  • why doesnt it sting you i dont get it, dont they usually sting if touched, arent they aggressive

  • i think the 1 they sold me at petco was one of these cuz i measured him when he died and he was 8 and a half inches and my friends is like 7 inches

  • The bigger ones are usually not that venomous. Since they generally crush their prey. Its the smaller ones that dont have bigger pincers that rely more on their venom, to incapacitate their prey. The deathstalker been a prime expample, since its a smaller size scorpion with weaker pincers, it relies more heavily on its venom, only usually using their pincers to initially grab its prey. The fat-tail venom is less potent than the Deathstalker, but it can deliver more of it for example.

  • neat.

  • She's a beauty.

  • The bigger they are, the less dangerous they are. This thing is practically a kitty cat. Now, if one's the size of your fingernail... Stay the fuck away from that shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @OverlordLS Eh not really.. The smaller the stinger the more venomous it is

  • Its the bracelet from the mummy

  • how much does a Heterometrus longimanus cost ? and is it cheaper than a emperor scorpion ?

I wanted to get a centipede but i'm a first timer when it comes to insects/arachnids so i'd get a scorp first for an experience :)

    please help

  • @eddy536 You can get one for $15-20. It's probably a little more expensive than an emperor.

  • @MasamuneX9 woah i thought emperors are more expensive... cause i live in hong kong

    but thanks tho !

  • but will it BLEND?

  • has it ever stung you and if so was it sore

  • @psychopaulllll Never been stung.

  • @MasamuneX9 Are you ever nervous? I'd be really scared lol

  • Comment removed

  • Damn, it's BIG!

  • when you own a scorpian do you get what they call anti venom for that species

  • @kylemyster100 No. Anti-venom has only been made for certain medically significant species and is very expensive. Look at spending close to $2000 a vial.

  • @pudgeypigeon Oh, derp. I knew the difference but I *always* say insect by accident DX

  • ok I have a question which I used 2 know but I forgot. If your illergic 2 one type of scorpion does dat mean your illergic 2 all scorpions?

  • @TheVinegaroon If you are allergic, that means you react to a component found in scorpion venom, because the venom is a cocktail of different toxins rather than a single one. If that component is found in another species' venom, then you're going to show the same reaction. So in short, you are not allergic to all scorpions.

  • @MasamuneX9 got it thanks!Im pretty sure Im not illergic but I was just wondering.

  • I love love love love scorpions. They're among my favorite insects, and I wish I wasn't morbidly afraid to handle them. Contradictory, I know. But you're so lucky to be able to handle them like that.

  • @KatouThePsychoKitty *arachnids* not insects

  • lol ur brave, scorpions are awsome critters but i could not handle that

  • @MasamuneX9 if he bites u with his nail ur dead

  • smaller the scorpion the wores the sting

  • How long does it take to be able to handle one of these gorgeous creatures ?

  • @ForAllThoseWhoCare You can do it immediately if you're careful. They pinch hard, but their sting is quite mild.

  • wow t.r.b

  • HE'S GONNA DIE D:

  • o_o

  • O.M.G!

  • WOW you are a very brave person, congrats

  • ok I have one of these and it is a Giant Forest Scorpian. If you cant tell the difference you shouldnt even be posting let alone keeping them. Thumbs up for handling even I wont do that lol

  • how do you its a she?

  • Jesus titty-fucking... That's like a lobster with a poisonous stinger. How long is it man?

  • You are funny >.<

  • im getting one but i dont think i would handle him or her just watch it : )

  • idcare if that was the friendlyest inscect in the world i wouldn't let it crawl on me like i was a chair.

  • Theres no amount of money in the world for me to handle that beast

  • That's a beautiful scorpion. It's not like those small American desert ones with the "spindly" limbs and weak-looking claws. This thing looks like it could tear a man in two, were it large enough.

The bodybuilder of scorpions, if you will.

