  • Im watching this vid on the same netbook! XD

  • @Dannny5564 The newer mini 110 all come with a 6 cell battery and windows 7 starter for the atom 455 single core processor $250 battery life is 8 hrs or less and the mini 210 comes with the dual core processor and windows 7 home premium $299 Battery life is only 5hrs or less

  • Has anyone noticed that those stickers are the hardest thing to get off on earth

  • @suparapfan I sometimes need to use a pocket knife to lift off the edge, then I use the sticky parts of the sticker to pull off the gunk that remains.

    - Jason

  • im gettin my hp mini 110 for only bout $250 but it is a 6 cell battery not 3 cell

  • I bought 110-3100er, 6-cell battery, Windows 7, 1024x600, 250 gb, GMA3150, 1.66 Ghz and 2 Gb RAM.

    $460. Good choise i think.

  • haha CC at 0:27 haha

  • there's a smiley at 5:48!!! just my imagination. thanks for psoting this video. it helped me decide on getting the dual core version of HP Mini 110 :)

  • Thank You~)Your vid help me a lot on deciding which mini netbook I should buy :)

Im from Taiwan and I just bought my Hp Mini 110, the hard cover was like yours instead is like the HP Mini 1000 and at first when I saw it I was totally freak out and was like WHAT! Later, I notice what it says in the bottom of the manual "paper(1 big piece of paper) It says that the hard cover is different in every continent" Thank god, yes, it was the HP Mini 110 and in my opinion,it was great, thanks a lot!

  • @FurkoTurk0 You could do some crazy stuff by ripping ISO files of your CDs/DVDs and using virtual drive software to access them on a netbook, but honestly, just pay the $50 and buy an external optical drive. It's a good investment that can be used on any computer you want.

    - Jason

  • @FurkoTurk0 Most people don't need an optical drive any more. It's more common to get software, music, videos, etc. via download than via disc. You can buy an external, USB-based optical drive if you need one.

    - Jason

  • @FurkoTurk0 The HP Mini 110 is over a year old and can't be purchased any more. The newest HP Mini 210 comes with a 6 cell battery, and yes, the more cells the better the battery life (generally - it depends on the size of the cells). The current HP Mini 210 does 10 hours of run time. I don't tell people what to buy; I only suggest they do their own research and decide for themselves. :-)

    - Jason

  • @FurkoTurk0 Yeah, the dual-3.5mm jack headphones that you have are pretty old school...I haven't seen a new product with dual connectors in years. Pretty much all the new microphone/headphone combos are USB-based.

    - Jason

  • @FurkoTurk0 You plug in the headphones and you use the microphone that up near the Webcam to talk. Or you use a USB-based headset/microphone combo which are very common. It's not at all unusual, so I think you're getting a little too excited about this. :-)

    - Jason

  • Are their HDMI outputs on the net books?

  • @TheCaramelflavour There are on some netbooks. Look also at the new AMD Fusion-based laptops that are a step above netbooks, support 1080p playback, and have HDMI out...like the HP dm1z.

    - Jason

  • Hey i have the hp mini but there is only one thing i hate about it! Well if you wanna know its.....! Easycap capture card itwont work for this type of laptop but if any and i mean ANYONE knows how to make it work plz contact me PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In your opinion, should I get the Hp Mini 5103 or the HP 110?

  • what netbook do you have

  • @MrSpencerthoni I no longer own a netbook. I bought an HP dm1z for my wife; that's the closest thing we have currently in use to a netbook.

    - Jason

  • hp mini sucks..slower than a turd going uphill

  • intel atom

  • The webcam is A VGA.

  • cant someone do a review on hp mini 110 3112eo?????

  • what are netbooks good for

  • @Xxbrad23xX internet and email internet checkers

  • @Xxbrad23xX mobility and hacking on the go

  • Are you a laptop collector?

