  • both Partys arguing about what generation of music is better are as bad as each other! i respect all music for what it is, from this song which my old man played to me, to modern stuff such as Daft Punk and infact a couple of Lady GaGa songs...and yet my Fav band is Iron Maiden, Just coz you dont like or get another style or type of music, doesnt mean you know everything about what makes a good song! Music is Eternal and will be forever

  • Whats funny is people from the 40s probably considered music like this and the Beatles vulgar trash lol

  • @brittany19970 & @kujiraluv1, GOOD FOR YOU BOTH!! There's a hell of alot better music then what they play on the radio now days, I will not lump you in with those that listen to that crap called "Rap", YOU Both have TASTE!! So God Bless you both, I'm Frosty, & You both are welcome to my channel anytime, I have over 1,600 music videos from the 50's thru the mid 80's, Help yourselfs, Your Friend, Frosty

  • I bet the song about love but the teens listening to it were having sex in the backseat of the car or in drive thru

  • @phxsns1 MAYBE PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF [freshman in highschool] LIKE TO HEAR ABOUT LOVE AND FEELINGS NOT SEX AND DRUGS >.<

  • brittany19970~I'M NOT IN HIGHSCHOOL, IM IN THE 8TH GRADE (MJMS) AND I LOVE TO HEAR SONGS ABOUT LOVE AND FEELINGS.

  • @Brittany19970 IT COMFORTING.

  • I just dont see how people can love artist like lady gaga and some of the other popular artist of today but not this music, I cant figure it out but, I hope this little faze that teenagers are going through with this type of music will end because its truly not music, This Is Music.

  • FUCK JUSTIN BIEBER AND LADY GAGA I LOVE RONETTES RESPECT FROM FRANCE

  • Everyone can sing, its just whether their good or bad. Lady Gaga is obviously famous and many people like her so she must be good right? Justin Bieber can defiantly sing, the only reason a lot of people hate him is becuase his songs aren't that good in peoples opinions the same goes for Lady Gaga. Katy Perry is also good. I give them all props for keep going and making it by themselves. Now can we just listen to this great music of the Ronettes.

  • @1MireyaOrtease8 no, lady gaga can sing, justin bieber is an average singer and katy shouts and whispers

  • I'm almost 13, sure, i like some current songs, but i gotta admit, i love the classic songs much more. I always have it takes me back to childhood, and even my mom's childhood. I spend hours on end just listening to this one song, and yet, I'm one of the "cool kids" I talk like them, dress like them, but I'm individual and do my own thing. I'm not a follower, I'm a leader, and there are a bunch of kids just like me. Give our generation a chance, we're not THAT horrible

  • I have an idea why dont you all just shut up! its music isnt it? and we're only here to listen to it and not to have petty arguments of why people are famous, No matter how fun they are too read!

  • @dapard I KNOW it has nothing to do with being free, I was just joking (that's why I said LOL) by using a hyperbole, exaggeration and a bit of satire. =D

  • bieber, lady gaga, miley cyrus an all the others ruined music. Yes, this is pop music, but this is back when pop music had soul and was enjoyable to listen to not annoying

  • I love how every video on youtube ends up having comments relating it back to Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. It does not matter what the song is it always happens. This is an awesome song and everyone needs to chill about other artists.

  • The very best !!

  • what's wrong with liking this music and today's pop music? i like it all...

  • good movie

  • so, i guess john lennon made a cover of this...

  • Well since the majority of you are here compaining about 13 year old music taste. Im 13. I love Dirty Dancing and this song and I basically hate the way our society is going and the people we are becoming.

Now, Lets just relax and enjoy this timeless song.

  • 75 people are not breathing .

  • @ruandted 76th dead man ;)

  • GOOD MORNING BALTIMORE!

  • @mackiekyle1 Yah, sometimes I do wish I could go back in a time machine and experience the 60's for a day! Seems like lotsa fun!

  • i sang this song at school for our talent show and i got 1st place:)

  • I wish a song like this would've come on at our school dance, where there was only dubstep and trance. No wonder the 60's were 'a better time', people actually danced and allowed themselves to be free instead of constricting themselves to awkwardly jumping up and down and doing spastic robotic movements aka 'dubstepping' lolololol. ;)

  • @MochaandLoca i agree, our world was total fun and happiness, perhaps were getting old

  • @MochaandLoca

I agree, the 60s seem to have been a 'better time' from that perspective, but let's not forget the political context at the time as well, I'm thinking about segregation up until 1964, and the condition of women in society etc. I don't want to be a kill joy, what I do try to say is that whatever the period we live in, there'll always be good things AND bad things. What remains for us to do is try and make the best of it :)

(But I'm desperately nostalgic as well regardles... lol)

  • @MochaandLoca really.... what your saying is a matter of taste...

as a guy who love both of the geners i can tell you that to dubstep and other electronic music you dance diffrent it dosent has to do with anything to leting ourself to be free.

  • Has to be one of the all time greats . Huge in Australia .

  • R.I.P. Patrick Swayze.

  • @pleaca Thumbs up to Philip Morris ! Good work lads !

  • I'm 26 and I like to dance this song with my sweetheart.

  • I loved dancing to that song when I was a teenager, and at 65 I still like to dance to it. Ronnie had a great sound.

  • .....is this what the guy eddie means when he says in take me home tonight be my little baby ?

  • @liayuki29 Ronnie spector sings on Eddie Mooney's "Take Me home tonight " and yes.,when He siays "just like little Ronnie sang" He Means Her.

  • @reyjalapeno thought so

  • I just realized something here. Popular music from this time was all about love. They sang and preached about love in their songs. These days, popular music is all about sex. They sing and preach about sex. Music has definitely changed a lot.

