I cried at this video...I still am...But thinking of my cat, Jack-Jack, makes me cry more...He's 4 years old...He's still alive, and I love animals so much...I feel SO sorry for Willie...At least he's back with his dog...This is like Marley and Me...
I always used to cry at this film when I was about 6. Skip reminds me of my dog, I had a jack Russell but she got hit by a car when I was 10. Strange how we can miss animals more than people sometimes.
this gives me deep emotions :'( my dog died 2 days ago , i cant get over him. i cry all day,i dont know what to do.I cant imagine my life without him .I wish i could hold him , rub his back of his neck just once more just once , WHY GOD!? I ask myself , I can't believe he is gone , Cant believe that there is noone trying to bite my slippers, lick my hands, run and bark when i come home , love me the way i am! ROCKY YOU WILL LAY BURIED FOREVER IN MY HEART!
This is one of the only movies that literally has me bawling. Tears are streaming down my face. My goodness. I need a tissue!!! No other movie has made me this way, except this one.
I love dogs. I have a 2 year old great dane. She almost died when we had to get her fixed. It's so sad that Danes' one of the nicest dogs around only live 6 to 9 years.
My 20 year old cat died today. I couldn't be there because I'm away at University. I'm broken hearted. Candy and I grew up together. I can't stop crying.
She always loved to be rubbed under her chin, never her ears, she'd bend her head when she'd see me so I could kiss her forehead. Mom called me this morning to tell me she had a stroke and the doctor said she was now in a coma and would have to be put down. She's still in my heart tonight.
He Left Skip, Never Leave Your Real True Friend, Dogs Never Forget My JRT Might Be Small But Has A Bigger Heart Then Me. Skip Missed Him So Much That's Why He Was So Sad After He Left He Should Of Took Skip With Him, I Will Never Leave My Sammy Even Death Cant Not Spilt Us Apart.
i watched this yesterday night with my dog during our last night together. it reminds me so much of our journey together and our friendship. she had a form of neurological disease which affected her movement in a similar way to skip. this scene always makes me tearful, but i burst into tears this time. this morning she died in my arms and i wept. today i lost my best friend. I love you Ellie. i will love you forever xxx
Just think in real life the real dog this movie is based on and the author who had the dog are now DEAD. If you believe in the afterlife, then they are together now so get over it it's just a film. But if you don't believe in the afterlife, well, the thought is too horrible to think.
i seriously just cried and i didnt even see the whole movie. i haven't watched this in 12 years 0__o i'm going to see it again even though i know ill cry my eyes out.
@ohdezflores I just saw it for the first time today a few hours ago - yes it was upsetting but a much better movie than Marley and Me crap. But look at it this way - the dog passed happy instead of being horribly run over or something.
Im 19 and have the same type of dog as skip, shes 12 now and had her since i was 7.. watching this makes me really upset, wish dogs would last forever, shes my best friend :( :(
Scenes like this in a movie always make you cry, I'm a 18 year old guy, and ill admit, I was in tears watching this.. Especially at. 1:17.. See, we all feel that love that we have for an animal, and to see it pass away is very sad, but just know.. One day you'll be reunited with him or her again.. <3
Dear God, I'm bawling like a freaking baby and I'm 20 years old! All I can think about while watching this, is my dog Homer, who died back in May of last year. He was 12 years old and we had him since he was a puppy. That dog was my best friend. Whenever I was sad about something, he would sit in my lap and let me wrap my arms around him and cry. (He was a lab/chow mix) He died from congestive heart failure.. I will forever love and miss him. <3<3<3
I actually got a Jack russel when this movie came out, and when the dvd was released, i watched it with him. As soon as it was over, i picked him up and looked in his sleepy puppy eyes and said "Stay with me forever!" As the years went on he got older, stronger, braver, smarter. Around 2010, his legs started to give out on him, and he had troubles with his back. On the operating, table, he looked at me with his pained eyes, yet they were sleepy. "Stay with me forever boy..." he closed his eyes..
oh good grief. I remember watching this when I was young, made me cry then and makes me cry now - 18 nearly nineteen years old. I have three dogs, one of my dogs is exactly the same type of breed as skip - I couldn't bear to lose her - any of them, nor my cats. Things like this make us realise we need to spend as much time with those we love, our family, pets, friends and make the most of it <3
Best movie of seen in my entire life... and I don't expect ANY other movies(whether movies from the past or movies in the upcoming future) to overtake this one in terms of awesomeness!! :-)
This ending is a MASTERPIECE! By not showing Skip actually dying, the cloying, overdone and sometimes forced sentimental tropes are skipped. (I'm looking at you, Ol' Yellar) Voice-over endings are NOT easy to do without coming across as overly syrupy. This one was simple, and is also memorable.
Any movie can dog the boy-meets-dog-boy-loses-dog bit and elect tears-- this ending is almost more uplifting than sad.
If you're alone, I'll be your shadow. If you want to cry, I'll be your shoulder. If you want a hug, I'll be your pillow. If you need to be happy, I'll be your smile. But anytime you need a friend, I'll just be me.
When i saw this little dog and his happy smile..It's something the best that I have ever seen..He knew that he is ill and that he will die but his heart ticked hard when he saw his friend going away..Dog is something the best he will understand your feelings,he can cheer you up,play with you and he will never let you down..It's only being on this world that understands the emotions..Made me cry when I saw him dying....
The thing people need to realize, is that life will eventually go on. Once the sadness disappears, take the lessons and memories a dog gave you and achieve excellence in your life. I now can look back at the memories i had with my dog clearly, and smile and laugh. I love seeing his face clearly in my mind, and knowing he will always be following behind me, protecting me. Love my buddy, love my friend.
When i first saw this as a kid i cried like a baby, i didnt go to school for a couple days because i was so sad... I still cry when i see this seen :'(
This makes me bawl my eye out! I don't how I'm going to be able to handle it when my dog eventually passes away. I'm 18 now and my dog is 13. I've had him since I was in preschool. But he's starting to get old now. He's gone blind in one eye, deaf and is losing his strength. :'((( He's my buddy and we've grown up together.
I am the same way. Im almost 20 My dog just turned 9 this past summer, he still acts like a puppy but he is like a little brother i never had. I lost a dog a few yrs ago, she was apart of our family since i was 3 years old (I still remember the day we first got her), we put her down when she was 10. That day is still one of the saddest days of my life. Now that our other dog is getting close to his last few yrs, it really tears me apart knowing i will have to go through all that again
@92kid1 I feel you man, my dog is actually named buddy lol. Im 17 and hes 13 also. His back legs are getting weak :/ Ima really miss him, god bless you and dog!
@92kid1 i had a beautiful female husky who died the age of thirteen i was 23 when she passed she died in her sleep beside me just like the way we were when we first got her when i was 10 it hurts i know but ur dog would want u to stay strong buddy believe me :)
It's sad how in life everyone has their time with a best friend, doing everything together, and you try not to think of the day theyre going To die soon. Life is just too short. And before you know it your best friend is going to die.

