It took me a little bit to hear what was going on, but I got it. The keyboardist rushes slightly and ends up an eithth note ahead of Jojo. My guess is the keyboardist either couldnt hear the drums or was not paying attention to Jojo's time, and got ahead. Found at apx 5: 45. Thumbs up if you hear it!
@gulfwind94 yeah he totally speeds up and jumps ahead by an 8th note and screws up for the next 25 seconds and does not come back in on beat 1 haha, jojo looks agitated hahaha. Jojo starts playing his fill at 5:40 with accents on every quarter note for 1 bar, but then switches it up so the accents are every quarter note triplet and i think the keys got lost.
@man1of1steel at about 6 mins after Jojos solo the keyboardist shifts where the melody starts, which may be on purpose but it might have been a mistake!! Jojo does a lot of polyrhythm
Look when you're laying a vamp for someone to solo over you gotta keep it going even if the soloist seems to be off, if you do that at some point the soloist will come back in time. The keyboardist shouldnt have stopped.
At 5:55 Jojo gives a very clear count in, the Keyboardist was just lost, it happens, it has happened to me, and if you play music this tough, it may happen to you too.
figured it out- Jojo's hihat hits in the 5:40 area are on the upbeats. when he says 1234, hes counting the upbeats. keyboardist didn't catch it. with jojo's 1234 count on the upbeat, he can do the 8th note thing (which is ALSO on the upbeat) at 6:06.
Jojo does add an extra hit during the 6:06 eighth note thing (6:09, didnt have to hit his picante hand crash) which couldve thrown off the flow a bit. kinda confusing but read

BUT I would love to hear a bit more creative bass work and moreover this tune's been played for so many years now.. I m curious to listen theis latest work..
This is why I love live shows. It truly shows how great a musician or a band is if they mess up and can get back on track without making a big scene of it or really screw up.
Nah Jojo wasn't off. Listen to the sixteenth that gets dropped at 5:20. He definitely stops playing for a second then comes back in too soon with the next measure.
I think that Jojo starting playing the snare as the down-beat instead of the up-beat and it threw the keyboardist off. Would've sounded fine if the keyboardist kept going, but he stopped to "correct" the timing.

why is everyone hatin on the keyboardist and the bass player the bass player is up there jammin and the keyboardist was on beat the whole time jojo came in off and it was hard to find his one. besides its the drummers job to show where the down beat is, its jojos fault..... hes still a beast though

damn the keyboardist fucks up at 5:45 or so...i can imagine its hard to keep it together sometimes during jojo's solo though...one simple distraction and yer done. bassist comes in at the right spot in the drop and then he picks it back up. what a dope formula, simple (besides the drums) and effective
