Original version was not Pet Clark but The Ray Charles Singers in 1964 .Original Spanish song was by a Spanish group in 1960 .The Batchelors had a UK hit with it in `64 . This Version By Agnetha for me is the definitive one .Lovely song by a lovely lady .She is back to her best on this one .
I think that, instead of the whop, . . . whop, . . . whop in continuous brutalization of the snare, as is sometimes done a brush would have retained the gentility of the lyrics, . . .
Can you give me the lyrics of this song sung by Connie Francis, including the Italian part of the lyrics, because I cannot find the Italian lyrics part? Please help.
@QueenReigns1 Hoh, hoh, hoh, that's so funny if a blindingly obvious joke. Ken said that when it was invented Income tax was 2d in the pound (old pence) and that he thought it still was.
Sings and looks like an angel. It's funny, I never cared for this song. Now it is one of my favorites I think. All the music on the "My Colouring Book" cd was arranged by Agnetha, so of course it is perfect - like her. There will never be another like her.
How in the world can this beautiful woman still retain her voice AFTER not recording for 17 years? Also, how in the world has she learned to sing in so many languages?
It's hard to believe that this woman looks so much better than when she was with ABBA!
@Adamus70 Thank you for participating in an important matter! Unfortunately my poor english does not let me in all sort out. I need a quality translation into Russian.
The original is by Petula Clark, though Connie Francis was the singer that inspired Agnetha the most during her youth and she based her style on Connie! There's a lot of information about this song and album beneath the video. It used to be at the side and easily visible until youtube changed the layout a few months ago for no reason.
@christer1947ify No, the original was recording by The Bachelors 1964, long ago Agnetha was realized that song. But she make this song really charmant!
even here in I would think maybe late 40s her smile and beautiful cheekbones still move me ,I was a big fan of ABBA in the mid 70s and still she is a woman I will always wish I couldve met
esta mujer es divina.....yo la ame, la amo y la amare toda mi vida......i love you agnetha so much...a lot more than you think...edward....from barranquilla colombia
Correction: after "is to pelo "(it's your hair) She sings' "son tus besos" (it's your kisses). For anyone who speaks Spanish really well, Its sounds as if she says "son dos besos, which would change the translation to " it's two kisses" you have to listen closely though to catch this minute detail. Any Spanish speakers out there that agree?
I tell you one thing, she put everything she had into this song. I wish there was a video of her performing this particular version. By the way, if you were to translate the Spanish verse literally it would be " It's your palpitations, it's your face, it's your hair, I get extremely excited.
Palpitar is loosely translated as (palpitation/heartbeats)
Thanks for the post. Redo of the great hit by Ray Charles, the real one not that piano screamer, who had a group the Ray Charles singers, much in the manner of Ray Conniff.
Yes this is strong emotional singing by Agnetha as only she can! I've only just noticed your comment in my channel. I do have the vid you mention with Agnetha doing her bit for air force recruitment by climbing into a SAAB Draken cockpit and will upload it fairly soon - cheers from John!
I've done "Kanske Var Min Kind Lite Het" and "Manga Ganger An" by Agnetha too recently - more Swedish for you from her successful pre-Abba solo career!
@12cornishmen What a wonderful version, first time I have heard it, thanks for posting this one. BTW have you listened to Englebert's rendition? it is pretty amazing
Sounds like you're having a great time discovering these classic 60's songs superbly interpreted by Agnetha on her My Coloring Book cd. Her singing range is exceptional and highly emotional!
I'll be damned! this song is one of the greatest songs on that golden era of 60s!
it even has spanish adaptation, in fact the little bit she sings in spanish is part of the spanish lyrics too, if talk about singers comebacks this has to be the mother of all the comebacks, no doubt a great album from such lovely lady Agnetha Faltskog :)

Yes I had to delve a bit for this info Bill. Agnetha prefers the privacy of her farm, so she wanted similar privacy to recommence recording. The familiar Atlantis studio where Abba began offered that privacy. Benny's old piano is still there. I've got the lights off now Bill to listen to this song, Agnetha sings with great passion as always.
Wow, this is almost an identical to Petula Clark's version on her "International Hits" album. Is that Spanish or Italian in the middle, Petula does that too.
Hi Dave, yes you're right this interpretation is based on Petula Clark's version, with Spanish in the middle. Click on "more" in top right window (under About This Video) and there is a paragraph in which Agnetha acknowledges Petula's version of this song.

Listen you Spanish-speakers: there is a Z in "Me estremezco".
Estremecerse is like conocer in that it takes a "zco" in the first-person singular.
Let's get excited (to the point of shuddering, what a great verb) the right way.