@strayxxdog that is true. i have apsergers symtrome so its hard to make friends but my dogs are evreything to me and is always their for me. i have a spechial connection with dogs. theirs nothing like them.......they will die for you
when my dog dies, i am going to ball my eyes out harder than i ever will. he was my first friend, & helped me through the rough years of elementry school. i got him in kindergarden. im only going into freshman year of HS, & he's only 8, but thats pretty old in my opinion. he's blind now. ): my childhood<3
i watched this movie all the time on video tape. when i was 8 years old, i got a jack russell terrier...just because of this movie. she's still here with me today :)
dude i have this movie on tape i watch it all the time at the end i cried my friggin head off i always do.i wanted to watch Marley & Me but i was going to cry after reading the description summary and the reviews.....i couldn't bear to click play.i gotta watch it later though,i have to be brave.i am still crying.
I'm 40 years old and have just seen this film. It made me cry for hours! It was really sad as it reminded me of my dog when I was little boy growing up in the UK.
I came here after not seeing this movie in a few years, thinking I'd just get a tiny tear, the type of tears that you feel you need a good cry every so often. Instead I've got tears streaming down my face like a river, as if my own mother just died. Damn, this is one sad movie!
I remember seeing this in theaters with my dad. A lot of other kids were there with their parents too. I swear, everyone was in tears while walking out, even the dads. I still cry to this day over this movie.
It doesn't matter if it's your mom or dad, boyfriend or girlfriend, or husband or wife. No one will ever love you as much as your pet will.
My dog was sick, on the vet table before we had him put down, with his last strength, he reached out, and licked my face one last time, after the shot. The vet picked him up and gave him to me. I was the first one to hold him when he was born, and I was the last one to hold him when he died. :'(
fuck this movie. i watched it in a film class back in highschool and bawwed my eyes out right then and there. i had just had the dog id had since i was 4 put down because of liver failiure and i didnt want him to suffer even though he could have lived for another month. he was incontinent and could barely move. this film was so painful at the time since my childhood pet/freind had just died. im crying so hard thinking about this. but it is a great movie.
My dog is dying right now. damn it!!! T_T ive had him for ten years ever since fifth grade, and it pains me to see him lying there breathing his last. T_T
The saddest part is that the guy just left his dog and the dog died alone without his master and did not know why. He should have stayed around home if he loved his dog that much.
I watched this movie and at the end when Willie left for college I was crying a little bit then when skip tried to get on the bed I started crying a little bit more then when he said skip died I started crying like a baby then when he said he was buried in my heart I was bawling my eyes out this was a fucking great movie
sad ending. havnt seen this since it came out and i agree that its hard not to cry, but like all people aint nothing with a man crying once in a while.
I could not help but cry when watching this movie and especially this final scene! It is definitely one of the better films made about companionship between a boy and his dog and puts all of these stupid talking-animal movies that Hollywood has thrown out to viewers to shame!
@jeffpgawest Living life with a dog is an amazing adventure. Times and time again you feel new again when your able to talk to him, without him running away. Playing fetch or just laying on the couch, you spent time with him like he was your brother. And when he passes, it just makes you wonder why and how it happened. You cry and remember the times you loved. Thats the meaning of a dog, a friend. They will always be with you.
makes me think of my dog me and my brother grew up with. hes old now, has athritis, has cataracts in both eyes, and is deaf. once he leaves me, my life will never be the same again. sometimes when i was young he would be my best friend when i had none :'(
. I will always remember my first dog,,,, She is a year younger than i am now, but only by a year. I am 14 and she is 13. I remember one day i had a bad dream about losing her. I coudnt stop crying because that day i came to realize every item, animal and person i love i will lose. I didnt kno the point of loving something to lose it. But then i think back how happy she has made me and still does. But i cant imagine what itll be like to come home and shes not there anymore. :( i dont want this.
Today would have been our old boy's 50th birthday. I'm 57 now, and I remember that day, like it was last week. I'll never forget him, ever. Yes, he will always remain within my heart and in my dreams. Happy Birthday ol. boy.
I have a beautiful black lab named Maggie and she is the bestest friend I could ever ask for. Everytime I come home she there is waiting by the door for me all excited. I could be gone for just a few minutes and I get the same reaction everytime. She will eventually leave me one of these days and when she does I will be absolutely heartbroken. I will keep a picture of her near me everyday for the rest of my life.
I cried at this video...I still am...But thinking of my cat, Jack-Jack, makes me cry more...He's 4 years old...He's still alive, and I love animals so much...I feel SO sorry for Willie...At least he's back with his dog...This is like Marley and Me...

