  • Saw her at Gloss cathedral, she is unbelievable live. Spellbinding.

  • but I'm broken, too. ♥

  • i watched a girl perform this .. i didn't have the chance to ask her what the song was called.. but it was so so beautiful i remembered all the lyrics ... i finally found the song and i couldn't be happier.

  • Incredibly beautiful moody song, perfectly sung by Laura. It really makes me loose myself. "I miss his smell" really hurts

  • If you are about to kill yourself and listen to this... xD

  • yeah that person who disliked laura, they obviously dont know good music. God bless u Ms Marling, can't wait to see ya on tour. I know what im spending me next wages on. :-)

  • I need to see her live!!! such a brilliant fantastic british lady, in fairness everyone in the country needs her albums in there homes. :-)

  • Who is the 1 person that decided it was a good idea to dislike this video?

Are you deaf, or did you just miss the like button?

  • ffffhfhhfhfhfhhhff so freaking beautiful, i cant deal with it. how is she so brilliant and so beautiful? not fair

  • Youtube must invest in a REPLAY button

  • @yjadalyn1 it has got a replay button?

  • @yjadalyn1 they do have a replay button, it just shows up at the end of the video sometimes. But a button to the side would be a great idea!

  • This song makes me want to fall in love, only to get my heart-broken--so I can yearn along to such beautiful pain. This song, her voice, those words, her...they are so eccentrically devastatingly beautiful.

  • is there any chance someone can explain this song to me? this may sound extremely idiotic but i really do not understand and i want to because it's so beautiful. it would be so much more beautiful if i knew the meaning behind it.

  • @shannoncox95 I don't really know the real meaning behind it but that's the beauty of this song. It can be about anything you want really. For me it reminds me of a time when I was with someone and we broke up after 3 years and eventually I found someone else and suddenly he was "low" but I was "spoken for", "if he would have stayed, you never would have taken my hand". It can mean anything you like. It sounds like it could be religous too or whatever. Only Laura can explain what it means2 her.

  • @shannoncox95 It's about two lovers who are seperated because one is off fighting in WWII. She wrote it after being inspired by reading an article about letters between wives and husbands at war.

  • no wait, this is my favourite. i can't decide, she leaves such choice. all of her songs are just so so beautiful.

  • I love this song... the appeal to Hera and just the overall feeling of hopelessness that can come because of how Western society views marriage is beautiful.

  • 'I miss his smell'.

All that beautiful lyricism, and then that one line.... gah, it's perfection.

  • made me cry.

  • "I miss his sme-e-ell..."

    kurwa, love it.

  • I'm pretty sure this is questioning religion. It's so poetic.

  • it could be heartbreak, death, betrayal, or all of them combined, or none of these at all, whatever or whoever she wrote this about it, i felt it-all of her pain, happiness and sorrow. its amazing how much i understand about how she feels, as if i were close to her personally. if she can make anyone feel like this over youtube, imagine how incredible she must be in person.

  • laura marling is a genius im so glad i found her music!

  • oh

    at last

  • This touches me in more ways than i could ever imagine! Not in a dirty way now now!

  • This is shit fam

  • plz dont be a sell out

  • This makes me cry.

  • The song is beautiful. Laura Marling is beautiful.

  • Complication is a 'gift' forced upon us by the devil. Simplicity is his nemesis. The purest of emotions are the ones most devasting. They are not diluted with confusion and complication, which makes them overwhelming to absorb. Pure joy and pain are equally as destructive, and Ms Marling has blown me away.

  • @18MaskedMen how is joy destructive? it's the opposite of destruction. it's unending happiness, no matter what.

  • genial

  • Oh my god! This is just tooooooooooooo lovely!

  • beautiful.

  • this is just so beautiful.... i have never seen such perfection in anything other than Laura marling ... she is a born goddess! :)
