This guy is full of sh#t. ND should have made him coach the bowl game against Florida. That way, ND will have a good idea what a Brian Kelly coached team can do against the elite programs in the country. Yes, he had some success at other schools, but when those schools fac ed an elite team, they got cruched. Thats been ND's story for years. Good against mid level programs, but awful against elite programs. I got four words for the ND fans, more of the same.
I am a bit confused-didn't he coach a team that went undefeated earning a BCS game? I kind of wander for a lot of reasons besides coaching his own team.Lets see-you do not have your assistant coaches...err..wait a minute-he already did that when he was hired by Cincinatti as he pulled out a win in that bowl game and his assistant coaches coached Central Michigan. You go recruit a guy and so does USC,Texas,and University of Florida-you coach Central Michigan,Why do they go to those other schools?
@daveme7 He coached 2 programs that looked great against mediocre teams, but looked awful against elite programs. That means his teams are mediocre, because you are the kind of team that you can beat. If you beat elite teams, then your team is elite. But if you can only beat mediocre teams, then your team is mediocre. And no, he did not win a BCS game.
@74mackd Your absolutely right. Let med throw this at you-you are recruited by two colleges. One has beacvhes and sunshine year round. Perhaps you might see goddeses once or twice in your life until you go to this school. This school also puts out a lot of players to the NFL in the first three rounds every year. Then you ghot the school that has more crime than any two states together and hardly anyone is sent to the NFL-what school r u going to?
@74mackd On the other hand-you are right. Lived on the border between Ohio and Pennsylvania and was glad to see Jim Tressel hired. Why? I tyhink maybe four or five national championships wit the Penguins. Don't think he had a losing seasoin and always went deep into the playoffs. when OSU hired him-can you say we beat Michigan 8 yrs in a row(and yes-he did a bad thing when he did not turn over whatever to the NCAA but think USC got jobbed a lot worst.)