It's always the same:
1) I see the dog looking at the bus and i get a strange feeling in the stomache and start feeling sad
2) You see the dog didn't make it up onto the bed together with the sad music --> first tears
3) Camera goes onto the photos of the past + dog dies --> more tears
4) "He thought of Skip every day" - Thats like a punch with the baseball bat onto the back of your head - thats awefull :(
It's a beautifull movie but the ending is to sad for small children in my opinion

I came here after not seeing this movie in a few years, thinking I'd just get a tiny tear, the type of tears that you feel you need a good cry every so often. Instead I've got tears streaming down my face like a river, as if my own mother just died. Damn, this is one sad movie!
Sallyallie89 9 months ago

This scene, will always make me cry.
R.I.P Mikey I miss you
BassAdams6661 10 months ago 82
@BassAdams6661 I'm pretty sure your parents will love you more than your pets do. If not, then I feel bad for you.
Your parents took care of you, raised you, did everything to give you a good life. I don't think they would do all of that if they didn't love you.

fuck this movie. i watched it in a film class back in highschool and bawwed my eyes out right then and there. i had just had the dog id had since i was 4 put down because of liver failiure and i didnt want him to suffer even though he could have lived for another month. he was incontinent and could barely move. this film was so painful at the time since my childhood pet/freind had just died. im crying so hard thinking about this. but it is a great movie.

The saddest part is that the guy just left his dog and the dog died alone without his master and did not know why. He should have stayed around home if he loved his dog that much.

sad ending. havnt seen this since it came out and i agree that its hard not to cry, but like all people aint nothing with a man crying once in a while.
snapple6661 11 months ago
I could not help but cry when watching this movie and especially this final scene! It is definitely one of the better films made about companionship between a boy and his dog and puts all of these stupid talking-animal movies that Hollywood has thrown out to viewers to shame!

jeffpgawest 1 year ago
@jeffpgawest Living life with a dog is an amazing adventure. Times and time again you feel new again when your able to talk to him, without him running away. Playing fetch or just laying on the couch, you spent time with him like he was your brother. And when he passes, it just makes you wonder why and how it happened. You cry and remember the times you loved. Thats the meaning of a dog, a friend. They will always be with you.

My dog died on our vacation and i buried him in the woods behind my grandma's house. He lies, forever, in my heart.

makes me think of my dog me and my brother grew up with. hes old now, has athritis, has cataracts in both eyes, and is deaf. once he leaves me, my life will never be the same again. sometimes when i was young he would be my best friend when i had none :'(
