I think that was really good tribute, but i Think that when one of the biggest stars in rock-music has slept away it's not suitable to perform "Another One bites the dust".
With due respect to the other bands in that tribute concert, in my opinion EXTREME did the best performance and they truly rocked this concert. 19 years after watching it on t.v., I still watch it over and over again. Keep rockin'!!
@CrociatoAzzurro Yes indeed. We were tuned in to MTV, having a few beers and a smoke. Felt bad for the bands that came on after these guys because they OWNED it. Blew us all away how good these guys were. Nuno does look like a manager at a Radio Shack there though...
What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain(10 Commandments)? If yes, then you're a liar, thief, and a blasphemer in the sight of God. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus died for your sins, was buried & resurrected)you'll not perish & have eternal life
I've always been an Extreme fan, but this is the first time I've seen this. My respect for them just grew exponentially. What a fantastic tribute medley! Brian was indeed right, I could see Queen themselves doing an arrangement just like this. Pardon the pun, but it would take "More than words" to express my appreciation for what they've done in the memory of one of rock's greatest and most missed icons!
In every concert with multiple stars, there is always one band that steals the show. Queen did themselves at Live Aid. Extreme stole the show here and produced the finest performance of the entire concert. Brian May got it right when he said that Extreme reallt understood what Queen was all about!!
A band that was super talented that just couldn't produce the huge hits needed to be as popular a many bands. Still they have done pretty well for themselves and the exposure of this performance didn't hurt.
Marvelous vocals and back vocals, great rythm, godlike guitarist... Extreme should have been the greatest rock band of the 90's, 00's. I hope the 2010 years will be successful for them. They deserve success. I mean, more than Justin Bieber, Rihanna, etc. Yes I know about Nuno when he plays for her. Shitty music business. I hope he'll produce the greatest Extreme album for 2012 !
That, my boy, is a rock concert. Even without the instrument based skill theatrics. Just brilliant songs written by a legendary band, played by an amazing band!
@kaizer316 I recorded this on VHS back in '92 lol. Watching it back then it seemed like Extreme got the biggest ovation (Other than Queen, obviously). And watching it all these years later, I still think had the performance of the night.
NICE choice of medley: Mustapha - Bohemian Rhapsody - Keep Yourself Alive - I Want To Break Free - Fat Bottomed Girls - Bicycle Race - Another One Bites The Dust - We Will Rock You - Stone Cold Crazy
The best performance and tribute to Freddy Ever! .Gary Cherone's stage presence and charisma kicks ass! His voice quality and energy is so much like Freddy or even better. Truly one of the best vocalist of all time.
Nuno just slays on the guitar. Pat and the Paul plays with conviction. Freddy would be very happy watching this. I hope They would do this again. Extreme rules!
i watched this over and over again when i was a kid - like 300 times and glad i have just found it again, Will probably watch it as many times now. Love u Freddie
These guys did a fantastic job with the queen cover songs. Gary is an excellent front man he had that crowd in his grasps. Both guitar players and the drummer kicked ass as well.
I remember watching this live and I was waiting for my favorite band (at that time, not now) Def Leppard. But this band kicked everyone's ass that day! Best performance by miles.
'TY NunoCosta for this treat. Extreme did a great job on the songs the harmonies are very tight and well constructed. Freddie would have been proud of their delivery of their medly."
In my opinion, Extreme were the best performance at this Queen tribute concert. They have got to be one of, if not the most, underrated bands ever. Nunos riffs are amazing. Simply hipnotizing.
16 is sie....süüüüß...da hat man ja immer schon massig erfahrung....und vor allem so viel von Queen mitbekommen!..mal eben rechnen...dann biste 94 geboren....Wann is Freddy gestorben?91? Oh ja stimmt...du hast natürlich recht...du schlau ich hohl!
Yeah, they really looked like they sucked here...moron. Sounds like you have some personal issues with the band.
VH3 sucked because everything van halen put out the last decade has sucked. Cherone's a shit ton better front man than haggar.
Hate it when morons try and lump extreme into a category with bands like poison and winger...they've got a ton of talent, but maybe it takes a musician to see it i guess
@flappospammo i guess that was directed at me? my post was merely about the band as performers and only NUNO as a talented guitarist...never said cherone could sing, just that he's a hell of a frontman. I play drums and piano, and you're right flappo, it's not a big fucking deal. Thanks for confirming THAT.
@jazz2fast "bands like poison and winger" winger had reb beach and rod morgenstein .reb was amazing and although not a match for nuno rod was more than a match for any one extreme ever had on the sticks.and poison had kotzen and he is on par with nuno even if i prefer nuno .may be i have mishunderstood you ? ... i know kotzen didn't really belong to poison lol.
@MUDSHARK111 agree with you about Ritchie Kotzen, he is just great, I love his songs like Remember, Something Good, You can't save me and many more, but Nuno Bettencourt is truly great at this concert and an extremely good guitarplayer
@MUDSHARK111 Nononononononono, Extreme had at one time the one and only Mike Mangini on drums, he holds the world speed record for most beats per minute, I think he's probably a little better than Rod.
They stole the show. What a performance. They are now doing a small get together with a new album and tour. We need to support musicians like these. Keep Rocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
