This has been my favorite PSU video of all time on youtube. Time for a new chapter...I mean a new book. It's tough watching JoePA here, can't believe he is gone. Rest Easy Joe
I was there. A Buckeye fan sitting at the very bottom of the student section in the endzone. Penn State fans may not be very neighborly, but they sure make for a fun college football environment. Great weekend for me, despite the loss. Ive been back a couple times since, and it never disappoints.
really sucks that no top hs players want to come to penn st and play in front of the biggest crowds in the country if we had a better couch they would come
that was my 2nd ever PSU game and it was the best 1 ever the atmosphere was amazing and it was the rebound of PSU. Penn state Ohio state is the best big 10 rivalry right now
I remember Beaver Canyon looking like USA had just won WWIII. I lived in Beaver Hill, standard Softmore mistake and hanging off a balcony watching the mayhem after we beat the bucks. God Bless this wonderful university. I have multiple friends who are other fans and if they are being honest, they know where the most KRUNK student section is. Beaver Stadium son, get your mind right! Fight on STATE!
Ohio State is a bunch fuckin cheaters...they have to cheat to win...Penn State is the best of all time noone is better than us anywhere in the world...WE ARE...the rest can fuck OFF@@@!!!!
I will not allow this game to be forgotten!! It's been nearly 6 years (wow!!) but this saturday will be engraved in my heart forever. Please don't let this memory die.
I absolutely love the Tamba Hali sack on Troy Smith. He didn't just hit that Buckeye, he stomped him like a mad bull, and turned him upside down on his head, AND forced the game ending fumble. WE ARE-LINEBACKER U. WE ARE-PENN STATE!
I'm a die hard Ohio State fan and I think the "Let's Go State" chant (and Penn State's student section) is awesome. I wish instead of selling out to the rich alum who sit in their seats all game, OSU would take a page out of Penn State's book and make the student section bigger around the stadium. To this day I refuse to do the "buckeye bounce". Any self respecting Ohio State fan knows we ripped it off Penn State's student section.
@rmcmillen50 Haha, no problem. Just a fan of college football, especially the big 10 no matter how arrogant Jim Delany makes us sound with that "legends" and "leaders garbage". I'd like to see JoePa go out with another title (of course as long as my bucks don't have a shot). I sat next to a Penn State Alum on a plane once and I didn't realize how many more titles he should have than just 2.

@bigt130913 Love the comment, but PSU has already sold out with their new seat licensing program. They claim only 10% of season tix holders have forfeited their tix due to the surcharge; however, actual numbers appear to be much, much higher. so much for home field advantage. bunch of assholes in charge up there. my son is a 5 star prospect and there is no way he's going there with that nonsense going on.
@bigt130913 I'm a son of an Ohio State alumni and my mother went to Penn State for undergrad and Ohio State for Vet School. I've been to both the Shoe and Happy Valley. Nothing compares to game day at Penn State. The student section is the most important feature of the stadium and game day experience, and is the reason why I will be attending Penn State next fall.
i still remember it like it was yesterday - the weather, smell of the food, so many beers and the 220.00 tab i had at Tony's Big Easy! one of my favorite days of my life. just being at state college during a whiteout weekend or just a game in general it makes a hell of a time and this game was possibly the greatest game of the decade for pennstate or possibly in college footbal. WE ARE PENN STATE!!!!
I was at that game! I can honestly say that was the one game where the guy working the speaker system played a little too much zombie nation- cause a few of the railings came off the upper deck cause of the vibrations. It was sick! When Hali sacked troy to finish it the place erupted and went ape!

Agree completely. Nothing even comes close to that 2005 osu game. I've been to every big game at beaver stadium since that game. All of the full stadium whiteouts, every osu and michigan game. None of those games were as loud as that 05 game. Loudest game in the history of football.
OH FUCK.........this was the LOUDEST football game I ever been to........and I been to about 200 games around the country in the last 20 years.........this was the LOUDEST........the student section was feckin' INSANE !!!