  • @DavidEasthope Beautiful, lol my friend how could you say that is beautiful?

  • awwwww, it's sooo cute. <3 <3 <3 <3 now kill it please?

  • @LWRCftw HAHA thats what i'm saying lol

  • why the fuck is everything in india so damn large

  • squish it

  • this scorpion is not a giant indian forest is a emperor scorpion the indian scorpion have a brown color

  • @retrobull50 It is brown.

  • @MasamuneX9 brown my ass

  • @MasamuneX9 question: who would win between a scorpion like this and 1) a 25 cm long centipede 2) goliath bird eating spider 3) smartest and largest jumping spider known 4) solifugae 5) mantis 6) jap giant hornet 7) goliath/stag/rhino beetle 8) a crab of the same size with large pincers 9) some other crazy powerful and/or menacing insect?

  • @retrobull50 The pedipalps disagree with you.

  • That is one very chill scorpion. .__.

  • Holy shit that makes me cringe

  • This is obviously a Swammerdami.

  • Well I can't make and accurate assumption based on your poor camera quality (no offense). It looks Pandinus but, the claws seem to tell a different story.

  • @ALopezProduction Yes they do. I have a trio of these now, and they look much more like swammerdami in person.

  • @MasamuneX9 I'm sure they do

  • I keep Scorpions and this doesn't look like H. Swammerdami. Just my opinion though.

  • @ALopezProduction What does look like H. swammerdami to you then?

  • @ALopezProduction well if it is an emperor, its the biggest one I have ever seen, also the biggest pedipalps I have ever seen.Color by the way,is not a hard fast rule in identification of scorpions as some of the very same species can have color variations due to a lot of reasons but locality is one of them. This is still a very impressive scorpion

  • AAAAAHHHH!!!... RadScorpion

  • @WAXBOY5004 Don't worry, this little guy will only give you +1 Rad

  • @MasamuneX9 ahahhaha nice dude

  • OMG. Are you crazy @ MasamuneX9

You're holding a Scorpion.. Are you aware.. LOL

  • its not the largest

  • @Sscarloc Google 'swammerdami guiness'

  • @MasamuneX9 i know that, but is that the particular scorpion, or just the species

  • @Sscarloc I have more than one, and they are all larger than any emperor I've ever seen. Although I don't believe the average size to be too different between H. swammerdami and P. imperator, this is bigger in my experience.

  • Is it larger than the Emperor Scorpion?

  • Are you trying to get stung, retard? You dont move your hand like that when handling a scorpion itll get freaked out and either pinch or sting. Do you not see it arching its stinger ? One day youll learn.

  • You got balls dude I'll give you that, they creep me the fuck out, not sure why though i have a pet spider and he's pretty big but scorpions..... fuck that.

  • 5 people got stung while attempting this ^_^

  • Holy shit! i thought emperors were the shit. This one's the baddest!

  • 0:19 ... a fuck off sting there!

  • do you need a wheelbarrow to carry your balls around?

  • FUCK THAT SHIT

  • nice, the biggest iv seen in stores here are the emperors, i have 3 and the biggest i have of them is a female about the size of Droid X phone.

  • I had two pet Scorps and i'd never dare touch either of em!... there was one time i was tapping the emperor with a pencil, and it grabbed onto it... and started climbing up the pencil using it's pincers!! It slept in a metal tin, it was really freaky at night, in bed, you could hear it clicking on the side of the can really loud.

  • does it sting

  • you're so creepy. You'll never get laid

  • @cropsey7 lol

  • @cropsey7 I can't believe this asshole got 7 thumbs up

  • @astroblaster56 perhaps because i say what's apparent and obvious. Ass blaster

  • @cropsey7 oh plz your fucking nerd yourself do yourself a favor and off yourself fucking geek

  • @cropsey7 oh plz your fucking nerd yourself do yourself a favor and off yourself fucking geek you fucking MIT dork

  • @astroblaster56 I think cropsey7 is a virgin. What's the consensus?

