@JonathanTheAlchemist Well for a start, Scotland is a country, a nation that allows another government to decide everything affecting us. With independence we would take full control over everything, including our finances and we would have Scottish people governing Scottish people in the best interests for them. Not many people know this but an independent Scotland would be the 2nd largest Oil producer in the EU and that would completely transform a country of only 5 million people.

What about the billion pound Whisky Industry? Forget about that??? We export textiles, aeroengines, buses, computer software, ships, avionics and much more. Even Shortbread brings Billions to Scotland's economy... We will do just fine and thanks for the Good Luck :)

@IRememberTheOldDays haha ok, maybe not billions, but shortbread does bring in millions of pounds. Scotland does not have a terrible economy. We have a lot of industries which bring in billions of pounds, much much more than what a small country of 5 million actually needs, so we will be just fine being independent. Sure, if a country such as Luxembourg or Leichtenstein can be independent, then so can Scotland.

@IRememberTheOldDays Excuse me, but Edinburgh is the 2nd largest financial centre in the UK and FOURTH in the whole of Europe by equity assets. We have some of the oldest banks in the world. How exactly will there be no cash through taxation with 5 million people? What does all the hundreds of countries with smaller populations than us do? They do just fine. Tell me what is so different that all these countries can function well with independence, but Scotland couldn't? And it will happen !

England is not the most powerful kingdom in the world because there is no such thing as an English Monarchy. The correct term is the British Monarchy which is both England&Scotland's Monarchies United as one. We do show respect to our Queen. She would still be our head of state in an independent Scotland just like in Canada, Australia. Scotland is NOT an independent country(yet). *CONTINUED*