GREAT video. I was a sophomore at the time so I'm a little bit biased, but that is LITERALLY the best sporting event I've ever been to. Oh, and I've been to Cal Ripken Jr.'s last game... that's how intense and amazing this game was.
One of my favorite Saturdays ever. Ah, just watching this video gives me chills. This was THE day when Penn State officially returned to the top of college football.
yeah...huge props rmcmillen, this is an awesome video, and this was one of the best PSU games I've ever seen. This season was during my senior year at PSU...
...awesome graduation gift I'd say. Thanks for this vid, it reminds me of one of the best years of my life!
While this is a great game, I wish Penn State would have gone for the jugular after going up 17-10 instead of squatting on the ball for the second half, since a 31-10 beating would have been an even bigger statement game. But still, this was a great game and great season. I think that the 2005 Nittany Lions are one of the most underrated teams of all time. This team usually not only won but DOMINATED their opponents, including a great Wisconsin team.
to rmcmillen50- thanks for making this video so much, im a diehard. this game and that season was magical, it seems so far away now, with m rob and d will as a freshman, wow. thank you so much for putting this together. i needed to help myself feel better after seing all of our seniors go out with a lose to usc.
i remember i couldn't get tickets for this game, so i had to go to my cousins dorm room to watch it. then i came back to the stadium to tailgate after wards, thank you so much!
ran out of characters, but yeah this brings back so many memories to justin king, alan zimmeitis (can't spell his name), calvin lowry, m rob. Ill rembember that season and this game until im very old. thank you so much again.
busman64 , ohio state fans arent better . my friend's dad went to the game and their all sore losers . they told him that they won the game because they took Clark outt . like wtf . ohio state sucks . Fuck O-H-I-O
The series is 12-12, that's not exactly once every four years. You're just bitter that PSU, starting in 2008, has began a series of owning Ohio State. The Buckeyes will lose UGLY in 2009.
Penn State won in 1994, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2005, and 2008, which puts it at 6-10 in conference play, which is actually close to a split down the middle (actually 3 out of 8). Before joining the Big Ten, Penn State had a 6-2 record over Ohio State.
Mind telling me how I made myself look bad? If anything, it makes you look bad to not only be proven wrong, but to resort to weak insults. Now, explain how 6 out of 16 equals 25 percent. Penn State's only bad span was 2000-2004 with the series. Take the dark years out of the equation and the series is 5-7. Now, if you can come back with something meaningful, by all means, please do. Otherwise, it just proves that you're wrong and it's driving you crazy.
driving me crazy, now that is laughable, I really wish you could see my face right now to see how "crazy" it looks. Penn State's program is sub-par compared to Ohio States, ever since that school has been in the Big Ten they've been our bitch, the only reason you actually won this year is because of a freshman QB mistake, not out of any talent from that team.
Penn State lost the series lead to Ohio State, when Joe Pa croaks at halftime one of these days we'll see your program fall to pieces.
Gotta love Ohio State fans, they drink more kool-aid than any other fanbase combined. With the "JoePa croaks" statement amongst other things a dumb kid might say, I just lost what trace of respect I had left for you. It's one thing to be a fan, it's another to be the type of homer you are. What do you blame 1994's 63-14 massacre on? Or how about Enis exposing your defense in 1997? Or the 1999 drubbing? Or the 2001 comeback? Or the 2005 game where Troy Smith was Tamba Hali's tackle dummy?
You mean 1999 when we had a 6-6 season? You mean 2001, Ohio State's rebuilding and 7-5 season? And do you seriously want to mention any other time where Ohio didn't have a quality team? Ohio State lost its best players in the '96 and '97 draft.
We drink more of everything, including taking the lead away from Penn State and turning it into a tie, which will end this season in what will soon be called the unhappy valley, Ohio State's offense will be better than what it was in 1995.
