It's not clear AT ALL how you kill the Banshees around 5:20 or so.

Nice video, but two tips.

1) You dont need to make 3 force fields, if positioned properly on that ramp, two is enough to block an incoming mob and it makes your psionic storm more accuracte.

2) There was no need to use force fields if you time your storms properly on the first 3-4 waves (Zerglings and marines), when the banelings and hydralisks come, yes that's a time to use them. Also you didn't have to use force field on those marines when they were a touch from dead.

Finally got it after 3 attempts with 231... Previous attempts I only morphed 1 archon, the successful attempt however I morphed 2 which helped me with the ultra... the tranks were cake after that by just running up the west flank ramp and letting my archons zap them while they were transitioning to siege mode... Thanks man.

I get pooped on in this challenge. Probably because I split my force in half in the very beginning though. Trying it this way. This is the only challenge I have gold left to get on. Gonna try this, and I shall report my results to you my master.

Also, I love the archon sounds. My computer sucks so I play with everything on minimum and with almost no sound. So I've never heard them before.

@HoboUnderTheBridge Took 5 tries, but I got it! 230 kills! I didn't use nearly as many Archon hallucinations as the guy in this video did which kind of punched me in the butt in the end, but I still made it, the rocks didn't even get destroyed which was cool. Though I lost an HT early, due to certain reaper with a thirst for HT blood who completely ignored it's AI and went all Rambo on it while ignoring everything else. This and the Protoss Micro Challenge were the only ones I had trouble on.

i just wanted to mention that it only requires 2 force fields to block these ramps if placed well. also, if you place the 2 on the ramp a little farther up than he does, the larger groups of enemies won't spread to the sides of the ramp completely missing psionic dmg. plus you'll save lots of mana using 1 less FF every wave

Nice micro. But what you did WRONG: you placed Barriers (from your Centries) away too low down the ramp: so, your Centries had to step forward and become a target instead of staying up the hill and being invisible for the enemy.

You can "avoid" those siege tanks very easily. You can put up one forcefield near the cliff with only a little gap opening. The tanks can't move through that but they try anyway and you can easily kill them with one archon (or w/e that merged guy is called) This is how i got my gold lol <3 (only had archon and one of those shield guys left)

@mickboe1 Just did it using 2 forcefields, the storm hits so much harder with 2 than 3. With 2 you can prevent them from gaining LOS and channel them into a smaller area thanks tot he confines of the ramp. With 3, units tend to walk around the other 2 fields, they physically can't with 2.

Man, I couldn't get Gold on this for the longest time, then I watched this video.

It wasn't the FF placement that made the difference, it's how you use Psi Storm. You have to be VERY efficient with your Psi Storm casting, or else run out of energy too early.

Using only two HTs at a time while the other 4 hang back to recharge really makes or breaks this challenge, believe it or not. It's what made the difference for me. That, and knowing when it's safe/smart to make Archons.

I got 298/225, 299 was a thor, 300 was a mothership. If I hadn't have lost all of my units in a mistake right before then, I might have gotten (all?) 300.

What I found works better than using two templars is cycling through the storm on all 6 of them, so by the time you've used 6, the first one is back at 200 energy.

wow this guide was very helpful, before watching this i couldnt get to silver, then i watched this saw different techniques and i actually beat the whole thing, last waves are all bosses, battleship then ultralisk then thor then mothership, dont use any abilities on the mothership at first tho, it will put you in a vortex back to back just eat it then put a bubble up at the end and you'll be fine

For the first 4 waves, you don't need any storm as they don't have sight on the high ground and you only need 2 force fields

Great strategy. Just finished with 233. One thing I'll add though if you only need 2 force fields to block ramps. You save 50 mana this way instead of casting 3 every wave.

I think the thing with doing 3 is he creates a pocket for mobs to run into, get trapped phase 3 profit after a Storm..With two they can spread out easier and your storms arent as effective.

Well played. I liked your placement of the forcefields at the southeast, mine weren't quite as well placed. And FYI, the first ramp can be blocked off successfully by only two well placed forcefields. :)

@CollateralSC ty and yeah thats true, but I liked the placement with 3 a bit better for the storm. Hits better I think since the mobs are, most of the time, walking inside the gap. And the sentries have energy enough so :P
