I'm sorry but that was nasty!!LOL. Although I am a muscians and I know an instrument will not play at 100 percent in the conditons DSU was in. However, this didn't not seem to phase other bands such as Hampton, US|APB, and FAMU.

We did our very best, and I could not ask for any better, given the situation and the prediciment we were placed in. Ask anybody who was marching in it. We could of done the job way better, but at that point in time we were in agony. Please don't pass judgement on us. We did the best that we could of possibly done.

Point taken. I was playing for my high school in the same weather conditions, and suffered terribly. I was in better shape for the task ahead, but some of the others with us were not conditioned to play like this. We were at the Inaguration, and we represented. Sen. Kennedy fainted that day. We were supposed to be out there for about 40 minutes. We were out there from 12:50pm at attention till about 9:00pm hitting busses, because of him. By the time we resumed marching, we were stone statues.

Hey I understand that but I played for Cedar Hill H.S last and we had half of our games in the snow then turn around and play in the hot heat and we were able to produce exceptional sound in any situation...its all about training sctions on what to do...no excuses this just wasnt a good performance.

Cold weather has nothing to do with the starting and stopping of notes...whats your excuse fo that? everybody had on gloves and everything the whole 9..no excuse...the band pitch could have possibly suffered for the conditions but this just wasnt one of the bands best performances and thats coming from an musician/composer.

For your info, I had no gloves, nor a cover for my head. You don't know what we had to go through. Almost two thirds of our band was missing head and hand gear, and god knows what else, because the military lost all of our stuff during checkout screening. And we were not allowed to stop and return to get what we lost under any circumstance. The exceptions to the stuff that we did not lose were instruments. Cold weather can do a lot to an instrumentalist, standing out there all day long...

I'd like to see these haters play their hearts out after standing all day out in the cold because a public official fainted. I was there that day, marching in that band holding a freezing horn, with a slide getting stuck because of the cold temperature, with guys all around me with white, green, and purple fingers, hunched over because of sheer exaustion. None of that was easy, nor was it fun to endure. People in other bands were going to the hospital because of symptoms of exposure.

Cold is no excuse....I marched in the parade....Howard was right behind us and they were blowing, balanced, and beautiful. Annnnd we were out in the cold longer because we came much after Del State. They just sucked. Arse. People hanging over and stuff....no discipline!

Good Job DSU! The drum major's hood waw too big for his Sako(hat)It looked like it was leaning or falling.FAMU's DM's dont bounce, they have more control of their upper body. It's hard to get a good sound in the freezing cold, so haters give these guys a break. They did their school proud. If your band didn't get invited, STHU!!! Yeah! My school was there!!
