I found this while searching for "Moog Voyager" videos but I'm blown away by the Novation keyboard sounds! I tried looking for more info on that particular keyboard but couldn't find much (found lots on a Supernova II). How old is it and is it expensive? Thnx!
A Song to Sing When I'm Lonely - its very funny how these two become one =)
music is connectin people.... but yet each one of the songs are played in the same mode without the cadential dominant akkord, so there are no disturbing notes in it. after all you played approximately in the same tempo and its seems to perfectly fit.
what did i just say? it perfectly fits! nice sound, well played and a compliment to seanrhenderson =)
Quite gnarly in a Rick Wright manner of speaking. One specific criticism, though. The pitch bend at 1:50-1:57 should have been as follows:
Start to the bottom of the pitch bend-same. Bottom of pitch bend back to center-about 5 seconds longer with most of the distance travelled in the last 2 seconds. I was dying for that delayed gratification, but then you just sort of hopped back to center at about 1:57.
@kerkenat Exactly. But he is a good player. It's the tone that gets me....not as warm and human as the model D. It just makes me sad. Why did they do that to us? MOOG...please start over!
This tranquil, improvisational sort of playing just to relax and enjoy it, is often my favorite. I like the first sync sound and the final square patch the best. And of course, the Voyager is always an inspiration. Sounds great!
Very moving, beautifully played and one of the best Moog videos, being lovely music rather than just noises. (You should send this to moogmusic, they might put you on their website!) If you had a CD, I'd buy one.
sounds like a mix of vangelis (blade runner soundtrac) and shine on/richard wright overall! fantastic, i wish i had those synths and could make it sound like that....
totally agree. as a big fan of Pink Floyd and 70's and 80's sci-fi films this sound is perfect. I think John Carpenter used Moogs in his film soundtracks.
the one he is using looks like a vintage one (I could be mistaken). Vintage minimoogs are usually from the 70s and extremely expensive. Moog has a newer version called the minimoog voyager.
I've grown up with Pro-Ones and MonoPoly's as my staple analog diet.....so for me....I'll be very keen to see how the OS compares in terms of warmth, fatness, presence etc etc. Maybe some of you here would be interested to hear my thoughts once I've done a carefull comparison between some old classics and the Voyager? From what I've heard so far....the OS will surpass these synths by some margin.
Check out Roger O'Donells Myspace page. He uses the Voyager exclusively...and it sounds AMAZING
I think they must sound pretty much the same. Even with the standard voyager it is fully analog with digital control. The digital aspect of the voyager does not interfere with the signal path. I think the Old School must benefit from the lack of digital control in terms of being super silky smooth. I've just bought an OS and waiting for delivery (its taking 4everrrrr!!)....so perhaps I might be able to comment on more detail in the coming months....
