Yes---socially and environmentally irresponsible and inconsiderate.
No respect for the planet--no ecological concern (even with "clean-ups" afterward). Drinking and irresponsible behavior (alcohol, other drugs, injuries--not a wise decision). Very immature. Grow up and think before you act, you "young adults who just want to have fun".
Where is a good Tsunami when you need one. I don't see the part where people were slicing their feet on beer bottles and being hauled off to the emergency room because some drunk fools were chucking beer bottles off the cliffs. I also don' t see the part where all of the trash was washed out to sea by the high tide. I don't see the bacteria count added to the ocean. I don't see the bill for $50,000 in services the locals had to pay for STAY OUT OF OUR COMMUNITY IDIOTS
@douglasnice Perhaps because these parts were not posted on YouTube. However, since Floatopia 2009 did, in fact, happen, at least the participants (most of them) will remember the fun they had.

So were the "injuries from broken beer bottles/cans", irresponsible behavior, bacteria from human waste, arrests made from others under the influence in public at the street, the ecological impact, the cost to the taxpayers for medical support and transportation to the emergency room, the stupidity of drunken behavior while "chilling out and floating and boating". These, too, were mentioned in the "media". Let's not forget that!
