Hi, there he is cute, I have one his name is Pepito, just be patient with him, he will pick up whatever to teach him by constant repetition. They have a personality and sometimes they do not want to say anything. Mine can tell his name, mine and kiss, hello and another word I can't remember what. good luck

We got Fancy July 25 of last year. She was about 4 month old when SHE PICKED US OUT. When we found Fancy she literally picked us. She danced and just showed off until my wife decided we had to adopt her. Life hasnt been the same since. We schedule trips around HER being taken care of. If more than an afternoon we have a friend that babysits her! My wife is not a pet person,but Fancy is HER BABY! And I guess mine too.

Mine talks the same except when he says hey baby, hey babe, come here give me a kiss, hey boy and thank you. Kinda sings it and yells it and is very clear. He started biting when I got mine Jenday Conure. I think he wanted all the attention. He's calmed down some but still does it. Kids!

i got talked out of getting a gcc, because loads of people said that they go through a major biting faze and lash out aggressively quite often for no reason. i wanted one for they're cuddliness and playful nature, but i also wanted a gentle bird. do they go through this so called 'biting stage'? if so, how did you minimise the biting issue?

@XsoaproX stop listening to what people say all birds can bite and no conures are pretty gentle birds they got a lot of personatily to them the thing that sucks is that their so social and love being around people that a few times conures were stolen from the pet store i worked in ! lol if i were to get one it would be a Yellow sided conure ( Female ) but thats just me lol

@Pocketpets13 well said! im still looking into these birds, but im also looking at other birds. i want to start out smaller than a gcc, so im looking at bourkes parakeets. but this is also because i know i dont have enough time for a gcc. if i am to get a bird, it will be later and when i have researched the species for hours, knowing all i can! :P

i had a cockatiel once, but sadly couldnt keep him anymore because his call was driving everyone nuts :(

@XsoaproX bourkes are pretty good to ! my mum was gonna bring one home last summer but we ended up getting a contractor in our house and they worked on it :-( so no bourkes for us their nice.birds can aslo be tought not to be so noiosy

@MMMMMMPIRE yes they are really smart! i love their cuddliness and playfulness, but i just dont have the time at the moment.. :( im a bird nutter, and live a sad life without a bird, but i just cant keep one yet. would you say gcc are good for knowledgable beginners? (ive dealt with bitey birds, i can live with mess, but im not good with excessive noise eg: constant, ear piercing calls every minute of the day) i can stand their natural calls, because hey! we do them too :p

Mine's a talker... We call him Birdy Bird, no real official name, so he came up with "birdy bird bird bird bird." XD He can also say Cricket, Goosh (he came up with that), Squeak (more like queak), Squeaky Bird. Surprisingly, he hasn't learned "shut up" yet.

I just got my baby green cheek yesterday. We named her Bonnie. I read in the conure book that its not likely that they will talk, but she mimicks every word she hears. Its so funny. Your GC is very cute, btw.

I want to get mine to talk like this. He's got a few words in his vocabulary, but he's very shy with his voice. He hides under the couch and says "good boy, baby" back and forth with us, but he won't talk very much when we're trying to get him to.

@Squishyxo ditto. Mine died 4 years ago and I still miss him EVERY DAY. Time doesn't heal that wound. He took a piece of my heart with him when he went and so did my dusky head conure. I think I have 2 big holes in my heart.
