Poor man's Unsane. Always thought so. Strap It On was OK, but every release after that, with Page's poorly-conceived attempts at "singing"...awful. He'd have been better sticking with Band Of Susans.
@disgracelanduk Dude, seriously if you don't like helmet, why are you here? Please leave because your opinion is shit. Also, what with the " poor man's unsane" bs? Helmet is helmet no one else. Don't bother reesponding back.
@disgracelanduk Do you really have to resort to name calling? I know you're entitled to your opinion. but If you don't like helmet, you didn't have to come to this video to troll. Come back to me when you can talk in a more intelligent manner. Otherwise, Gtfo.
@eatmyfun Both records came out around the same time and both bands were equally significant at the time, so I doubt that Page Hamilton was listening to Nirvana, I'd rather say Godflesh :)
@KonohanaVillager In the late 90s they were a very innovative and influential band, they influenced a lot of alternative metal bands who came in the late 90s and the early 2000s, bands like Limp Bizkit, Coal Chamber, System of a Down, Disturbed and Slipknot. But yes, from 2003 they started doing bad albums. But I don't know why do you say they aren't good. I see critics appreciate them, too.
@95TheDeftOne You know I could definitely see how it would've influenced nu-metal bands like Korn... funny since Korn used to be my favorite band for a few years in early 2000. Now I found this video while looking for post-hardcore punk bands and I have to say, I like this a lot more than any nu-metal music, which I cannot get into for the life of me anymore, haha.
@95TheDeftOne Deftones originated in 1989. Same year Janes Addiction and Helmet both released their debut albums. Not that JA holds a candle to Deftones, creatively.
@95TheDeftOne Korn, Deftones, and SOAD all suck! Faith No More and Helmet blow Jane's Addiction as well. Oh, and don't go around telling members of FNM that they influenced Korn, they feel no responsibility for that crap.
@efrainfranco70 I have all of their albums in mp3. If you REALLY want them, I suggest using Mediafire. Type in HELMET and then "Strap it on" and after that type in rar or mediafire. Like this "Helmet Strap It On Mediafire" on Google. You need a RAR extractor, which is free for 40 days on Download.Cnet dot com. Google is your friend!

If they had someone who could acctually sing or scream or shout or at least do something that makes you pay attention then they could of been realy good ..
@penguinsniper18 They ARE really good. Without Page Hamilton, 90% of the bands to come out within the last 15 years wouldn't have something to rip off.
@penguinsniper18 Look up late 90's and on "nu-metal" and such bands and you'll find that Helmet has been a big influence. One example off the top of my head is Deftones. They even covered the song "Sinatra" on their B-Sides and Rarities release. I personally don't like Helmet being connected to such genres because the bands influenced by them are, for the most part, garbage, but the point still stands. Helmet's drummer, John Stanier, is in Tomahawk by the way.
@penguinsniper18 They were a huge influence on Korn, Limp Bizkit, and the whole nu metal thing. Yes, all of that shit sucks major ass... but they were influential. =P
