A couple of things that Marshall Faulk and Charlie Garner have in common. Both had the same skill sets, you could build your offense around them, and they are from the same NFL Draft class back in 1994.
If there was one word to describe Charlie Garner it would be this word: Explosive. Charlie Garner was an explosive - big play type of running back. Often overlook is how good of a pass catcher Charlie Garner was. Garner was that Marshall Faulk type clone where you can build your offense around.
Damn what a vicious horse coller tackle. I mean it looks like he was trying to hurt Charlie with that one. They weren't illeagal back then I think, but they are illegal for a reason. They all know how much it can kill somebody
Raiders have had some real good backs over the years from Marcus Allen, Bo Jackson, Kaufman, Garner ( I remember the 9ers gave us Garner), Weatly had moments, and now we have Run DMC and Bush.
This was the best Raider team I remember in my lifetime. Gannon at QB, Brown Rice and even Porter at wide outs. Garner speedy slippery tailback. Charles Woodson on pass defense.
i hated this bastard...he shitted on my Jets every year...i could remember going 2 bed in high school after our playoffs loss wishing he was never born!
One of my all time favorite players. He was a poor mans Marshall Faulk. Some of the sickest moves I've ever seen, and he hit the hole like a lightning bolt.
I think Al Davis destroyed Napoleon Kaufman's NFL career. Kaufman avg 5 yards per carry throughout his career & the Raiders still refused to give him the ball...if he was drafted by another team I guarantee he would be in the Hall of Fame.
@lilze96 --pls get the info correct. Since when has Al Davis been known not to pay a player 'who performs'--Napoleon got all sanctified and started telling players they shouldn't cuss--and the next thing you know he is retiring to go and save souls befor the coming of the rapture, and all that bullish. He is currently a minister in Oakland Ca. --what a waste of talent---it wasn't Al Davis--it was the jesus freaks that got a hold of him. fyi--
@lilze96 Naps issue was staying healthy. Too often he had to come out of the game to get "hydrated". Also, unfortunately many of his long runs/kickoffs were nullified due to penalty.
amazing run, but that would have been a touchdown if he had ran between those two defenders at 0:12 instead of bouncing outside and allowing #30 to get an angle on him.
@21Asomugha21 Charlie Garner was like Marshall Faulk from the standpoint that you could build your whole offense around in both the run and passing game because he was a very good pass catcher as well. Guys like Marshall Faulk and Charlie Garner are like a swiss army knife.
lol sorry he told me that he is done he does football camp and plus some ppl dont belive me that he is my uncle but he is i luv him and his sister(which is my Auants)and his mom (which is my great grandmother) so yall can hate all you want but yeah he said he is done wit football but now actually done he still loves foot ball and he teahces me football and his son charlie garner 4 which i call him C4 or baby char, lie(his son) and his daughter is name nari and niya garner they live in flordia bye
It was an awful start for the Steelers in 2001-02. The Patriots & Raiders killed the Steelers in the first two games. The Steelers did get to the playoffs and beat Cleveland, before losing in OT to the Titans.
Yeah I remember that Cleveland game all too well. If I'm not mistaken wasn't that the game where the QB(can't remember name) threw all over the Steelers and built a commanding lead...
Only for the Steelers to come back and take the lead, only for the Browns to drive down the field but ran out of time because a WR couldn't get out of bounds in time to stop the clock...
Kelly Holcumb was the Browns QB. He had a career game in the playoff against the Steelers. But, the defense couldn't protect a 24-7 advantage and lost a heartbreaker.
That would be correct. The Steelers were fortunate to make the playoffs that year, because Pittsburgh had no running game and the defense wasn't very good.
