bush years like you claim? The economy (for other reasons) ended up blowing a huge value-asset bubble which burst with catastrophic consequence. This reduced economic activity which in turn generated far lower tax revenue at a time when expense increased - unemployment, along with economic stop gaps such as TARP, Stimulus. Soon your $750B+ structural deficit DOUBLED to what we have now.
garveymf1969 10 months ago

Good luck buying private health care when you need it, when you're already sick
Good luck suing health care companies after they've dropped you while recovering from a fatal health problem that you are now dying from
Good luck suing them period
Good luck applying your arguments to the real world
I'lI have to admit a lot of your points make sense though, and would have been sound arguments
if they weren't based on highly subjective and opinionated theories instead of true facts and statistics
darkmusentertainment 10 months ago
@darkmusentertainment - agree.

It MUST be one or the other…Period!
sgapplebee 11 months ago
It all comes down to this:
If you hire the government to force others to give you what YOU want, you have no right to complain when others hire the government to force you to give them what THEY want.
