  • In the end her daddy is the only man a woman can really count on.

  • @zamusicza I beg to differ.... big time. There are too many careless daddys out there...

  • Dolly Parton is one of the greatest people that America ever produced that I can think of.

  • fuck off her look, Vote 4 her voice. one of the best ever

  • my mother saw her once year's ago. and she said that dolly was the sweetest person she had ever knew, said she never acted like she was better than anyone else. she was just a simple person who thanked god for what she has and that she hoped her song's help people realize just how awsome life can be..you don't have to be rich or poor to show god that your thankful each and every time you saw another day..now i call that one awsome person. may god keep her safe. and thank you dolly for being you.

  • @prescomp Real hair dude. :)

  • My Grand Daddy McDaniel loved her sooo much!

  • I am a long time Dollyphile - but you know this song's first line is a riot. She had some guts!

  • Kocham Cię Dolly Parton PIĘKNIE

  • And no one knows WTF they are looking at! >:( This really angers me...

  • @EsotericKitten So true!

  • The look comes from a stage hand & the cast. Dolly would be rushing here and there as someone else and would be caught and asked if she would fill in on stage for a no show. There it would be...the most awful wig and the worse dress ever. Did the same for Crystal Gale and Tammy Wynette. Was it rumoured that the cameraman & his wife was hoping for a job as THE NEW Dolly Parton, THE NEW Crystal and THE NEW Tammy? Thus Dolly, composed a NEW song, "Don't Get Caught with Your Hand in the Cookie Jar"

  • She is some kind of magical human wonder.

  • This song used to make me cry....correctin, makes me cry

I don't even know why it does

  • Whoa. Weeeeird song. She makes it work, though.

  • love it!!

  • This one is just plain weird.

  • @sptfgpn While it might have been a little out of place on Porter's show, Dolly was singing about something very real for women, at that time. It was very easy for a man to commit his wife to a mental institution mainly due to the ignorance of the medical establishment in addressing women's mental and physical health. This song and "Down from Dover" were way ahead of their time in addressing "women's issues." Something Dolly doesn't get a lot of credit for, nowadays.

  • @markcosborne The, "medical establishment", doesn't get much credit nowadays either.

  • @markcosborne Yup.

  • Damn, just watch the video ! Dolly was gorgeous and sang great and to those making stupid comments about the lady....let's see what you turn out like in your 60's. I bet some ignorant youngsters will be crackin' up over you also.

  • wow!its been over 35 years since i've heard this...

  • Oh this is so sad. My brother went to a Mental hospital. ):

I just found it, And now my eyes are all wet.

    WARNING

Before listening to this song buy waterproof mascara. :P

  • This is an extremely sad song. Dolly Parton was certainly writing, and performing, outside of the proverbial box, in the early 1970s.

  • This is my favorite dolly song ever thanks for posting

  • ...Dolly ..this is such a sad story....!

  • omg , she was pretty then, and she is pretty now !!! all you people that is commenting on her look now, i would hope you look liek her when your in you're 60s !

Love Dolly, Great voice, Sweet lady, funny, just world class.

Thanks so much for posting this :D lOVED IT SO MUCH !

    Crazy4Dolly x

  • to the people talking about her looks...um who doesnt look better in their early twenties then in their sixties? who cares how she looks?...she is a treasure...and she is one of the most talented people in the world. Her songwritng is fearless and always has been. WHen Dolly Parton Passes I will be deeply sad and weepy.

  • @ChastityLowell Not everyone looks good in their early 20s. Its too young. Most really beautiful woman peak some time in their 40s. I think Dolly looked best around that age.

  • @ChastityLowell it's a shame ppl listen with their EYES. Beyond great songwriting Dolly's a generous, funny and cool chick, kind of a lost breed in popular music leaders.

  • @ChastityLowell i know it sounds completely pathetic but i think i will have a breakdown when that happens, ahh, im welling up thinking about it. and dont worry i know how stupi that sounds, but what can i say!!

  • @ChastityLowell

    i totally agree

  • @ChastityLowell I hope she will never passes no one can write like her she has told all of our stories with her music if you can truly tell me that you have not listen to at least one of her and think boy that sounds like me or my life or someone you i would never listen to another of her her. I am being this extreme because she has at least 5 songs I can think of right now that tell story about either her life or in such a way that it fits other's life

  • im 17 and i fell in love with dolly when i heard her song in a cd store. <33

  • Well I am 49 and have just discovered these old clips of Dolly and I will never be the same again. She is so beautiful. I had no idea, coming from a rock & roll backround what a great songwriter she is.And that voice....I have fallen in love.Dolly....I will always love you.

  • I'm 39 years old and fell in love with Dolly when I watched her variety show back in the 70's and saw her lowered down on that rope swing. The only thing bad I have to say is that wig she is wearing looks almost gray not blonde

  • There was a sweet, honest, pure beauty to Dolly's features before she had all the plastic surgery. She is still pretty in a way, but she was much prettier before.

    She has remained sweet though.

  • She was prettier then because she was 40 years younger!!! I think she still looks great, but she can`t stay looking 20 forever even with plastic surgery without the plastic surgery though she`d probably look like the old woman that she is. I`d think she was beautiful without plastic surgery but showbiz is a harsh biz to women. Ppl like their female stars to look like stars so I guess she feels like she has to get the surgery. It`s the nature of the biz.

  • Wig or not, she looks better with her hair down, not up in the Beehive style of that era.

  • Dolly sings just great!

  • love love love this song it's the best Dolly song ever. Thank you for posting this

  • This is one of my favorite Dolly songs, thanks for sharing this wonderful video.

  • Love this song - - so much realism to so many of her songs. Thanks for posting it.

  • she should have left her cans alone, they look perfect at this point in time.

  • it's

not my mind that's broken, it's my heart <3

  • Love Dolly and Love this song... but what's with her hair. It looks all gray, kinda makes her look old.

  • Porter + Dolly = Genius

  • I love this woman, an amazing voice and incredible lyrics!

  • i love most every thing she sings. but i liked her younger years better.. her voice sounds to swril any more. seems like she yells to loud.ss08

  • This is my favorite song of ever...

Was nice to have found it on here.

    Dolly Rocks!!!!

  • beautifull song!!!!

  • so beautiful.

  • God what a sad song!!!

Ripped my heart out to hear Dolly this sad!

But still I loved the song <3

  • This is my very favourite Dolly song right now.

  • I love this song!