  • @MasamuneX9 people who talk about sex over the internet are almost always desperate virgins. so yes, you would be correct. not only has he never had sex, he desperately wishes he could and will probably resort to rape.

  • @MasamuneX9 I'm male I can't be a virgin stay in school

  • @astroblaster56 you're just jealous ass blaster

  • @astroblaster56 who keeps bugs as pets? Women don't go for that. For that matter neither do i

  • @cropsey7 Grow the fuck up or stop commenting on Youtube. You're in MIT ffs... act the part. This is what the architects and engineers who pave the way for our future act like? Seriously immature and it's plain as fucking day that YOU don't get laid with the history of comments I see on your profile. Your insecurities shine through, man. No self-respecting 'ladies' man' feels the need to flaunt their dick all over the internet.

  • @cropsey7 no hes brave i wouldnt touch a danm scorpion and i do some crazy shit

  • I have the utmost respect for you.

  • I dare you do stick your penis on it

  • @ragingbull888 I wouldn't be able to post it on Youtube then.

  • @MasamuneX9 thats why redtube exists

  • Comment removed

  • You have balls man no way in hell I would think about tuching it

  • what the fuck is that? why isnt it killing you already? what does it taste like?

  • HUGE

  • How the fuck do you do that?

  • No problem :)

  • go head an get bit white boy yall always doin things 2 harm your selves

  • @allnaturalize I'm Asian bro, not white.

  • @MasamuneX9 so... you're yellow? :P

  • @MasamuneX9 asian as in oblic-eyed, or asian as in indian and hence brown? usually Asian to me reffers to the former, but given that this is a discussion about skin color....

  • How do you do that? That is amazing!! :D If I saw a scorpion on me like that well I dunno what I would do haha, but I'll give you props on this, and you said that even the slightest vibration in the air makes them go insane, does this apply to all scorpions? I noticed how still the emperor scorpion was staying.

  • @mabenk No only when they are stressed aggetated or just quite aggresive that should not give you a bad opinion on these amazing creatures

  • @metalkicks4382 Ah ok, I meant no offense, I am really new at handling scorpions, I don't own a scorpion but this was a fascinating video either way, and thank you for informing me about this :)

  • cats are for pussies

  • Scorpions attack only if they are being taunted right?

  • @r34p3r1992 Sometimes the slightest little vibration in the air makes them go insane. I've got a Parabuthus villosus that goes into a sting frenzy jabbing at the air for minutes even when I'm doing maintenance on nearby cages.

  • I'm hella disappointed on that scorpion.

Waiting for it to sting that guy's hand!XD

  • I love it!! :D

  • did you get the poison removed?

  • @MegaAnimality No, that'd be cruel.

  • @MasamuneX9 write on man,people don`t torture the animals.

  • @MegaAnimality

Seriously ? Only a pussy would do that. If somebody is that afraid about getting stung, you don't have any business keeping inverts and should stick to fluffy little rabbits.

  • that is an emperor scorpion dumbass

  • @teamdna456 lol scorp noob.

  • Comment removed

  • @MasamuneX9 ur a dumbass The asian forest scorpion has a black telson (stinger) where as the emperor has an amber telson. The emperor has larger chelea (claws) proportional to its body

  • @freshparadise941 Oh look... you even gave me a lesson in terminology! I'll DEFINITELY sleep better at night knowing what a "telson" and "chela" are now! While you're at it, I have a question that you could undoubtedly answer for me with your unquestionable expertise in scorpion taxonomy. How do I tell the difference between Heterometrus swammerdami and the common black Heterometrus (i.e. H. spinifer/longimanus/laoticus)?

  • What a cute little football sized scorpion :D

  • this is why you should never give stereoids to arthropods

  • FUCK THAT SHIT!

  • Has it ever stung you?

  • hmmmm you real brave yoooo... not f@#$ me lol

  • Have you ever got stung? That thing is huge!