I'll give you 1999, but Penn State only finished 10-3 that year after "The Collapse". 2001 may have been a rebuilding year, but that was a 5-7 Penn State squad. And don't tell me the 97 Buckeyes weren't a quality team, they finished tied for 2nd in the conference. Your 1994 team finished 9th in the AP poll and your 2005 team 4th in both polls. And I highly doubt your offense will be as good as the one that barely scraped by a 9-3 Penn State squad in 1995. I predict PSU wins by two touchdowns.
Wins by two touchdowns? Wow, see, that's why you'll never be considered a professional sports analyst, and your opinion won't be recognized by anybody not a Penn State fan.
The Buckeyes still lost THEIR BEST players in the 96 and 97 drafts, including Eddie George and Orlando Pace, both of which were GREAT players, we also lost MULTIPLE other great players to the FIRST ROUND of the draft.
Ohio State if anything will be better next year, we're only weak at the corner position..
Or at least not by Ohio State fans since I don't predict 13-0 (8-0) every year for Ohio State. If I wanted to be irrational, I'd say PSU wins by a videogame score. I predict that OSU will do well in 2010, 2009 is another story. From what I've seen you're replacing most skill positions.
The 1996 Buckeyes IMO were actually better than the 1995 Buckeyes. The 95 OSU team was about equal to, or a little bit below 95 Northwestern. I still don't know how you lost to Michigan those years.
Because Cooper treated the Michigan game like it was an ordinary game, which was not so.
I don't predict Ohio State going 13-0, I predict them having a 10+ win season with a BCS or January bowl appearance, potential losses are USC, PSU, and Iowa or Illinois.
Take into consideration 2007, which was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Ohio State, losing Ginn, Smith, Gonzalez and other key players, we went 11-2, but we're a faster team this year, and our QB can pass great now. I'm not worried.
I predict Ohio State losing to USC, PSU, Iowa, and Purdue. The biggest difference is that in 2006, Wells, Robiskie, and other 2007 starters got to share time as starters for a year. I knew in 2007 that Ohio State was more loaded than people thought. Pryor's passing may have improved, but how many WRs are returning? A returning QB but with a lot of changes at WR and a new RB sounds a lot like 2003 to 2004 OSU. I wouldn't worry about Illinois, though. I don't expect them to be much this year.
You have us losing to Purdue? Wow, dude, now I know never to take your opinion into consideration.
A difference between Ohio State in 2007 is that Hartline came out of Nowhere, yet was our second best in 2007 and 2008, Robiskie was a third in 2006. The thing about 2003, was that we lost our QB, now Pryor has a better arm, is in the spread, and we have two running backs, Saine, which is good at blocking and is fast as fuck, and Boom, which has just that, can be used together in unison in the gun.
Well, Michigan fans on here thought I was crazy last year for picking the Wolverines to lose to Utah, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, and Illinois, while beating Wisconsin. Purdue will be greatly improved this year, so I wouldn't be so quick to count them out.
I think for Ohio State in 2008 the real question is whether Saine and Boom will be more like Royster/Green of PSU or more like Hill/Clay of Wisconsin. Also, we have to see how Pryor does passing the ball and how the young WRs do.
The WRs if anything will be the same or better, they are just too fast, we're going to have four wide outs that run a 4.37 or better.
If you saw or didn't see Pryor at the spring game, you'd know his passing is more than fine now, Small is a playmaker, truly underrated, and the only thing we're weak at is corner.
If Tressel runs the option with Saine, and can run up the middle with Herron, we're fine.
And Ohio State's D-Line will be better than it was last year, rushing won't be our concern.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Penn State and their fans are an embarassment to the big ten, they throw gatorade bottles full of piss at opposing fans and full beer cans. Pennsylvania class.
Wow a band member got hit by a gatorade bottle of urin thrown by a drunk fan...hardley anything to cry over. And the Ohio State fans that got beer cans thrown at them were complete retards for trying to go to a PSU Student Party. When you go to away games you're supposed to stay in the tailgate or in town...not wonder around the campus like you own the place.
