  • @stickelliott13 yes!!

  • thanx for posting this..i saw helmet this past thursday..great show..i met paige and i got my pic with him..such a cool dude..

  • @stickelliott13 good man stout fellow. I saw them in Manchester. Awesome :D

  • @clebus i bet that was a killer show as well..

  • Isn't Drop-D tuning awesome...

  • Yeah! You push it!.... No wait thats not right

  • Don't believe shit on wiki haha. Just believe Helmet rocks

  • This song is too short.... ;(

  • Poor man's Unsane. Always thought so. Strap It On was OK, but every release after that, with Page's poorly-conceived attempts at "singing"...awful. He'd have been better sticking with Band Of Susans.

  • @disgracelanduk Dude, seriously if you don't like helmet, why are you here? Please leave because your opinion is shit. Also, what with the " poor man's unsane" bs? Helmet is helmet no one else. Don't bother reesponding back.

  • @musiclover01ization Hey, shitbird. I can watch and listen to what I want, and leave comment on what I want when I want.

You're free to disagree with it, fine. As long as you realise how WRONG you are.

    ;)

  • @disgracelanduk Do you really have to resort to name calling? I know you're entitled to your opinion. but If you don't like helmet, you didn't have to come to this video to troll. Come back to me when you can talk in a more intelligent manner. Otherwise, Gtfo.

  • @musiclover01ization Cry to Mommy.

  • @disgracelanduk You are not worth any of my time. Please go back to your unsane and and leave me to my helmet.

  • @musiclover01ization *snigger*

  • Sounds like pain to me !!!!!! GIVE IT DON'T TAKE IT

  • Deftones been doing this shit since 1988

  • The great's '90. Fuck the 2000-2011.........

  • The great's '90. Fuck the 200-2011.........

  • If you like Helmet give me a "FUCK YEAH" !

    FUCK YEAH !

  • "Static X - push it" Sounds a lot like this.

  • Is that Henry Bogdan with dreads?

  • @Aztek92 yes!

  • @clebus and peter mengede still has the same haircut he had in this clip lol

  • sounds like they were listening to nirvana bleach while recording this, listen to scoff by nirvana

  • @eatmyfun Both records came out around the same time and both bands were equally significant at the time, so I doubt that Page Hamilton was listening to Nirvana, I'd rather say Godflesh :)

  • nice sound.. sounds better than the original..

  • HELMET performs a live concert @ The Cheyenne Saloon, May 21st 2011 w/ The Fact Remains, SFT, Rule of Thumb & Down The Boulevard. 21+ 8pm 05/21/11

  • amuuazing!

  • saw them with sausage and henry rollins at the mammoth events center in denver back in 1994. one of the best shows i've ever attended.

  • @bosnia95 thats an amazing bill..damn wish I'd been there to see that. Well done you.

  • FUCK YEAH

  • Love the Road Warrior intro to the video, good taste.

  • there was hope for rock music even in the 90's

  • @95TheDeftOne correct!

  • @clebus I forgot, thanks for posting! It's hard to find Helmet's songs on Youtube.

  • @clebus the deftones have been around longer than Helmet

  • @Z1CAUSEDEATH according to wikipedia they both formed in 1989. Didn't realise Deftones had been around that long.

  • @clebus Actually the Deftones formed in 1988, as I read on a lot of music books. Wikipedia probably made a mistake.

  • Comment removed

  • @95TheDeftOne LOL I wouldn't mention Korn here lawl. As a great band especially. Haha fail.

  • @KonohanaVillager In the late 90s they were a very innovative and influential band, they influenced a lot of alternative metal bands who came in the late 90s and the early 2000s, bands like Limp Bizkit, Coal Chamber, System of a Down, Disturbed and Slipknot. But yes, from 2003 they started doing bad albums. But I don't know why do you say they aren't good. I see critics appreciate them, too.

  • Comment removed

  • @95TheDeftOne If critics appreciate them, it's because the critics want to sell and to be read. It's that simple.

  • @95TheDeftOne janes addiction?? i like them but theyre not heavy

  • @44eelz I don't care about that, you can see how they influenced those bands...

  • @95TheDeftOne You know I could definitely see how it would've influenced nu-metal bands like Korn... funny since Korn used to be my favorite band for a few years in early 2000. Now I found this video while looking for post-hardcore punk bands and I have to say, I like this a lot more than any nu-metal music, which I cannot get into for the life of me anymore, haha.

  • @95TheDeftOne My only Problem with that comment, is that Helmet is better than Korn. lol

  • Comment removed

  • @95TheDeftOne Deftones originated in 1989. Same year Janes Addiction and Helmet both released their debut albums. Not that JA holds a candle to Deftones, creatively.

  • @95TheDeftOne Replace Jane's Addiction with Killing Joke and we have a deal :)

  • @95TheDeftOne

Helmet definitely paved the way for bands like Deftones - Let's not forget how Quicksand and Jesus Lizard helped contribute to this movement

  • Let's not forget Helmet aka Page Hamilton were from Germany making their mark in the states

  • @95TheDeftOne FNM was around since the mid-80s, but still, i see your point. some very influential bands there.

