  • that is not a gasser! you need to wait a lot longer and when its really cold, you cycle the plugs twice. it sounds like either the batterys are dying, or it was converted to 12 volt.

  • @MCPObr44 His other video says it was converted to 12 volt... Bypassing the automatic glow plug controller is probably a better thing altogether.

  • Wats done to the exhaust

  • @ShReK516 nothing, factory duals

  • a wee bit of rust not to major lol

  • @ultaMMA Nope, it's just ice and snow frozen on. And the paint is military CARC 383, 3-color camo, flat paint, which tends to make ice and snow cling more.

  • @saosurvive126 oh thats great then

  • DIY4X,com

  • I'm suprised you managed to get it started with out messing up the starter...try cranking the first time for a couple of seconds then cutting off, wait 2-4 seconds, turn back on and cranking again. This way you don't continuosly kill the starter. Just my $.02

  • Ive always like Blazer and Bronco since i was a kid =)

  • Does that thing have the vynal seats in it? I miss freezing with those in the winter time! Not really, but I do like them. Cool vid!

  • that is a beastly look!i have an 84' jimmy that is red.looks cool but cant beat camo.

  • Love the sound of them old diesels. Great vid!

  • i love that rattle

  • not bad for no block heater

  • thats a chevy for yah lol love the blazer

  • AWESOME BLAZER

  • i noticed theres no key to start that big bitch ? nice start up !!

  • The king of trucks, Chevrolet :D

Nothing gives me a bigger shit eating grin than an old nasty chevy simply defying the odds. At least the odds that ford owners give it XD

  • thats a nice rig

  • what kind of glow plugs do you use, and I didn't see one, but I assume you use a block heater?

  • so you missed the part @ 17 sec where he said there's NO block heater?

  • I guess I did. Give yourself a big pat on the back for pointing that out.

  • I have a 1984 Chevy Blazier Diesel with 80,xxx miles on it. GREAT CONDITION. NO RUST. Needs a throttle body. Was used for a police vehicle in Moundsville, WV. Message me if you're interested!

  • throttle body wtf

  • Yours starts like my 1008 when its 30* out. I'm gonna start her up today, its been a few weeks since she ran last.

@80K25 I think its just frozen on snow and slush not rot.

  • my dad rigged a switch to warm up the plugs

  • ether is a good way to melt the glow plugs and make them a pain to change

  • Was your fast idle not working? My M1009 idles up to 1200 rpms when cold to warm up the engine.

  • That poor K5 is so rotted... They rot from the inside out too, not cool

  • SWEET!! My dad has the military version Blazer! We stuffed a 468 ci big block and put a 16 inch lift with 38 inch tires. Not to mention a nasty cam and 3 inch pipes. Its a hot rod and an off road truck. Loads of fun VERY TOUGH!!

  • 16 inches of lift? Did you mean 6 inches? I'm gonna run a 6 inch Rough Country lift and more than likely run 40s. I can run 35s as it sits with no lift at all.

  • @M1009Blazer dont get a rough country...realllllll bad!

  • right, sorry about that. Typo

  • Hell yeah that is what you call a CAR,

    nice sound dude

CHEVY IT IS IN YOUR BLOOD

    OR NOT.

  • @4X4blazerk5 not really i drive ford chevy and yes even a dodge

  • great video. i love the cranking

  • does "five degrees" mean -5 or +5? sorry my english is bad. :D

  • five means the number 5, negative five means -5

  • 'five degrees' means +5

    I presume you're metric, to you that's -15C

  • ok, thanks you're right. it's -15C here, but thats just summer temperature here in finland :D no just kidding but the winter is coming and im gettin pissed. Normally at winter it's -25C in here and thats fuckin cold.

  • @0866aikon

And last month -30C degrees almost every **cking morning...and 6,2diesel still running just "fine"...It was bit hard to find arctic diesel in southern Finland... (-30C = -22F)

  • help!

whats the best make and supplier for a 6.2 geared starter motor. mine eats them like buiscuits. is a block heater any use? mine would not go at 20'c with jump leads to my van...... ta -steve ps should the heater plug dash lamp come on with the engine running?????????!!!!

  • 1) I used a cheap 12v gear reduction starter I bought on ebay for $110, no core charge. 2) block heaters are for girls and 3) if I start her with only a few seconds of glow plug the light will stay on with the engine running, it's probably on a timer

  • Hey thats not bad for 6.2L thats been sitting over night in that weather....notbad at all!

  • I have a 84 M1009 that i bought for $900. I only put new batteries in it and with a quick shot of ether (below 30F) she fires right up!

  • NEVER use ether on a diesel. Unless you want to rebuild your engine soon!

  • If you KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, either is a good way to start a cold diesel that otherwise wouldn't start.

  • ether is like heroin, you do it once and you can't help but keep going back to it till you're all done

  • That is amazing. Absolutely NONE of the blazer diesels I drove of this vintage in the military started half as well as this truck, regardless of the outside temp. Hell, we had one that wouldn't start below +40F without ether, and the glow plugs were working fine. And all of the trucks were only 2-4 years old. Now the hummers were a completely different story. They always were dependable.

  • That's insane, must be a well-kept k5!
