Hypnotic ending......................hearing this in the early seventies after a long war in Vietnam, social unrest, inflation, corporate and government malfeasance......still had hope for a brighter future, these songs were inspiring.........:)
A Time For Everything Once it seemed there would always be a time for everything. Ages passed I knew at last my life had never been. I'd been missing what time could bring. Fifty years and I'm filled with tears and joys I never cried. Burn the wagon and chain the mule. The past is all denied. There's no time for everything. No time for everything.
This song tells me that maybe everything I put a priority on in my youth turned out to be worthless once true wisdom was finally attained - things like love and joy so full that it could bring you to tears...and what a shame all the time that's been wasted on materialism.
Of course, there are annotated lyrics to read about on the web, but they're just somebody's opinion as well.
technical ability, accessibility, insightful lyrics...the list goes on and on and on..one of the greatest bands ever!!!!

THIS BAND HAS THEIR OWN DISTINCT SOUND, LIKE NO OTHER GROUP.

I think Jethro Tull have more good songs than virtually any other band. Only the Beatles can compare. This song is tops - speaks to me.

I usually hear this on my portable CD player. And it is good to know that that piercing sound at 1:21 is on purpose, and that my CD isn't broken.