  • Wow I didn't know so many Zoologists went through videos regurgitating the Latin names for insects? Damn you fuckers need to get a life lol.

  • @rextuner03 They're arachnids, not insects

  • thats an emporer lol idian forest scorps have yellow legs

  • @66Fallout66Man66 lol cool story bro

  • For the measure, this scorpion is not black.

It is a light maroon. All it takes is a Google search for Heterometrus swammerdami. It's not difficult. Give it a try.

  • @MasamuneX9 I have been keeping emps4quite a no of years,I know1when I see1. So lets give u the facts

The main diffs between Emps and Asians:

    1)Telson(Stinger)Coloration- A: Black; Emp:Amber

    2) Chelea(claws)Size&appearance- A: Smooth,slightly elongated,very few setae; Emp:Large&bulky, granulated texture&a lot of setae

    3) Temperament - A:Does not tend to burrow&more defensive\Skitish; Emp:Burrows&quite docile

All 3 of these major differences are visible in the vid, you have an Emperor my friend

  • @MrSwifty21 I didn't see this earlier. Perhaps you still need a few more years of keeping emperors then.

    1) There are dozens of "Asian Forest Scorpion" species -- some w/ amber telsons, some w/ black. The fact that you refer to the Heterometrus genus as "Asians" means you aren't too familiar with them and try to lump them all together.

    2) You didn't notice that the chela is a completely different shape from the emperor's? Look again.

  • @MrSwifty21 3) Does not tend to burrow -- how did you arrive at this conclusion based on a handling video? You've been keeping scorps for so long yet you don't know that temperament is quite possibly the most ridiculous way of classifying an animal? They vary from individual to individual, just as much as humans do. You've got your skittish ones... you've got your placid ones...

These aren't facts buddy. These are your observations... which are quite incorrect.

  • Ok so what if the scorpion does not want to come off your hand?

  • @sirfailalots123 You push it off.

  • wow awesome! you have balls man

  • That's gorgeous :D

  • i must be sick in the head because throughout the whole video i was going STING HIM STING HIM STING HIM

  • @TheLyokowarrior Nothing would happen if I got stung though.

  • @TheLyokowarrior i was to lol

  • @titankiller1993 I'd continue holding her anyway. It doesn't really hurt that much.

  • @MasamuneX9 what about the poison or can you milk them ?

  • @titankiller1993 I have nipples, Greg... could you milk me? ;P

  • @VictorSixer haha Maybe...

  • @VictorSixer love it

  • Looks tasty.

  • I'm scared shitlesss just by watching that! I love reserching bugs but I never ever want to see any of them in person lol

  • looks a lot like an emperor to me

  • i would laugh if he fucked you hand up and attacked you

  • does your scorpion hiss when pissed,if not it not a swammidami i got 4 swammi's 2 male 2 female, the males are huge i also got emps as well as spinifers, mysorensis, red claw and rock scorps,i think that is a big emp you got, not a swammi as the colour is also different swammi's are more dirty black but emp's more pure black like the one in the vid, awsome scorp anyways

  • im shitting my self just by watching...

  • scorpions are vicious

    so many people are dumb

    is it a hiku?

  • @MasamuneX9 from reading a few of your comments, you seem to know a lot about scorpions, i have an emperor scorpion myself, hes about 6 inches long roughly, i was wondering how big the scorpion in this video is because she looks much larger, i was also wondering between emperors and indian forest scorpion which grows larger? and where can i purchase an indian forest scorpion?

  • i would be shitting myself...

  • Comment removed

  • i would smash that shit ;D

just becuz im reading a book about a baby getting stung right now lol.

  • how is it fake stop trolling u noob it moves doesnt it

  • Its Fake !

  • The "tarantula" of scorpions. That is one huge arachnid.

  • excellent specimen. I dream of caring for one.

  • how much damage would that do if it stung you?