  • @Chagalf No, not really - in the case of the Mini 110, it was a loaner unit from HP. Much of what you see reviewed on my account are loaner units.

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia what netbook do you keep

  • the front vent is speaker or air vent?

  • @geligapictures speaker

  • @geligapictures speaker the side vents are for air :)

  • i just got this today for christmas! i love it!!!!

  • M using hp mini 110 now.. my battery s bigger.. 6-cell.. bulky but nice, it can elevate the mini ... not terrible..hehe

  • M using hp mini 110 now.. my battery s bigger.. 6-cell.. bulky but nice, it can elevate the mini ... not terrible..hehe.

  • Harddrive gone and NO WARRANTY from HP...OUCH

  • do you know what font the letters printed on the keyboard keys use?

  • @sony8877 No clue. What a curious question. :-)

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia

i know its a tough one, but i quite like it!

  • Hey Jason,

I just bought a Hp mini 110 at Frys Electronics for $229. (holiday sale)

    Here are the specs:

    - Intel Atom N455 processor (1.66GHz)

    - 250GB (5400RPM ) Hard Drive

    - W7 starter (32-bit)

    - Intel graphics media accelerator 3150 with shared graphic memory

    - 3 cell 27WHr Lithium Battery

I bought it without giving much thought bc it was going out fast so do you think i got a good deal? I haven't opened it yet bc i dont want to pay the restocking fee.

  • @Leev510 Hey Jason. Fry's offers price matching, and I got the exact same netbook. First off....you got a GREAT deal. Was it including tax? Mine was offered at $279 PLUS tax. My question is, would you happen to know what I can use for them to price match mine to your price? would you be kind enough to provide me with anything that I can show them so they believe me? maybe like a pic of the receipt but crop out your personal info....just so it shows the model netbook, and price paid? anhything?

  • I need a notebook for resreach, youtube, songs and movies and i like the hp 110 and thinking ill upgrade it to 2 gig ram msg me if i should buy it or tell me what i can do and im 15 so i need some cool for all around 280 $

  • i watched this from my hp mini 110

  • @LutMejiaJ me too!

  • my laptop broke (bad graphics and hard drive, or is on the fritz) im kinda broke and i just need to take notes, play a game (maple story) and go on facebook... lol

would this be good to hold for like 6 months till i get a new laptop?

  • @whatsagoodusername23 No idea about Maple Story, but netbooks are great for notes, Internet stuff, etc.

    - Jason

  • Free windows key lol....

  • would this be a good replacement for a desktop if i buy an external cd/dvd drive?

  • @c976061 No, not at all - unless you're only doing stuff in a Web browser and you want to go blind from staring at the wee screen. ;-)

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia what about having it connected to my tv? and i use it mostly for homework and internet, maybe an occasional game?

  • @c976061 If your TV has a VGA port, or an HDMI port and you buy a netbook that has an HDMI port, that would work. But you need to understand that netbooks tend to have weak CPUs, not much RAM, and are generally not meant for heavy-duty computing tasks - things that a desktop computer excels at.

    - Jason

  • No its a 6 Cell Battery

  • Hi, this keyboard is called Canadian Bilingual and ALL laptops sold in Canada have it, unless it clearly says "English" in the description of a product. I bought an HP laptop while there and God this keyboard is awful - you constantly hit that small key in error. I've sold that HP laptop later and never again I am making that mistake.

  • @Frunzenskiy Slight correction: ALL HP laptops have the French/English keyboard, with other brands it's more of a mix. Dell laptops all use the regular English keyboard, so any laptop you get from them will have that keyboard unless you special order the French/English keyboard. Other brands depend; Sony has a mixture of both, I think Acer is like HP. It's all pretty frustrating!

    - Jason

  • Hi i need to buy a netbook next week as i am starting university and everybody uses thier own netbooks in class, could you advise a suitable netbook for £300 or less i dont really know much about netbooks? i would apprciate it =)

i have a mini 110 but i dont know if it has a bluetooth..

