While it's a beautiful song and the sentiment is there, I have a real problem with the lyric "to the ones who never were." The children are always there - their very presence is what makes abortion possible. The pervasive idea in our culture is you're not "there" if you haven't experienced birth, and others recognized you as a person. Unfortunately pro-aborts will say - "Look, even you are stating they didn't exist as people..."
@1Thrufire I didn't take it to mean that, but I do understand your point. I don't think the song is saying they never existed or don't exist at all, but rather that their destinies "never were" (as in lost or forfeit) in this life as we know it.
This song is powerful! Lindsey's voice beautifully captures the song's essence. Will's music speaks to the heart and is truly written in "the language of the soul". Will called me one day and said he heard a cello line in this new song he was writing...would I come over and record it. The mournful cello line adds a hauntingly beautiful thread to the tapestry of this piece and pulls the listener right into the song's message. (So honored to be asked to play for you, Will!)
Music speaks a language that words alone cannot convey. What a beautiful merging of music and words. Now if we could take words and music and move them into action.
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Sounds and looks great. We gotta do the next video w/o the blue tape on the church mic, tho! :-) How cool that U have a Steinway to play in the video!
Still pro-choice.
