The only reason SR2 is fast is because it doesn't fully support Windows 7 and when a game runs slow it's mainly tech failure. There's no problem with the game it's the computer.

For me cheat engine worked better coz the game didn't crash at cinematics. Best speed for my comp turned out to be 0.65 (synced with my brothers winXP computer /w CO-OP function) while 0.75 was good when using Powertools

Works fine on v1.0. Crashes on all other patches.

Small Fixes and tweaks aren't going to fix this awful port. It's like putting a band aid on a festering wound. Probably the worst PC port I've seen in my life.

Saints Row 3 is much better.

I've done the steps listed for installation in the readme of powertools, but do not know how to change the gamespeed (what to change in Powertools.ini) . PLEASE HELP

@DaftPunk105 The last line in powertools.ini has the speed. it should say 1.0. Change it to 0.75 or whatever you want and it should work.

I read around alittle and it seems that Steamless versions will make the game crash during cutscene after the change.

Right now i got to live with constant tabbing out and changing speeds during gameplay and cutscenes...this is ridicoulus.

Then i downloaded cheat engine, and it worked fine, but in cutscenes sound is going too fast and movement of the characters is slow... So i can't figure out what is happening in cutscene. @feffecrazy well, it still doesnt work effectively. i uninstalled it when i got finished, it works for the characters, and the vehicle speed is somewhat fixed, but i discovered later on that it doesnt work effectively with the vehicles and when u try to turn it throws your hard left or right.Id advise that you get the game onthe 360/ps3. the makers will more than likely not come out with a patch for the pc.the same issues happened with gta4, those type of games really are not designed for the pc

works great ingame, just not during cutscenes. subtitles are way too slow compared to what the characters actually say. At 1.00 the subs disappear even before you can read them.

@shadowfied I started a diversion measured the time it took for 20 seconds to pass in the diversion timer and 20 seconds to pass in real life then used basic percentages to find out how much to subtract from 100 (the default speed percentage).

I worked out that in order to get the time exactly right you should set the speed percentage to: 0.5168674699 and not 0.75.

And yes you should've gotten a console version instead cause the PC version is a joke. The only possibly good thing about the PC version is that you can remove the censoring.

Disregard my previous comment, it appears it was just for the beta version. I managed to get the r5 Powertools working for razor's version, but unfortunately the cutscenes slow down with the game with Powertools as well.

@l2dae2dav2dai Try reinstalling Cheat Engine, make sure you have the latest version etc. There's supposed to be a file called "speedhack-i386.dll" in the Cheat Engine installation folder.

Also try disabling your firewall.

@ZivkoC Powertools will only work with the encrypted Steam version of the game. If it's crashing on start that's almost definitely a problem with Direct X. Try to update your Direct X libraries directly from Microsoft. Links and further troubleshooting for Powertools can be found on the Steam SR2 forum in the SR2 PC FAQ.

@ZivkoC You can also try running windowed instead of fullscreen. The game actually is more stable and performs better windowed, believe it or not. Also, the current build of Powertools has a problem where it will crash like that for some users if it loses focus while in fullscreen.

@Lemur14 That means that you need to run it in Administrator mode O.o Also the PowerTool thing will crash your game after the prison escape if your using Razor. Best thing to do is just use the cheat engine and alt tab out and disable speed hack before a cut scene. And its fine doing it this way, I pirated the game because there is no certainty even from PowerTools that if I get this game it will work 100% on my computer. I rather save my money for SR2 3 where its actually made for Win 7.

ATTENTION! Power tools crashes at cinimatics and missions if you have a cracked (illegal) version of saints row 2. It was designed and will only work with the 100% legal version downloaded from steam!

Crashing on cutscenes with Powertools indicates a problem with your Direct X. Try updating your libraries and/or running windowed instead of fullscreen. There's a bunch of troubleshooting steps and other info in the SR2 PC FAQ I recently posted on the SR2 Steam forums.