  • how can i upgrade to windows 7??

    need some advice..

  • Nice bright lights at 9:02 much like mine

  • im currently using hp 110 , best performance because it comes with atom 1.83 ghz , my battery is labbled with QT6Y , i checked on internet it is a 3 cell battery approxiamately arround 4-5hrs,

  • This seems like a really good netbook. But my only question is, the 6-cell battery sticks out from the machine, is that a really bad thing? It seems to bother some and others it doesn't.

  • can you upgrade the ram

  • is this upradable to windows 7 or atleast windows vista? ive used 7 and like it better than vista, i dont know, it mite just be that i have vista, nice video, thank you:)

  • @bmxmisfits Yes, you can put Windows 7 on it without much trouble.

    - Jason

  • @bmxmisfits yea when i got mıne wındows 7 was installed

  • you can buy it at att.com for basicly 200

  • Would this be the same as the HP Mini 110 by Studo Tord Boontje?

  • @DeAthZReApEr760 Yes, the hardware is the same, I think it's just a different design.

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia : Okay thanks.

Do you know if the Studio Tord Boontje Series was only for a limited time offer or are they still selling it? I wanted to buy another one for my friend but they ran out, and I'm guessing they won't sell it anymore.

Was it only for a limited time?

  • @DeAthZReApEr760 I have no idea, sorry. I don't work for HP. :-)

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia : Okay, thanks.

  • you scratched it so much i can hear the laptop scrathing on the table...be more gentle XD nice review btw

  • @man0204 You can think what you want, but the table it's on is soft plastic and no scratches occurred.

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia you cannot say that.... because i sayed wath i heard ^^ maybe i am wrong maybe not... i just know wath i heard XD

  • @man0204 Of course I can say that - it's my video setup, it's my office, it's was my loaner review unit, and it was my video. :-)

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia <.<'

  • @man0204 you "sayed"?

  • Can we change the processor, cuzz Im interested in changing my processor!!!...please reply fast!!

  • @Abidu96 No, you can't change the processor.

    - Jason

  • you sure are smart :)

  • @XxcreedzZ Thank you for the compliment. I do try. :-)

    - Jason

  • Mas esse not é mto lindin! e o melhor de tudo barato!

  • @jhonasn I'm afraid I only read English, so I'm not sure what you're saying here...

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia OK, sorry, I'm brasilian :D

  • @ThoughtsMedia I say I said this netbook is cute and very cheap, I bought one of these

  • i bought HP mini .. my problem is i cant browse to the internet... even thought its connecting to the LAN or WIFI.. wat shud i do????

    - Jason

  • which one better?Hp 210 or HP 110?

  • ive got this laptop had if for 5months && i dont know how to do webcam effects?

    can you do them??

    help

  • I just bought one for college, do u think it will be good for college students?

  • @TheSheryl91 Just as long as u won't be using it for anything but web browsing and paper typing... these things can't do much else.

  • im debating on weather to get one with starter 7 or XP ive had more expirience with xp in the past and this is to replace my Mac desktop with blew up so i just dont know, the xp edition on futureshop is cheaper the starter 7for some reason but probs cuz it doesnt have those swirls

  • @robcarey18 Get the Windows 7 version. You don't want an operating system that's 10 years old.

    - Jason

  • the one on uk amozin is HP Mini 110-1115SA Black Swirl

  • Hey Jason... I have bought one of these for my wife and it came with Windows 7 pre installed... I want to link it via wifi to my router and I need the 'mac address' for the HP Mini... I can't find out how to get this information.. do you have any suggestions on how and where I should look..??

  • The easier solution would be to change your router to not require the Mac address - that's an insanely high level of security that's overkill for 99% of people. Change your router to just use WPA2, and you'll be good.

    - Jason

  • I'm getting one of these :)

  • thanks for that!