72seeker72 just shut up , daryll clark is going to run all over your shittyy overrated football team . terrell pryor is a one man show and thinks he can do everything . yea well have fun losing to MSU next week and getting fucking romped by PSu next week. WE ARE ..
I was there with the girl I'll always love. This was the best day of my life and I'll never forget it and I'll never forget that girl. It was the best 7 years of my life.
Sure. Contenders. There are a lot of those right now. Rankings don't mean shit right now. (You know that, right?) Anyway, Ohio State's pretty much got Penn State's number these days. You haven't won in Columbus since 1978. Uh,that's 30 years if my math's correct. So why bother thinking you'll win this time? We stop Royster and the wheels fall off. Sorry, better luck next time. GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are incorrect. Absolutely National Title Contenders. Nice showing vs USC by the way...after we crush Michigan, we'll come into the horseshoe with so much momentum you will not be able to stop us. We are going all the way this year! GO STATE! BEAT THE FUCKEYES!!!
Defensively, I agree. Royster will be stopped and Clark will not look so good as a result. I'm worried that we can even manage 20 points against PSU's defense with Pryor's COMPLETE lack of throwing ability.
this is one of the most inspirational games in Penn State football history! Go Hali and Posluzny! Yep, and hopefully 2008 brings more success!! Goooo Penn State! :-)
guys we got to stop living in the past...b/c this season penn state will make 2005 season an understatement...i see big things for us this year baby...optimistic? nah i'm just being realistic...spread HD replaces pocket passing that was designed for morelli
it is true that they would be better but still there atleast a 10 win team with the cahnce of being a 12 win team i could see us losing to OSU and Wisconsin but other than those 2 we should have no problem
how does anyone think penn state doesnt have the best fans in the world and how penn state isnt the most hostel envirment... ohio state hell no clemson hell no michigan hell no remember ohio state fans you cant spell cock sucker without osu
i was in that crowd somewhere it was a really great season except for that bull shit michigan game and even with that game we should have been in the national championship
What a great video. I watch this whenever I need a pick-up. Really great job putting all those clips together. Really get the feel of how it was a week long event of insanity. If you could have harnessed the energy in the stadium that night I think you could have enough electricity to run the country for a week. This should be the recruiting video penn state uses.
Not only was that one of the greatest PSU games that I have ever been to, but that entire season was unbelieveable. We turned Miami into Happy Valley South during the Orange Bowl. No one does it like PSU fans!!
Damn straight! People say I'm one of the biggest PSU fans in my county! I'll come to a game in a PSU jacket, jersey, and hat on, and sometimes, I'll paint a Nittany Lion head on my face and stick blue and white feathers in my hat.
Penn State practically steamrolled over Ohio State in this game, it wasn't as close as the 17-10 score indicated. If a few things had gone a little differently, it could have easily been 20-10, 24-10, 17-3, 24-3, or some other drubbing. More than anything it was the defense that aboslutely drubbed the Buckeyes.
And now that I think about it, it could have a couple times very easily been another TD for PSU on top of that, and Troy Smith's scramble was nothing but dumb luck. This could have been a 26-3 beating, and that's what it looked like on the field.
yeah osu won. our defense completely fell apart. For the first half of the first quarter, the game really did look like a flashback (osu gets a field goal, then we counter with a touchdown). But whatever, i'm sure anyone who went to the game will tell you they had a good time at least before hand. Personally I'll be rooting for OSU to keep winning so perhaps some critics (cough sec fans cough) will lay off the big ten. But OSU better not blow it again in the bowl game
this was is and probably always will be the greatest game in beaver staium history 2005 was a special year thank you joepa tell mom and dad hi in heaven

GREAT video. I was a sophomore at the time so I'm a little bit biased, but that is LITERALLY the best sporting event I've ever been to. Oh, and I've been to Cal Ripken Jr.'s last game... that's how intense and amazing this game was.