  • @jdubayou12 The negative change in music shows the degradation of society. Its seems that we humans are reverting back to our animalistic selves.

  • @jdubayou12 Thats exactly true

  • @jdubayou12 sex?? you wish... these days songs are about bitches, niggaz, homies, money and fridays...

  • @PhDrKoci

yeah, and it needs to stop.

  • @jdubayou12 its kinda funny seen how many likes u got

  • @jdubayou12 your right music has definitely changed, now these days the music they play is so out of control.glad to be born in the sixties.

  • Look, I know all you "cool" 13 year olds like this music and hate Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and all the other crappy pop artists making music today, but guess what? THIS WAS THE POP MUSIC OF THE '60s. Pop music has been around forever and always will be here.

That being said, I love The Ronettes and especially this song.

  • @phxsns1 i COMPLETELY agree! i think people who say they hate those people are just so narrow minded! theres nothing wrong with listening to pop music or any other music, young people are just so determined to be different at the moment theyre listening to oldies music just to say they do to look impressive, theyre hearts arent really into this music, theyre just too embarassed to admit they like Lady GaGa's music XP

  • @ImTheOutrage Look, I've listened to music by all three of those artists that I mentioned, and I find little to no redeeming qualities. What I meant in my first comment was that the concept of popular music has been around forever and always will be. It's just that today, there is less of a strive to be of good quality. If you're a young singer, all that's on your mind is being famous. The reason doesn't matter. What kids these days need to know is that bands like The Ronettes WERE Pop groups...

  • @ImTheOutrage .... and were probably just brought into the studios because their voices sounded good. Phil Spector was there to scribble down some lyrics for them to sing.

Kids need to stop acting like they like girl groups of the 60s because they were "Indie" or whatever, because they weren't.

Also, I should probably just mention that I'm a 16-year old guy.

  • @phxsns1 yeah i know what you meant im not divvy, and i agree with you but i was just adding to the fact that it doesnt matter that you find no redeeming qualities of modern music, but some people do but just dont admit it <i know loads of people who are like that. I love 60s music but i love people like lady gaga, im open minded to every genre of music, but more oldies. Also, i should probably mention in a 15 year old girl.

  • i'm*

  • @phxsns1 say something we dont know

  • @phxsns1 that must be why im 13 and cool:)

  • @phxsns1 very well said!

  • @phxsns1

    Pop music was better then.

    It is excremental now.

"Pop" is not a qualifier, as you say. But within "Pop", there is good and bad.

This is good. Justin Bieber is apocalyptically bad.

  • @terratrema I agree. Now, there is less of a strive to be "good", especially among younger singers (Justin Bieber, Rebecca Black, etc.). They just want to be famous, and don't really care why.

  • @phxsns1 Im not 13 or even close... but kids who listen to this music from this time era can truly appreciate music for what it is. No fake sound boards or lip syncing and meaningless words...

  • @Rossco9898 The Ronettes lip-synched plenty of their live performances. Also, I agree that many songs today do contain "meaningless words". They basically take 3+ minutes to say "Let's have sex." But aren't the Ronettes just taking 3 minutes to say "I love you."? I'm sorry, but whenever I listen to girl groups from the 60s, I don't do it for meaningful lyrics. I come for great singing and Phil Spector's Wall of Sound deal.

  • @phxsns1 Everyone's entitled to their own taste of music whether it be from the 60's or whether it be from the 00's, just like have a chance to say what you think, other's may agree with you but other's may not agree

  • @phxsns1 the point is that they prefer the sound of the 60s as opposed to the sound of today.

  • @phxsns1 Lady Gaga can sing when she actually sings a proper song. Justin bieber can,t sing, andKaty Perry is just alright.

  • @phxsns1 I don't really understand what you mean by this comment? sniping at young persons for trying to find a piece of music they can relate to, when all the contemporary popular music out there is, and for want of a better word wank!!!

  • @ross12361 Why don't some kids like today's music? Because they don't like how it sounds or because everybody else likes it? Probably the latter. So they gravitate towards older music because most kids their age don't like it. What they don't realize is back in the 60s they would have hated The Ronettes just as much as they hate pop artists today. Simply because they were mainstream at the time.

But whatever, listen to what you want.

  • @phxsns1 I was born in 1990. Why have I always liked music from this time era and back? Not because I'm a hipster and hate "mainstream" music. It is because my grandmother was an extremely classy lady who died when I was 7. Appreciating the better half of the 1900s does not necessarily have anything to do with society, it could be someone trying to feel close to someone they loved dearly and didn't get a chance to know. I know it's none of my business, just thought you should know.

  • @phxsns1 I really don't think this is the case dude. It may be that this music had meaning to it, instead of all the trash that is considered to be good pop music nowadays...

  • @ross12361 your remark made me laugh.

  • love the song but dont like the dirty dancing pic seams out of place

  • @archie977 How so? It was on the soundtrack for this movie and the movie helped the song reach an even higher level of fame.

  • I love this song .

Doesn't matter how long ago. Also thanks to The Ronettes for Amy's beehive, now everyone has beehives and Topliner, makes me laugh, well done Amy for bringing back the 60's ;)

  • I wish I had composed this song. Its exactly what I want to sing to someone... mmmm

  • Brian Wilson's favourite song, apparently, and the inspiration behind his "Don't worry baby" ... personally, as great as this is, I always preferred "Then he kissed me" of this genre. And that's in the suggestions, so I'm heading there next.

  • my aunt has this doll that sings that song.(its two poler bears, a mama bear and a baby bear)And i finally found that song!yay! its cuz my aunt would press the bears hand and it would start singing that song, but she never knew what the song was called.
