Is their a way/tutorial somewhere to apply secondary functions to keys? i.e. normally say i have a knob that controls fx1. But what if i dont have enough knobs and need it for multiple funcitons? i.e. If that knob for fx1 is used at say the same time as a cue but is pressed it controls a different fx - say fx3?
@donbonification yes thats exactly what this tutorial shows. You can assign as many commands to a key, knob or fader that you would like. This is a great way to speed up your workflow.
@DeeJayEndo Sorry i didnt explain myself correctly. I meant say i have a two deck mixer but wanna mix four tracks - the ability to have a secondary mapping where if the 'mod' button is pressed, say the volume fader will work for deck C instead of deck A.(only while its pressed) I actually found some tutorials eventually on the use of modifier Keys in traktor, but theres nothing great and its still pretty confusing.... but thanks for responding, your tutorials have helped me quite a bit
Why do you set the PLAY button to: Direct, 1. This means the button can only PLAY but not PAUSE. If you set it to: Toggle. you get a PLAY/PAUSE functionality. Much better - no?
the only thing i need help is With the cross Fader. i just want it to work Normally. But my midi mapping are Offff . pleasr Help by posting exactly how ur midi Mappings are set for your X fader? PLEASE i just want a normal cross fader.
I'm having a problem with my Traktor...and I can't find any answers....Please if any one can, Please help. I really don't want to get rid of it. I just got it!!! :-(
@DuDe1040 When ever I start to play some tracks, it starts to make a static noise, it skips, it freezes. It just slows down. I can't even mix for 10 whole mins. I've tried everything. I don't know what to do. I'm very close to sending it back!!
@MzLBoogie09 Are you using the onboard audio or are you using ASIO4All? Try downloading ASIO (just search it in google) and you should find it. It's free and easy to install and should correct your problem :)
Hi Dj Endo. Can this be applied using timecode cd's. I followed the steps, but instead of setting the values to 1, i set them to 0 so that the load marker is at the beginning. I press play on the cd deck hoping it would do the same thing but no joy... any ideas to apply this method for cdj vinyl control??
So useful. After watching this I mapped one button on my X1 to load the first cue point, start playback, and engage an 8-bar loop... great stuff. Thanks!
@bergy4lyfe We have an extensive section of our online Traktor class (Level 3) that is dedicated to making your own mappings. Go to dubspot dot com for more info! Currently there isn't a default Akai APC40 mapping but there should be! For now you'll have to do your mapping from Scratch
@bergy4lyfe If you're in NYC come by dubspot and I'll help you map your APC. Just shoot an e-mail to endo AT dubspot DOT COM and let me know when your in NYC and I'll set it up.
hey man great video! um i was just wondering though, I want to set hotcues throughout various parts of the song that will continue playing. I want to set these two various numbers on my keyboard, but I want each number to correspond separately to each deck (ex. number 2 will activate cue point 2 on deck a but not deck b and vice versa) i was wondering if there was another video talking about that or you knew of a way to do it. thanks man
@stefancoco Yes, you can actually download my key commands at djendodotcom slash traktor (I can't write links in comments) That has #1-5 Cue points 1-5 in Deck A and 6-0 Cue points 1-5 in Deck B, on top of lots of other great key commands. Enjoy!
@stefancoco It works exactly the same as in this video except you would just map the button to hotcue 2 instead of one and select which deck your controlling as well in the controller manager
amazing

You should add Key Lock to it as well so the tracks key don't change with the bpm change.
