  • Mitchell for Prime Minister

  • jimmy carr = super mario lol

  • I've heard all kinds about UKIP and not being english its only a line or two at a time about how they are rasist etc. What he said makes sence. But due to a combination of democracy levels and there is that emotional element David was talking about. As I will never vote for him I don't need a massive list about why he is so bad but anyone have any actual details?

  • The people booing were right, but only partially Farage deserves a lot more, booing him off is more like a compliment. Nobody had a shoe, custard cake or something?!

  • OOOOOHHHH DEAR BERLUSCONI.

  • I don't know about Switzerland, but Norway still gets plenty of laws from the EU pushed on them via EFTA.

  • I haven't really heard of Farage either, but I think he is pretty funny in an incredibly posh way.

  • thanks for these uploads sn0otchie! i don't live in the uk anymore, so good deeds like these are gold :) and these are particularly good ones!! great team there. so, thanks again!! :))) til they come out (if ever) on dvd, "à demain! - no, you da man!" ;)

  • switzerland is in the EU i believe... joined in 2002.

  • @LlamasOnAcid oops my bad, its the UN im thinking about

  • @LlamasOnAcid Nope, Switzerland is in the european trading zone but not the EU.

  • "Independent Party"... bit of an oxymoron. Also, I'd really like to see Britain try and reclaim the Commonwealth. Love that Farange believes that the way to solve his countrys many problems is go back to an Imperialist way of thinking and conducting 'business'.

  • It's a pity David lets Farage get away with so many untruths. The list is too long, but just a few of them:

The actual research shows the percentage of laws made by the EU to be between 15-20%, definitely nowhere near 75%.

The 'votes for prisoners' issue came from the European Court of Human Rights, which, despite having the word 'european' in its name, is NOT an EU institution.

It is precisely the eurosceptics who are opposed to (and have successfully blocked) more democracy in the EU.

  • Two words about Nigel Farage (on very good authority): Pepper grinder

  • @theresuga Sorry, what does pepper grinder mean?

  • Isn't Europe the largest trading blocs in the world, Combine all of the common wealth countries and you still will not get that GDP. I want to see what happens to the UK economy if it decides to move away from the EU my guess it is not good. This guy is insane.

  • Nigel Farage is not above devolving debate into attacks on character: watch?v=bypLwI5AQvY For the sake of david mitchell and the show I wish they hadn't booed, but by golly he deserved it.

  • Farage sounds impressive with the stats he spews out but they're often completely wrong. Eg., Britain is not the most overcrowded country in Europe.

  • @ammypam Depends on how you measure it. If you measure total population divided by total area its not the most crowded. But if you talk about the average square area of a person's home and land then it is the most crowded. There's large areas of countryside that dilute the average but don't accurately reflect how the typical person lives. Not that this makes Farage a sensible person but there are more than one way to calculate an average and some are less meaningful than others.

  • LOL, great Berlusconi Jokes, I'm Italian and I couldn't stop laughing...i hate him

  • I hate it when the audience gets all high-and-mighty and boos like that. I'm American so I don't even know who this Nigel Farage guy is, but I think that's just a crappy way to act. He's obviously been invited on the show, so just sit in your free seat and shut up!

  • @bookworm3583

You advocate complacency from an audience with a fuckwit like Nigel Farage? Let them boo him if they so wish; must they pay for their seats to voice an opinion?

  • @gloomyoutlook "voice an opinion?"

Here' my opinion: Nobody should have to be subjected to any opinion that can be adequately expressed simply as a panto-noise.

  • @LGD3

Because booing politicians has absolutely no history of its own, right? This is the most basic form of democracy, it's how it all started. Booing and applauding politicians - they've been doing it since Sparta.

  • @LGD3

Agreed. The best way to lend a certain amount of gravitas to the voicing of an opinion is, after all, by throwing enormously heavy objects. Aimed at his head.

  • @bookworm3583 I'm an American too, but this guy is a little bit our there - more so than he comes off in this interview. Do a youtube search for his name.

  • @bookworm3583 Farage is a racist, extreme right-wing, nutjob who wants all immigrants, or those who look like immigrants, hunted by the police and deported. He wants to turn the UK into much like your state of Arizona. So here, now you know. Booing him is the least you can do. Also, I believe the whole point of the EU, or it should be, is to create a common prosperity zone by way of free movement of capital and labor. If you cut out the labor part then only the rich countries benefit.

  • @MrEmile24 not to get into a huge debate or anything, but f*** off. We don't pretend to understand half the stuff that goes on in the UK so don't pretend like you understand what's going on here. The law you're referencing, which I believe hasn't passed yet, doesn't target immigrants, it targets illegal immigrants. You know what would happen if I tried to get on a plane without a passport? I'd get my a** torn apart and sent home.

Also, I never recall America having a Mosley or a Griffin...

  • @basscl1 While I agree with the general sentiment of your opinion, that last line is just incorrect.

If you aren't familiar with people like Jesse Helms and David Duke, they were just as bad, if not worse. Plus Helms was in a fairly high govt office for ages, something Mosley and Griffin haven't done (and hopefully never will). My knowledge of UK politics is spotty, but I'm not sure if any elected bigot since Enoch Powell has had influence like that in the UK.

    Much respect...

  • @troumer point taken. I should have probably researched that a bit before my passions got the best of me. Ultimately it's not for me to decide whether Farage is good for the UK or not, or for the UK decide whether Arizona is in the right, but I will say that Farage has balls.

  • @bookworm3583 Look on youtube for Nigel Farage and van Rompuy.

  • @bookworm3583 Before you rush to the defense of Nigel Farage on the grounds of proper etiquette and politeness, you might perhaps want to look up the video of him addressing Herman van Rompuy, the head of the EU. It's astonishingly rude. He's a pretty unpleasant man.

  • @bookworm3583 You are an American, yet hate free expression of opinion. Perhaps North Korea would suit your views a lot more, ever thought about moving?

  • @wladwlad The point I was trying to make is that I DO respect freedom of expression--for everyone, even people with unsavory opinions. Everyone has the right to have their views heard, especially when they've been invited on a show for the express purpose of voicing those beliefs. The audience members who were booing weren't expressing an opinion, they were trying to STOP someone else. If you're on their side, I think, based on your logic, you've got a plane ticket to Pyongyang to book. :)

  • @bookworm3583 Of course I don't, because obviously booing is not an attempt to prevent someone from expressing their opinion, it is rather a mere expression of disagreement with said opinion. You on the other hand wrote that the audience should *shut up* and enjoy the free tickets. In other words - you would like to STOP them from expressing their disagreement. Better go book one.

  • @bookworm3583 If Hitler strolled onto stage and people booed do you think that would be acceptable? If so, maybe the fact that you don't know who Nigel farage is means you can't really suggest weather or not people should boo. To many people in britain UKIP is very much like the BMP which is, in many people's opinion not a kick in the arse away from being much like the KKK

  • @bookworm3583

Pisses me off, specially when the guy is an eloquent person like that who can properly argue his position. You don't have to agree with the guy, but let him fucking talk.

  • @ziggywalrus

Damn dude, sounds like what Sarah Palin does to me, lol.