Say the word "Hamby" to any OSU fan and they'll start frothing at the mouth.
Not only did he miss an easy block that resulted in the Troy Smith sack/fumble, but he also dropped an easy TD catch against Texas that year.
Hamby....Grrrrr!
By the way Penn State, great game. Look forward to more nailbiters!

....PENN STATE!!!
This team usually not only won but DOMINATED their opponents, including a great Wisconsin team.

more like 63-14. wait what is that. o yea its the worst lost in the series. and yes penn state won that game.
ajfkrm 3 years ago
The series is 12-12, that's not exactly once every four years. You're just bitter that PSU, starting in 2008, has began a series of owning Ohio State. The Buckeyes will lose UGLY in 2009.
MVillani1985 2 years ago
Penn State has only won once every four years since they joined the Big Ten, Penn State lead the series before then.
OSUGreatestOfAllTime 2 years ago
Penn State won in 1994, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2005, and 2008, which puts it at 6-10 in conference play, which is actually close to a split down the middle (actually 3 out of 8). Before joining the Big Ten, Penn State had a 6-2 record over Ohio State.
MVillani1985 2 years ago
Thanks for making yourself look bad.
OSUGreatestOfAllTime 2 years ago
Mind telling me how I made myself look bad? If anything, it makes you look bad to not only be proven wrong, but to resort to weak insults. Now, explain how 6 out of 16 equals 25 percent. Penn State's only bad span was 2000-2004 with the series. Take the dark years out of the equation and the series is 5-7. Now, if you can come back with something meaningful, by all means, please do. Otherwise, it just proves that you're wrong and it's driving you crazy.
MVillani1985 2 years ago
driving me crazy, now that is laughable, I really wish you could see my face right now to see how "crazy" it looks.
OSUGreatestOfAllTime 2 years ago
Gotta love Ohio State fans, they drink more kool-aid than any other fanbase combined. With the "JoePa croaks" statement amongst other things a dumb kid might say, I just lost what trace of respect I had left for you. It's one thing to be a fan, it's another to be the type of homer you are. What do you blame 1994's 63-14 massacre on? Or how about Enis exposing your defense in 1997? Or the 1999 drubbing? Or the 2001 comeback? Or the 2005 game where Troy Smith was Tamba Hali's tackle dummy?
MVillani1985 2 years ago
You mean 1999 when we had a 6-6 season? You mean 2001, Ohio State's rebuilding and 7-5 season? And do you seriously want to mention any other time where Ohio didn't have a quality team? Ohio State lost its best players in the '96 and '97 draft.
We drink more of everything, including taking the lead away from Penn State and turning it into a tie, which will end this season in what will soon be called the unhappy valley, Ohio State's offense will be better than what it was in 1995.
OSUGreatestOfAllTime 2 years ago
I'll give you 1999, but Penn State only finished 10-3 that year after "The Collapse". 2001 may have been a rebuilding year, but that was a 5-7 Penn State squad. And don't tell me the 97 Buckeyes weren't a quality team, they finished tied for 2nd in the conference. Your 1994 team finished 9th in the AP poll and your 2005 team 4th in both polls. And I highly doubt your offense will be as good as the one that barely scraped by a 9-3 Penn State squad in 1995. I predict PSU wins by two touchdowns.
MVillani1985 2 years ago
Wins by two touchdowns? Wow, see, that's why you'll never be considered a professional sports analyst, and your opinion won't be recognized by anybody not a Penn State fan.
The Buckeyes still lost THEIR BEST players in the 96 and 97 drafts, including Eddie George and Orlando Pace, both of which were GREAT players, we also lost MULTIPLE other great players to the FIRST ROUND of the draft.
Ohio State if anything will be better next year, we're only weak at the corner position..