  • i have a question... is this wifi capable?

or do you need to purchase something from your wireless phone company for the laptop to go online aim etc

  • Did you actually watch the video or read the video description before posting? It says it has Wifi in both places.

    - Jason

  • okay my bad.. i posted before you said it in the video sorry

  • i have this laptop but i have no idea how to set a picture as my desktop beckground?

    any help? !

    ASAP

  • If your running windows 7 starter, I suggest upgrading. Windows 7 Starter is very limited and does not allow you to change the background

  • @AliyahKhan2010 just right-click the desktop and select properties, then a window will apper, select the desktop tab and set the backround :)

    hope this helped

P.S. this is only for Windows 2000/ME/XP

  • i only hav windows 7?

and when i right clik no such thing as properties come up?

shall i change ma laptop from WINDOWS7?

  • You're using Windows 7 Starter, which doesn't allow you to change the desktop background. Do a Web search and you'll find ways of doing it.

    - Jason

  • try using window xp home rather than window 7

  • Hi. i was wonder if i could buy an external hard drive to store more music and pictures??? please respond back .

  • Yes, you certainly can.

    - Jason

  • Thank you.

  • Any idea if it's possible to make the simcard port usable ??

  • Without an internal 3G modem, it's not going to do anything.

    - Jason

  • would you recommend this or the HP dm3 for someone who is just starting university

  • hey i have one and in the back were the batery is located is has a slot to put a sim card.... why is that??

  • If you buy a model with an integrated 3G modem, that's where you put the SIM card...

    - Jason

  • Hey there, my mini 110 has a 16G solid state HDD, do you know if the card reader can read SDHC cards, then i can use that for extra storage space

  • Yes, I'm certain that it can read SDHC cards.

    - Jason

  • I have that computer but i have windows 7 starter edition and 250 hard drive gb and 2 gb ram!

  • The 6 cell battery shoots out the bottom not the back sadly...

  • Can I watch on DVD with this netbook?

  • If you have an external dvd drive.

  • Yea its awesome I can use 2 programs, I can use WINDOWS 7 and UBUNTU!

  • Guys I already bought this one...and I came here to get the review before buying even though the price was only $249.99CAD...and it's totally awesome! i love it..in fact i am typing from it too :D

  • Where did you get it at that price?

    I was at Staples = $269

  • Actually I bought it on sale during the boxing week from Future Shop...:) The price has gone higher to $269.99...

  • Can anybody tell me the difference between a HP Mini 110-1031NR and a HP Mini 110-10-30NR?

  • hey i have a hp110 and i wanna know how to take desk pics on this pc.. i will aprecciate if u answer this question thnks.

  • you should download youcam is a program to recor a nd take pictures with the camera

  • thx for the review i am thinking about getting one

  • oh i mist have a six cell battery because my battery makes almost like a stand which i do find a little annoying

  • HP Mini 10.1" Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz Netbook (110-1045DX)

from future shop; its price is $249.99...do you think that's a good price?

  • @cuteg1234 ...it's seems good to me...it's a refurb btw but that makes it better. =D Im probably going to get it if that makes you feel any better to =D

  • amazing price

  • I'm just wondering since you're paying $300.00 you may as well purchase a cheaper laptop for just a bit more money. I'm just learning about the Mini PC and shopping for a good deal. The Mini is cute but expensive .

  • Hey Jason nice review, as soon as watched started to review mine and looks totally different to both of yours, tis one came with windows 7 ultimate, 2gb ram, 160 hd, and the pg up, pg down, etc , keys are black, I though they did no exist til now, now is time to find out wich version i have.

  • Can I replace more than a 2 Gb chip in the memory card slot?

  • No, the chipset on most netbooks, including the 110, is limited to 2GB.

    - Jason

  • Hey Jason, Can you upgrade the OS on the Mini from starter to like Home Premium, Ultimate, etc.?

