@sptfgpn While it might have been a little out of place on Porter's show, Dolly was singing about something very real for women, at that time. It was very easy for a man to commit his wife to a mental institution mainly due to the ignorance of the medical establishment in addressing women's mental and physical health. This song and "Down from Dover" were way ahead of their time in addressing "women's issues." Something Dolly doesn't get a lot of credit for, nowadays.