OSUGreatestOfAllTime 2 years ago
Or at least not by Ohio State fans since I don't predict 13-0 (8-0) every year for Ohio State. If I wanted to be irrational, I'd say PSU wins by a videogame score. I predict that OSU will do well in 2010, 2009 is another story. From what I've seen you're replacing most skill positions.
The 1996 Buckeyes IMO were actually better than the 1995 Buckeyes. The 95 OSU team was about equal to, or a little bit below 95 Northwestern. I still don't know how you lost to Michigan those years.
MVillani1985 2 years ago
Because Cooper treated the Michigan game like it was an ordinary game, which was not so.
I don't predict Ohio State going 13-0, I predict them having a 10+ win season with a BCS or January bowl appearance, potential losses are USC, PSU, and Iowa or Illinois.
Take into consideration 2007, which was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Ohio State, losing Ginn, Smith, Gonzalez and other key players, we went 11-2, but we're a faster team this year, and our QB can pass great now. I'm not worried.
OSUGreatestOfAllTime 2 years ago
I predict Ohio State losing to USC, PSU, Iowa, and Purdue. The biggest difference is that in 2006, Wells, Robiskie, and other 2007 starters got to share time as starters for a year. I knew in 2007 that Ohio State was more loaded than people thought. Pryor's passing may have improved, but how many WRs are returning? A returning QB but with a lot of changes at WR and a new RB sounds a lot like 2003 to 2004 OSU. I wouldn't worry about Illinois, though. I don't expect them to be much this year.
MVillani1985 2 years ago
You have us losing to Purdue? Wow, dude, now I know never to take your opinion into consideration.
A difference between Ohio State in 2007 is that Hartline came out of Nowhere, yet was our second best in 2007 and 2008, Robiskie was a third in 2006. The thing about 2003, was that we lost our QB, now Pryor has a better arm, is in the spread, and we have two running backs, Saine, which is good at blocking and is fast as fuck, and Boom, which has just that, can be used together in unison in the gun.
OSUGreatestOfAllTime 2 years ago
Well, Michigan fans on here thought I was crazy last year for picking the Wolverines to lose to Utah, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, and Illinois, while beating Wisconsin. Purdue will be greatly improved this year, so I wouldn't be so quick to count them out.
I think for Ohio State in 2008 the real question is whether Saine and Boom will be more like Royster/Green of PSU or more like Hill/Clay of Wisconsin. Also, we have to see how Pryor does passing the ball and how the young WRs do.
MVillani1985 2 years ago
The WRs if anything will be the same or better, they are just too fast, we're going to have four wide outs that run a 4.37 or better.
If you saw or didn't see Pryor at the spring game, you'd know his passing is more than fine now, Small is a playmaker, truly underrated, and the only thing we're weak at is corner.
If Tressel runs the option with Saine, and can run up the middle with Herron, we're fine.
And Ohio State's D-Line will be better than it was last year, rushing won't be our concern.

National Title Contenders
aznatari 3 years ago
Sure.
72seeker72 3 years ago
You are incorrect. Absolutely National Title Contenders. Nice showing vs USC by the way...after we crush Michigan, we'll come into the horseshoe with so much momentum you will not be able to stop us. We are going all the way this year! GO STATE! BEAT THE FUCKEYES!!!
phillysportz3 3 years ago
Defensively, I agree. Royster will be stopped and Clark will not look so good as a result. I'm worried that we can even manage 20 points against PSU's defense with Pryor's COMPLETE lack of throwing ability.

UM is not very hostile at the moment. PSU would be far more hostile if their team matched the fans heart and intensity though

GettysburgGhost1863 3 years ago
Penn State practically steamrolled over Ohio State in this game, it wasn't as close as the 17-10 score indicated. If a few things had gone a little differently, it could have easily been 20-10, 24-10, 17-3, 24-3, or some other drubbing. More than anything it was the defense that aboslutely drubbed the Buckeyes.

Penn State almost scored a safety, which could have made it 19-10, that'd have been great.
MVillani1985 4 years ago