  • Like Upgrade it through a usb disk drive

  • Yes, Windows 7 supports an in-place upgrade. I've never done it before, so I'm not sure what the mechanism is.

    - Jason

  • the camera is 1.3 megapixels in case anyone is wondering

  • @chorewillis thank you .

  • Comment removed

  • I feel your pain. I'm really disappointed with HP for forcing the French/English keyboard on all Canadians. It should be an option and the customer can buy whichever version they prefer.

    - Jason

  • Should i get this mini 110 laptop? I mean this is gonna be my first laptop and i want to know if it would be the right one for a starter.

  • Hi, that depends on your requirements and expectations for it, if ur looking for normal stuff such as office, pictures, movies... then, i guess this will come in handy, but more ram and processor demanding applications such as video editing photoshop and gaming would require a more powerful computer.

Bottom line, no. it would be a way better decision to pick a full sized more powerfull laptop. Im hoping that this would be my 6th computer, an on teh go one, but i wouldn't use the as an only 1

  • how is the battery life?

  • Why not watch my review video and see? This is the first impressions video. :-)

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia

Does this have any onboard built in memory?

  • On-board RAM? No - it's removable. On-board storage? No, it uses a hard drive.

    - Jason

  • i have this lap top and its great i have the 6 cell battery and i works fine

im actualy typing this comment on the 110 right now

  • If i buy one, the first charge needs to be of 12 hours?

  • 12 hours? No. It should fully charge in about two hours I'd say.

    - Jason

  • 3,4 cell batteries are garbage, spend a little extra and get the 6-cell

  • I agree completely. Unfortunately HP's PR company always seems to send me the laptops with the smallest batteries they can. :-(

    - Jason

  • HOw many GB's does it have because my bro said that its only for internet and you cant download anything

  • Check the sidebar - all the stats are there.

    - Jason

  • Oh and 160gb btw.

  • Thanks man, I'm looking into buying me one of these next week.

  • is their a windows 7

  • ya right now in stores there is but he has the french version so it came with windows xp but if u live in USA then its windows 7 starter edition

  • k i live in the usa

  • yeah, but it's starter. Starter is fine for a netbook but unfortunately you can't personalize on it. I bought this laptop today and not being able to change your background is REALLY annoying. I'd save some money to upgrade to home premium if I were you. So far, so good on the laptop itself btw. Really good build, nice design and much faster than I was expecting. The wifi receivers are also surprisingly good.

  • wat the hell

cant change desktop background or a different background

PS: im getting 1 of these in 2 days (getting delivered) and it has WINDOWS 7 STARTER

    wich is pretty good

  • when you get it download "Stardock My Colors" and you'll be able to change the background with it. Starter is designed for netbooks and poor computer markets so it's pretty basic. In saying that though I've found it is sufficient for a netbook and much nicer to use than XP (which a lot of Dell and Sony netbooks are still being shipped with). Just download stardock and you'll be able to change things up (I can't find anywhere to download the aero theme though).

  • so u cant change the background???

  • funny im watching this on my 110 :P

  • it looks like the enter key is different- sort of an upside-down "L" shape.

  • To Jason, how uch is the cost of the hp mini 100 in singapore?

  • I live in Canada. How on earth do you expect me to know the price of a product in Singapore?? :-)

    - Jason

  • what brand of 2gig ram chip should i get if theres a difference in the brands?

  • I'd go for Kingston RAM, it's usually cheap but is of good quality.

    - Jason

  • thanx man.!

  • hey i live in canada and i just bought my hp mini 1100 and im wating till the 21nd to pick it up.. I live in NB so do you think the keyboard will be bilingual or will it be engilsh.. Because i like my shift KeY PlEaSe ResPoNd

  • Hard to say - but I'd say it will probably have the French/English keyboard unless you can specify otherwise...

    - Jason

  • @ThoughtsMedia ok thanks for the quick reply i love your vids lol i hope this is a good netbook.. its my first one.. well thanks for the help