  • @95TheDeftOne Korn, Deftones, and SOAD all suck! Faith No More and Helmet blow Jane's Addiction as well. Oh, and don't go around telling members of FNM that they influenced Korn, they feel no responsibility for that crap.

  • @95TheDeftOne

    There's nothing great about Korn.

  • @AbandonedRustedMetal First two Korn albums are great. You can't deny this or you don't know good music.

  • @snupcho

I deny that and I do know good music. Shit that actually requires talent.

  • @95TheDeftOne

LOL@ calling Korn and SOAD 'great' bands.

  • It sucks that Frostwire has only two songs by them DX

  • @efrainfranco70 I have all of their albums in mp3. If you REALLY want them, I suggest using Mediafire. Type in HELMET and then "Strap it on" and after that type in rar or mediafire. Like this "Helmet Strap It On Mediafire" on Google. You need a RAR extractor, which is free for 40 days on Download.Cnet dot com. Google is your friend!

  • helmet rules.

  • Not a great voice, not complicated music, but it rocks!!!!

  • @Konformation07 more like headbanging man's metal \m/

  • short and sweet.

(it's closer to post-hardcore than metal, btw, but who am i to argue about semantics?)

  • very good!!

  • I love helmet. Saw them open for Primus at the 3rd New Years Eve Freakout around 1992 I think.

  • @07BSPtC would have loved to seen that concert

  • @clebus I did see them twice in the early 90's, and they fucking rocked.

  • @07BSPtC 1994 NYE with Primus and Porch at Henry J. Kaiser ? They also toured with Rollins Band and Sausage that year. Great era for heavy music !

  • @07BSPtC Also saw Helmet open for Primus that year. My ears seem to still not have recovered :)

  • Biopsia cerebral.

  • Page Hamilton owns all. Period.

  • Tommorrow night...Bluebird Theater Denver!

  • an old but great song :D :D

  • fucken trash

  • @kdsdhg thrash*

  • THRASH!!!!!!!!!

  • man...been forgetting how awesome early HELMET was

  • the need to come out with a new album and tour

  • I think they are on tour in September --- at least the west coast...

  • @rotator dude theyre going everywhere because they have a show here in nebraska in the beginning of october

  • most likely

  • One of the most underated bands ever.

  • A Mad Max clip with a supercharger whining then Bad Mood? Utterly awesome! Helmet never made good videos, but who gives a fuck when they make a sound like this. Mr Hamilton is the God of all things loud.

  • kicks all asses

  • This is their best album

  • a heap of donkey dung

  • This shit is bad ass!

  • I have this music in a 10 minute loop

    Awesome!

  • what the hell, all off them are topless or have a tank top on but then 1 guy in a suit??

  • doesnt that drummer look so cool haha

  • Idk why, but for some reason Paige sounds like Ren from Ren and Stimpy at 0:26

  • *Page. Spelled his name wrong lol.

  • only just checked out this band (and gotta say man they rock the f*** out, and bring some heavy stuff to floor but that vocalist is lame beyond belief. If they had someone who could acctually sing or scream or shout or at least do something that makes you pay attention then they could of been realy good ..

  • @penguinsniper18 They ARE really good. Without Page Hamilton, 90% of the bands to come out within the last 15 years wouldn't have something to rip off.

  • @xmwolverinexm - You really think they've been that influential? .. Btw are any of the members doing anything else?

  • @penguinsniper18 Look up late 90's and on "nu-metal" and such bands and you'll find that Helmet has been a big influence. One example off the top of my head is Deftones. They even covered the song "Sinatra" on their B-Sides and Rarities release. I personally don't like Helmet being connected to such genres because the bands influenced by them are, for the most part, garbage, but the point still stands. Helmet's drummer, John Stanier, is in Tomahawk by the way.

  • @penguinsniper18 They were a huge influence on Korn, Limp Bizkit, and the whole nu metal thing. Yes, all of that shit sucks major ass... but they were influential. =P

  • @Druffmaul

Come on now...there is good nu-metal and bad nu-metal...just like good hardcore and bad hardcore and son on. Korn's first two records are great!

  • @penguinsniper18 There's nothing wrong with Page's vocals. And it's "could have", not "could of."

  • Only Helmet could have a jock on drums. I love that they are just normal guys who like making loud noise. No stereotypical conformity issues here.

  • yeah

  • yeah.

  • awesome riffs!! :D

  • one of my fav songs evah!

  • kool

  • "none talented bros"

that is what is commonly referred to as really shit english, dude. now fuck off and come back with fully functioning ears/aesthetics.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @DogsOfDoomAreHowling oh rite page hamilton is only one of the greatest guitar players of his genre but yeah hes untalented alrite

  • does anyone know the name of the bass and other guitar player?

  • @nirvblec16

    Henry Bogdan for the bass

  • oh my g*d im so fucking happy this is still here

  • Taratarataratara... ta! :D

  • HELMET IS THE TRUTH

  • this rubs my helmet

  • Anybody ever listen to fudge tunnel? I think if you like helmet you'd like them too.

