CHRIST died and was resurrected like jonah other wise why menton it,in the book of jonah chapter 3 verse 2 God said arise some translations say get up;compare this with ;dorcas who died and then was resurrected ,the fist word was arise ,or say jarius daughter the same words,arise ,just a thought;the jews in those days new what he said when referring to Jonah.
i would like to challenge the story ;was jonah dead or a live for 3days and 3 nites. jonah 2.2 belly of hell. 3.2 arise cf with jaris daghter arise ,like the song.
I believe he was alive though I'm sure he believed that he'd died and that fish's belly was his "grave" (NIV). I'm not sure about your 3.2 comment. Thanks for posting!
'u probaly disagree but i belieave that the reason jesus constantly said like Jonah ;means exactly that.he arose from the dead after 3days and 3nites and then has if nothing happened was fit enough to go for a walk and preach repentance to the ninivites.
Actually, Jonah was avoiding the city of Ninevah, not Tarshish.
