  • yet jackass was on tv last night with a snake biting a guys dick. now thats just sad

  • mr funny face. Not even a 4 yr old would find that offensive. Oh wait I guess that's the point isn't it. I think it's far more offensive to remove the word making the decision for us. Besides ass is hardly a bad word anyway.

  • "because dickless here shut off the protection grid"

  • The editing was superb in Ghostbusters. Just about everything was superb in Ghostbusters

  • These alternate takes were deliberate. It was so they didn't have to censor the profanity when it aired on regular channels.

  • Does anyone notice he smiles at the end? Must be embarrassed :P

  • ...Funny face. Seriously? That's just sad.

  • @HamatoKameko Sad isn't the word! I'm so glad the went with the alternate in the actual movie! "Funny face" just sounds so.........punk-ish!

  • why cant he just have said for T.V you go and get a court order and ill sue your butt

  • @ndingo Because even the sound of these words can make people's ears bleed. It's a very little known fact and that's why censorship is necessary to protect the ever so delicate public's health.

  • You can always tell when they put in somethihg else for t.v. I was watching the scene..and I couldn't tell. Stantz said, until Wally Wick turned off the whatever here. Is this true? Yes, mayor, this man is SOME sort of rodent, I don't know which. Instead of dickless here. yes, your honor or mayor this man had no dick.

  • Can't he just say butt?

  • wow this is weird, did they shoot this while filming cuz they knew it would be on TV?

and its actually pretty sad that they are allowed to get away with some some real nasty stuff on TV today compared to yesteryear where they went out of there way so that kids dont have potty mouth growing up cuz "peter venkman did".

  • Thay had t.v.'s then. That second sentence made no sens though.

  • They had t.v.s then, so yes.

  • This is so werid to see. Here in the UK we just edit stuff out rather than replace them for TV broadcasts. For instance when I watched this as a kid Peter says "you go get a court order!" and it immediately cuts to Walter's next line. Simple. The whole Peter's encounter with Zuul was utterly removed until I saw it on VHS and was like WHOA! A deleted scene! lol

  • What scene do you mean, it always had the Dana as Zuul and peter on my 80's TV version. where she is in bed etc

What's weird is i saw the deleted scenes on daytime TV on ukgold, such as the Sailor getting laid line. Things are far less strict now.

  • Well this was the early 1990's for me. It was cut either for time but I think because it may have been too frightening for kids. Everything was missing. After Peter asks "Are we still going out?" the scene shifts to where Louis is staggering through the park. I still have it all taped on a very old VHS lol

  • LOL you think thats old mine was on BETAMAX recorded off the TV lol

Your version sounds raped to fuck, it must have been a 2pm weekend daytime version. They do that sometimes, i've seen police academy with the swearing removed shown at 3 pm on saturday.

  • Well actually no lol I specifically remember it being a night showing on ITV lol At about 9pm! I remember being out with my dad somewhere and telling him to get moving so we could get home to watch it lol I'd only ever seen the sequel back then which tended to be shown more often. Perhaps because it wasn't as "adult" as the first...

  • That is very strange, I have no answer for why that was! Everytime i've seen it on TV it had the Zuul bit.

I always was shocked how much swearing back to the Future has, as in the past the TV versions removed it all too! They don't now.

It's amazing how much swearing PG films had.

  • Ivan Reitman is one of the directors known for shooting alternate TV safe takes

  • Guess that answers my question.

  • I wonder how they did these alternate takes in the first place. Did they just film them ahead of time knowing that the movie might end up on TV?

  • and I'll sue your ass...

  • Ummm excuse me mr pecker...

  • Where did you get such high quality versions? You watch it on TV now and the movie is unedited. I dug out my old copy from ABC and have the TV Edits, but the quality is awful. Awesome! Thanks for posting.

  • i thought this scene was funnier anyways.

  • Seriously? They can't say ass on TV? Wow.

  • You can now, but this aired in the 1980's.
