I was gonna say that the torso is the real person and that he suffers from Sacral Agenesis which means you only have half a body. The legs are electronic.

But when I watched the end and find out the whole body is real it confuses me.

If you've seen examples of "Extreme yoga" or "extreme flexibility" this isn't achieved so hard. As for the pants that remain, they just have a pneumatic rod that can lift a left or right leg at the flick of a switch.
