Your country has been spending the most on health care for decades. Canada, on the other hand spends 10%; UK 9%, Australia 9%, Denmark 10%, Japan 8% etc etc.

I do think health care is right. And so do all other developed nations. The individualist ideology is poisoning your country and the US is falling behind in every area globally. The EU is already ahead of you in IT, quality of life and competitiveness. China and India are growing at enormous rates and will exceed you in a decade or less. Meanwhile, health care, education, banking and manufacturing are all experiencing massive failures in the US.

@knoss: Yes, Sask and Canadian health care may be a shambles since many govts have taken out money from it since 80s. They gut the system then turn around and say: see how bad it is? Let;s go private! Despite this, figures show better health outcomes on average for Canadian pop compared to US (e.g., longevity, infant mortality)

Also: uninsured or poor get far inferior and tardy treatment and those who do get treated cost the system a huge amount more because they wait too long.

Under Obamas plan those people are sriminals. the 80% is a much more representative figure, there are many communisty programs including Medicaid, community clinics and free care thoguh emergency rooms to help the working poor, there are also doctors who catter to the working poor by providing cheap care. Most people whe do not have health insurance can negotiate cheap care.
