The U.N. has no interest in being a world government whatsoever, unless by "government" you mean a place where ambassadors sit around and talk and try to work out conflicts that arise between different heads of state.
It's a debating society.
Ambassadors read long statements . . .
and then everybody goes home.

I also get the feeling that some right-wingers have no understanding of the United Nations.
It's mission is to try to prevent war and famine.
I didn't think anyone would ever object to an agenda like that.
The U.N. is not an "organization" in the traditional sense. It's just made up of diplomats sent by the government of each country and it spends most of its time setting goals and condemning things that are bad. It's not very effective because it's pretty weak, which is good.

Victor Navasky who came up with the idea for the book and Leonard Lewin who wrote it are both very much ANTI-war. The book is pro-war. They admitted forty years ago that the book was satire. Though anyone with any sense would have been able to tell that it was satire just by reading it.
Get it?
No one in their right mind is pro-war, if it can possibly be avoided. The book was meant as a parody of those few deranged people who are.

less fucking consumption, and more abotions is what we need. all positivity comes from negativity, and negativity from positivity. corpses become fertilizer for the living. cutting down trees builds homes. killing children, means less consumption of our natural resources, antibiotics force viruses to evolve at a faster rate, etc. your philosophy of life is ill informed, and impotent.

The report declares that "war" is indespensable in retaining legitamacy of "right to rule over the people." It discusses what could be substituted for war to legitimize further government control over the people. The environmental-pollution model was the solution. This would be the tool used to disguise 'government taking away the rights of the people without them knowing it.' GLOBAL WARMING!

maybe thats true, but christianity WAS set up by these guys...do not for one minute believe that there is a god or a christ who will redeem you; the only messiah that will be coming will be the one the NWO will put forth. Single-god religions are there to get us used to the idea of male dominance. Reguardless,my friend donkeytrouser,you are absolutely correct, although I believe we will get a slight jump on uor southern neighbours. I had a dream last week; I was invisible and I walked into the White House, leaving a list of demands on the president's desk. If the demands were not met, I would kill every corrupt person in world politics, starting at the Bush admin., to the Council on Foreign Relations, the Clintons, etc. right down to the Rockefellers. It's a shame my dream is all fantasy.