  • Alternative+Metal+Hardcore=Helmet

    Great!

  • Hm. Kinda sounds like early Swans (albums like "Filth" I mean). Pretty good!

  • @MithrasAtDusk swans, helmet both kick ass!

  • Helmet is Helmet.

  • Helmet are 'Hard Alternative'

  • some people considered "industrial metal" back in the day but whatever...

  • Anyone who ever considered Helmet "industrial metal" is a fucking dope, I'm sorry.

  • Who gives a fuck they fucking rock BITCHES

  • compared to nowadays this is not only an EP but even more than just an album. strap it on defined 90ies rock.

  • kick ass, makes me want to break shit

  • really good song. its kinda hard to classify this, cuz its not really metal. I'd say aggro-rock or something like that

  • it's thinking man's metal

  • It's Helmet man... Who gives a fuck if it's Euro Dance or Folk music? It's Hemlet...

  • haha, i'll have to agree with you on that. it's just hardcore shit

  • @sagan1976 haha hemlet :P

  • whats up with the guitar player at 1:39 ?

  • How can an EP be classed as an album? Never in it's truest sense.

  • this is there best cd or at least my fav. i like alota faith no more also

  • was strap it on their first album?

  • Yes, it was

  • @clebus Born Annoying was Helmet's first album.

  • @panzerkeil

Born Annoying was Helmets first 7", Strap it on was their first lp.

  • @clebus No I think Born Annoying came before this album

  • @SonicYouth5469

Which one? The first one was the EP, there was a remake later.

  • @jlthrift not sure I just thnk born annoying was released before any strap it on stuff

  • @SonicYouth5469

It was in 1989. The '94 version was a compilation of B-sides.

  • @clebus No born annoying was i think!

  • @TheKevinastro No, Clebus is right. Born Annoying was in 1995, Strap It On in 1990. I f you mean the Born Annoying SINGLE, that's right.

  • actually, that would be the Born Annoying EP (1990)

  • If it's an EP, it's not an LP.

  • @nirvblec16 I THINK ITS' BORN ANNOYING THE FIRST ALBUM ...

  • @nirvblec16 I'm pretty sure Born Annoying was!I have always been a fan and i have even met the front man page b fore:)

  • 100 % heavy without metal. ;-) still a great song. thanks for uplaoding this video ...

  • I have a cd with them... I♥it.

  • scary when it came out ? ? Ever see the travolta/quote unquote clip ? Jezzzzus

  • incidentally another one of my favourite music videos!

  • I meant I grew up ON Faith No More...my bad

  • lol

    the 90s

  • these guys mastered how to make simple riffs into badass songs, fucking perfect

  • so awesome

  • This was the rare moment when looking like a sports fan was a contrarian punk rock style

  • There is only one thing bad about this song......it ENDS.

  • @bensteinke niiiiiice

  • Helmet always makes me think of angry robots attacking Earth. Their metallic rhythm is as relentless as it is undeniable. Resistance is futile. Dance motherfucker!!!

  • Henry played drums in the Army Drum Corps, thats why he sounds like that.

  • You meant John Stanier, right? Since Henry is/was the bass player.

  • OOPS!!! LOL! Yeah thats who I meant! Thanks for the correction! )

  • classic song off of a great album. who couldn't love those 90's shorts (on the right) at 1:55?

seriously, though - great song and (embarassingly) - Helmet was the first heavy band I listened to that proved you didn't have to have long hair to make good heavy music

  • i hope who return with the basic team peter mengede , jhon stainer and henry bogham

  • it'll never happen my friend....this version of helmet is dead and buried.....on the plus side, john's in BATTLES, whom are amazing, Page continues on helmet, but it just ain't the same....and henry got out of hard rock all together, plays lap-steel guitar for a jazz influenced band called the Moonlighters...

  • stanier is in mike pattons band tomahalk.

  • Tomahawk has no intentions of reforming anytime soon, their last shows together were in 2003, Mike Patton has reformed with the original line up in FAITH NO MORE minus Jim Martin, the did a bunch of European dates this Summer, no word yet if they are coming to the States......I'm pissed, I grew up in FNM

  • amen man, huge FNM fan, just blows that by the time i discovered them (as in really became a fan) was with "album of the year" ...ya know..the last CD they made :P

  • stanier is also in The mark of Cain (Adelaide. Australia band).

  • right now he's drumming for the band, Battles.

  • god this blasts my fucking head off. stanier is the god of rock drums. he deserves the throne, "make room" for the king! this record is the first record I bought! Will never forget that feeling I had when I put it into my cd player. My parents yelled at me to turn the shit off but it was too late! I was already infected what I would call a good taste in music today!

  • Mr Schwark, I concur. Loved it, love it, will always love it.

  • damn right, I feel just the same!

  • Without question THEE most under-rated band of the 90's. Goddamn these guys ruled.

  • Terrific stuff. CD can be ordered from their site!
