  • ギター一本では音の分厚さが出ない。

  • Simply killer!!!

  • Sykes makes coverdales voice seem like childs play.

  • the guitar player is also the singer, here, and the author of the song,

yeah... John Sykes, what are you wrong about? THIS IS superlative

  • Incredible, how does he play that riff so well and sing too?

  • i love bad boys baby

  • 涙が出る程カッコイイ!

  • LOVE BAD BOY LIVE. BADASS CD!!

  • John sings it just as good as Coverdale.

  • @Reg197844 hehe.. no!

  • Oh fuck I Sykes would stay with Whitesnake how interesting it would be.

Blue Murder was brillient in a few places but Sykes guitar with David's voice this is the best thing in the fucking world.

  • if* not I

  • Among all the versions of "Bad Boys", I like Sykes version the best. Because he is the composer of the song, this take expresses as much as any other version what the original composition intended originally.

  • would like to see the video

  • Man oh man, he is such a bad @ss on guitar :D Cant ever get tired of hearing him shred.

  • he sings better then coverdale

  • @STEPPENZ haha

  • Coverdale + Sykes = 1987

1987 = Best Rock album EVER!

    11 out of 10 ..!

  • Sykes rules!!!!!!!!!! mother fuckers

  • Definately underrated as a Guitarist, as is Adrian Vandenburg.

  • tal cual!! no por nada coverdale grabó un "desenchufado" llevando solo a Vandenburg. Saludos che!

  • Sykes is a phenomenal talent. To sing and play this w/such precision is extremely impressive. Great solo to btw.

  • What are you talking about? His intonation is great here. you must be a Coverdale fan. I think Coverdale is great, but there is nothing wrong with this performance at all. Especially when you consider that fact that he's probably singing on monitor wedges....which, don't offer any kind of really good monitoring. Not to mention, he's singing and playing guitar like a madman here.

This is a great vocal performance. Good backups here, too

  • Yeah, I think you're just used to hearing Coverdale sing it, which is why this singer sounds a generic to you. However, horrible is definitely not the correct word to use. His pitch here is actually better than Coverdale's on most of these clips on youtube. Not to mention, if John were the original singer on the studio track of this song...he would cease to sound "generic" to you simply because you wouldn't know any better. John would be your new reality. Relativity plays a huge role there

  • @yngvaigilbstee: Okay, maybe "horrible" was going a bit too far. It's just that Sykes doesn't seem to have much heart behind his singing. It's like a fake smile.

This is obviously not a scientifically proven fact, but it really doesn't sound like he's standing behind the lyrics. What I'm missing here is the passion.

    Happy New Year, BTW!

  • @yngvaigilbsteen John's singing voice is in general generic, that is why it sounds that way :).. not a bad singer though, but nowhere near coverdale. And his pitch here aint better

  • @leppardsnake He's actually a great singer. I understand what you mean about "generic", but most of the Coverdale performances that I've heard on hear and live have been pitchy compared to this.

  • @yngvaigilbsteen well.. then you should listen to a concert again (not rock in rio 85 because he couldnt hear himself sing on that one so there he was kind of pitchy :))

  • @leppardsnake I think your sadly mistaken. John is a great singer and mind you he is also playing guitar as well. There is nothing "Generic" about how he is doing this song at all. Hell he wrote it............. he can do it any way he wants to.

  • @idrum6969 we have different opinions regarding his sing voice then.. I dont think it is bad it is just, to say it's better than coverdales (like some did) is just.. well.. stupid.. everyone is entitled to an opinion ofc but still. I think his singing voice is generic.. I do really love his guitar playing though, excellent, never said any thing about that I believe. He CO-WROTE the music for bad boys with coverdale. Ofc he can do it the way he want to, I like that he does WS songs

  • @leppardsnake point well made my friend. I am glad he is doing some WS songs as well.

  • Oh...and he's doing it while playing guitar. : )

  • Try to play guitar like he does and sing at the same time!

  • Its not impossible, you have to learn it, because the rythm of singing and guitar is really similar.

  • Sykes performance on Bad Boys is stellar compared to David's. Just listen to the videos of Coverdale on here... no comparison...:) Seasons Greetings

  • He's doing vibrato with a Floyd Rose? Not using his Les Paul? Hmmmm

  • john sykes always sounds good when he's playing live

  • who's singing ? sykes ? it sounds a little bit like coverdal !!!

  • it is coverdale, this is from the self titled whitesnake album

  • This is from john syke's live album

  • No friend, this definitely John.He sounds great considering that this is a hard song to sing while on guitar.I have listened to enough Whitesnake and Blue Murder to tell those two apart.I really wish they would reunite.

  • John Sykes is the singer on this live version

  • Not really as bad as I thought it was going to be.. ..I love Sykes, but an used to DC singing this. Sounds pretty good actually.
