If selling out means trying to imitate popular rock bands by changing to a lighter sound and thereby make more money, then I'd have to say they're not sell-outs, just experimentationators. A Sense of Purpose and Soundtrack to your Escape were definitely not intended to please die-hard, strict death metal fans, but they hardly made the band more mainstream. If anything, they sound "weirder." I personally like it and understand if you don't, but don't go around screaming sour grapes...please.
