Anyone knows the real reason why they don't use "Parasite Eve 3" as the title for the next game? I always thought it's because Eve will not feature in the third outing, unlike the original (Melissa-Eve and Maya-Eve) and in the sequel (friendly Eve 2).

@Weils From what I read, it's not supposed to be a direct sequel [Though if this is true, it deserved to be, and on something a tad more powerful.]. I'm not fully sure, but like most people, I'm calling it Parasite Eve 3.

It's because it's been so long since there was a sequel, nobody knows how well a sequel will sell now. I also beleive the people producing may not have the rights to the title "Parasite Eve", but this is just speculation on my part.

It's not really PE3 officially, it's just a spinoff. I think it's quite understandable that they make it for PSP since the series has been away for so long and they don't know if a sequel would sell well as a major PS3 title anymore. But hey, if 3rd Birthday does well and strikes enough interest, who knows, maybe they will make a PE3 for PS3 some day.

Square Enix own the rights to the character Aya Brea. They don't own Parasite Eve. It isn't PE3.

Probably not going to happen, but I hope 3rd Birthday (Parasite Eve 3) has the same system from the first game. There was no point to changing such a unique mix of Action RPG/Survival Horror.

It's a mixture of RPG and action horror. I've always loved the special style in which Parasite Eves combine these two genres. And the music gives them a very unique atmosphere.
