Was doing pretty good in the polls.....great on economic issues. But when most of the people who are not Ron Paul "regulars" realized his views on non-economic issues, e.g. killing terrorist enemy combatants, he lost a serious amount of support. That actually is a very different action than actually writing them one's self you would agree. ? One must also consider the hard core belief in the first amendment. He always openly admits that he could legitimately be viewed as a bad publisher for not proofing everything. Nonetheless - it's good that these discussions are on the table with us citizens - we need to stay involved with our system & pay attention to what our reps are doing. @sergjIZQ A gold standard doesn't mean everything must be payed for in gold, it means money is backed by gold. You can still use dollars, still use credit, and still use checks. It just means means that the dollar amount is = to .x amount of gold. Right now our dollar is backed by nothing besides the worth of the paper it's printed on.

This means every conservative, liberal, libertarian, independent and all others who want Ron Paul to be president, should attend the Republican caucus or primary in their state to vote for him to be the niominee. Was doing pretty good in the polls.....great on economic issues. But when most of the people who are not Ron Paul "regulars" realized his views on non-economic issues, e.g. killing terrorist enemy combatants, he lost a serious amount of support. Too bad, as Republicans we need to find a way to come together on issues, to beat that sad excuse for a President who's in office right now.

One reason we don't carry gold in our pockets is it is a very soft metal. when you rub two gold coins together a little wears off. Now put gold in everyone in the US pockets, how much gold do you think will simply be lost from wear? I agree we need a representative monetary system but I don't know if gold is it. Thus money should not be controlled by the goldsmiths or the miners or the banking class. It's quantity "to regulate the value thereof" (as the Constitution says) should be controlled by accountable elected people. The Federal Reserve is not accountable, and it is not democratic or public.
